Anyone else see the Troll face on the level The Pillar of Autumn? It's on the billboard in the bridge where you speak to Captain Keyes.

John-117, disheartened over the death of his close teammate, took her to the cryo facilities where they immediately froze Linda's body in a Cryo-chamber. The Pillar of Autumn then jumped to Installation 04. As the ship was shot down by Covenant forces, most of the Cryo-chambers, including Linda's, were ejected as per standard UNSC procedure. She floated above the Halo for several days until after the destruction of the the Installation. Linda was then detected by Cortana and John, who were in a Longsword fighter. They picked her and two other cryo pods up, but both of the other occupants had died when their chambers failed. Linda was the only SPARTAN-II, other than John-117, who was near Installation 04 during the events of Halo: Combat Evolved.

When John-117, SSgt. Avery Johnson, Cpl. Locklear, Lt. Haverson, and PO2 Shiela Polaski captured the Covenant Assault Carrier Ascendant Justice, Linda, still in her Cryo-chamber, was brought aboard. Due to the extent of her injuries, she was left frozen until certified medical staff was available. She stayed on the Ascendant Justice until Dr. Halsey was rescued from Reach along with Frederic-104 and the survivors of his team. Dr. Halsey revived Linda aboard the UNSC Gettysburg. Doctor Halsey ended up performing surgery on Linda, transplanting to her newly flash-cloned kidneys and liver which needed to be replaced due to her injuries. The operation was succesful and Linda survived, but Doctor Halsey said it would be at least a week before she should even get out of bed; however, Linda disregarded this due to the imminent threat to Earth, and seemed to recover at least enough to go on a mission within a few days.

So could it be Linda in the Cryo-tube at the end of Halo: Reach then?
No, it has been confirmed it's the Master Chief in the cryo tube.
Linda is still trapped on the shield world with the other spartan 2 and 3's with mendez and halsey am I correct?
Nope, they got out of it in Glasslands
Just a heads up for those picking up Fall of Reach:

Happened to me when looking for a copy just passing it on. I also really suggest if you can getting the audiobook version of the 1st edition so you can not all of the changes other than the errors. It was an awesome book enjoy!

Despite there being Books and Halo Legends that would counter it, originally Linda 058 is the Spartan that Player 2 controls in co-operative.
Co-op is considered multiplayer, which is non-canon in this sense. Even Halo Reach was stretching it with two "Noble Six's." Halo 3 was the only one that had an alternate-canon to the co-op campaign, with Thel in slightly different locations. In Halo: CE, the second Spartan grunts like John and dies like John. It's John. People can pretend that it's Linda, but there is no canonical basis for her being active at that time.

In-fact Linda is one of those such points that requires retcon, because in Legends she is Killed-in-Action during the attack on the Covenant Supercarrier in an effort to rescue Dr. Halsey,
If I remember correctly, Linda wasn't present in that attack, it was Kelly. And she was able to commandeer a Seraph - along with Fred - to escort John and Dr. Halsey back to the ONI stealth ship.
This is probably going to be my only post. I've happened across this when reading to find any spartans I can use for a forum game I'm doing on another site that are unnamed and unknown so I can use them freely and they're not LOCKED into a story line.

I wasn't going to comment until I read the comment on "read the books" So far I've only read
~Contact Harvest
~The Cole Protocol
~The Fall of Reach
~The Flood

The only thing in ANY of those that mentions Linda is most of The Fall of Reach up to the point where Linda was killed and John brought her aboard The Pillar of Autumn. No where in The Fall of Reach or The Flood does it mention Linda being frozen in cryo or being shot out to space before The Pillar of Autumn crashed onto the first discovered Halo ring. You then refer to First Strike which I have yet to read but I've read the description, while if or if it doesn't mention Linda it takes place between Halo 1 and Halo 2 not before The Pillar of Autumn crashed on Halo. So please do a bit of research before mentioning "Read these books" because I have read them and they do not mention the cryo part at all.

Which by the way, the books on the Halo universe I find need to get their facts together and read the other books before mentioning people and events that already have been mentioned. Halo:Reach and Halo: The Fall of Reach are two different stories. Cortana was ALREADY on board The Pillar of Autumn before it's take off. Also how can John be the last spartan when there are other 'survivors' from books? You see, some of these books take the story of Halo and warp it off its path completely.

Pg 369, The Fall of Reach:
"He took Linda's body double time to a cryo chamber and immediately froze her. She was clinically dead- there was no doubt of that. Still, if they could get her to a Fleet hospital, they might be able to resuscitate her. It was a long shot- but she was a Spartan."

From First Strike: (My summary) While searching the debris for survivors, Cortana finds a set of cryotubes, jettisoned before the ship went down. The Chief pulled them aboard. The Chief finds survivors in a Pelican. Together, they infiltrate a Covenant flagship, where it is revealed that Linda is in one of the tubes, clinically dead. Later, after returning to Reach to rescue other Spartans and Halsey, Halsey manages to bring Linda back and fix her up as best she can. Then Linda participates in destroying the Unyeilding Heirophant, where she escapes with John and the others back to the UNSC Gettysburg, and they go back to Earth. [The events of Ghosts of Onyx and Glasslands happens after this book].

"Read the books" was the correct.

In the first level Pillar of Autumn, when you have to go to the escape pods through the cryo bay and your in the small room and looking out the window can see Covenant looking at your cryo tube. On the wall directly opposite to the window there are 2 large screens. One shows Master Chief 117 and the screen is mainly green with his vital stats like pulse and that. And the other screen is red with all the vital stat and pulse line flat and had Linda 058 as the name. Who is this mysterious Spartan?

Dude, did you know that there are books?

That's Linda. She fought in Reach's space with John and James. James was killed and she was seriously injured, but ends up recovering later in the story. =)
The book Halo: First Strike, I believe, tells the story continuing after Halo: CE, and it's got the story of her recovery. =)
Interesting, I never noticed that
If you go past the monitor/control room for the cryo bay that 117 was in, you can turn around and enter a similar control room for the other cryo bay. That's there in the original, too, albeit with far less interesting monitors, and no information on the other Spartan displayed. (In the remake, I believe her information is displayed on the primary display in that second room, facing the actual cryo bay, not just on the wall behind.)

Having read the three Nylund books before playing the first game- I did it all out of order- I kind of suspected that Linda was in the other bay, as she'd be the only Spartan that would make sense in that situation, but 343's explicit addition of her information to confirm it was a very nice touch.
Linda is another SPARTAN-II who is actually a sniper.

If you want to know about her I suggest you read these books:

The Fall of Reach

First Strike

The Ghosts of Onyx

Thanks for the spoiler, haven't gotten to Glasslands yet, guess now I HAVE to if crosses the end of Ghosts of Onyx.

In the legendary edition of Halo reach I think I got a card explaining about Linda 058. Maybe, a hint for Halo 4.
Linda might be in infinitie's Spartan Ops or might be one of the back story anybody agree
Linda-058, the best sniper in the business. Except for Patrick-013.

Linda 058 is one of the spartans of johns team. She was severly injured by an over charged plasma bolt and is in cryo to stay alive. SHe gets ejected when the autumn goes down, but a pelican fit for space transport manages to find her.

She lives.
Dare to believe.
