It’s pretty simple, for zero bloom we remove all AAs and add 120% speed, 125% jump and 200 gravity (must; if we want good strafes and remove the skating feel), and we get the definitive classic experience.
As for 85% bloom, we just add 110% speed, 110% jump and 200 gravity (optional; if we want to nerf jetpack), and we get the definitive default Reach experience.
Default speed only works properly with the current bloom setting, but now that the TU gave the game less bloom (now faster paced) we also need to move faster to get good strafes to remove the easiness of getting 5sks all the time.

its basically like our guns now work at double the pace of the game. it feels very odd. the speed of the player has to be proportional to the kill times of his weapon, otherwise the game just plays very poorly.

I mean, it’s common sense, if your gun kills faster than normal, then you should also move faster than normal.
I hope it doesn’t take long for 343i to realise this, If they already haven’t.
The settings mentined in the OP are the settings that fit those two gametype best.
At the time, the only gametypes that are half enjoyable, are the ones with 85% bloom, because zero bloom with default feels like call of duty ADSing all the time (no joke), there can’t be AAs or turtle speed when there no bloom, it’s just dumb.

Halo 3 worked with a slower moving speed than Halo 2; because hitscan was gone, but now that it returned, 120% speed and 200% gravity are a MUST to use with zero bloom.
I like throwback 1.5, though.

You like the game because you don’t ever miss when your targets are virtually standing still. I like the challenge of shooting a moving object and I also like being able to avoid getting shot. That is just me
