zoom is removed to when someone shoots you

When you equip long range weapons it is clear that you need to aim with zoom on many occasions, which is totally prevented when someone shoots you with any other type of weapon and distance, making the zoom disappear. I think this should be corrected as it detracts from the long range weapons, being a better option in any case to continue with the base weapon or any other weapon wich you do not need aim with zoom.

That is added in to balance the longer range weapons and make it so you aren’t served an automatic death sentence if someone is targeting you with a Sniper or BR for example.

It seems fine to me, only that all the weapons are quite accurate which makes it very difficult to use the long-range weapons.

Its called descope, it’s has always been in Halo other than h4. It however is pretty broken right now especially with the sniper especially. Currently there isn’t much reason to zoom in as it put you at a huge disadvantage. For some reason in this game descope has an extreme effect due to the sensitivity problems at least on PC.

This is an important staple of the game. Ranged weapons would absolutely destroy the game otherwise.

you got what I’m trying to say, there’s not much reason to zoom in if all other weapons are already accurate at any range.

is this your first halo?

My opinion is:
If scoped weapons descope, so should ADS (or be gone). If ADS doesn’t descope neither should scoped weapons.

It’s weird yeah, but I dunno. I realized this weekend that on Bazaar, the pulse rifle is super suppressive when putting pot shots across to the enemy catwalk (or whatever you wanna call it) when they have a BR or Commando. You won’t really get kills since there is cover to easily avoid the killing blow, but since the pulse rifle doesn’t get knocked out of zoom, and the BR/Commando does, you can do some good damage and help create some room for your team to make a move. I kind of like that dynamic, it’s a new and interesting thing in halo.

absolutely not, but it is the first halo where I feel this really annoying, I have been playing since halo 2 and had never felt that the sniper or similar weapons were not worth it.

I see what you mean about the Pulse Carbine and you have a point. I’m not sure it would loose this role if it was descopable though.

I just use hip fire almost exclusively with the Commando. It is stupid good when you get used to it with distance shots.

Halo NEEDS descope on weapons when you get hit, they removed this in Halo 4 and snipers would never miss because they can just keep the zoom on and kill you. Its better this way.

My issue is that unscoped weapons don’t unzoom when shot, not the other way around. If you could cause unzoom on ARs it would cause as much disorientation to them as it causes to your BR at long range. Right now it’s just way too easy to maintain constant accuracy at long ranges with the AR mid-gunfight, while it’s significantly harder for weapons intended to play at those ranges.
