Players using the default control scheme can automatically re-zoom after the initial delay from damage by simply holding the left trigger.
Players using other control schemes however, have to do it manually.
To even out the playing fields, there should be an option that puts the player back into zoom after the minimum delay without having to re-click.
Or just make it so those who are using default have to re-press the left trigger.
Having always been someone who’s played on the default control scheme for each new Halo, I’ve always felt that a truly even playing field would be to force everyone to play on default. I was always at a disadvantage to those who used Bumper Jumper in particular. Honestly, I don’t care much. Whatever, and so be it, but I will say that I really like how I don’t have to re-click the left trigger. It just makes sense in my brain. So sure, add an auto re scope, but I say no to clicking left trigger again.

so you experience the “disadvantage” that you have with bumper jumper, yet you don’t want to have an inherent advantage evident in your control scheme removed? Seems slightly hypocritical, especially since you’ve always had to re push to.aim in halo.

What I’m saying is that there has always been some disparity between control schemes in Halo and a truly “even” experience would force everyone into default. But this has never and won’t ever happen. So part of the Halo experience is dealing with disparity. I am willing to have auto re zoom on default be one of those disparities. Also, I’m saying that I personally like not having to re click because that jives with the way my brain works. On top of all this I am saying sure, put in auto rezoom for other control schemes. So no, I don’t see myself as hypocritical here.
An update on my personal opinion.
I actually enjoy the “auto-zoom” from holding the left trigger. Unfortunately, stick-clickers don’t get the same benefit.
I use Recon. I stuck with it because ground pound is horrible with default controls.
Either an “auto-zoom” for stick-clicks need to be added, or the delay before being able to zoom again should be increased.
