Playing MCC, Universal Zoom & Shoot is literally the most perfect control scheme for Halo 5, and I implore 343i to make the following scheme a thing in the beta/final release.
RT: Fire Weapon
LT: Smart Scope
RB: Throw Grenade
LB: Thruster Pack
Y: Switch Weapon
X: Action/Reload
B: Crouch/Ground Pound
A: Jump/Clamber
Right Stick (click): Melee/Spartan Charge
Left Stick (click): Sprint
D-Pad Up: Flashlight
D-Pad Left/Right: Change Grenade Type
D-Pad Down: Lower Weapon (please no more claw/Konami Code, it’s annoying)
Please consider this as a control scheme for either the beta or final release, whenever you have time to implement it!
You mean to add that as a control scheme to introduce new players that come from common FPS to Halo? Look at the Default Control scheme of Halo 5. Watch ReadyupLive’s control scheme video and you’ll see it’s practically what you asked for

Halo 5’s default scheme is funky though because it’s for Thruster Pack and [RS] to crouch. Both of those are odd to me.
I play bumper jumper and most of my friends that have played halo long enough to realise that default layout kinda sucks. I’d hate to play halo after using RS for zoom for so long being mapped to LT 0_0 its weird

Oh heavens no, I’ve been playing Halo since H2, I’ve just found myself more comfortable with games that have ADS, thus I’m using Zoom & Shoot in MCC, that way I’ll be slightly more comfortable with H5 when the beta hits.
Agreed with OP. I used to use Boxer for ALL Halos, including ODST and Reach (I’ve been playing since '01 when the CE came out). Then when I got the MCC, they didn’t have a Universal Boxer. They switched a few controls for Boxer depending on which Halo you were playing. It was tough switching from one Boxer layout to another depending on playing the campaigns or matchmaking, so I switched to Universal Zoom and Shoot, since it was the closest to what I used for CoD, Battlefield, Titanfall, and Destiny (I would have used a Boxer-style control but no other games use this…haha). Not sure why they didn’t include Universal Zoom and Shoot in the Halo 5 Beta…I find that it’s the best placement for all controls. I’ve switched back to Boxer for the Beta and it’s killing me…I’ll eventually get used to it, but I’d rather have Universal Zoom and Shoot. Oh well.

Whereas on the controller layout in halo five Says zoom they mean additional zoom like with a sniper rifle
