It’s quite possible that this has existed for a long time, but tonight I experienced the most horrific spawn trapping I’ve ever seen in Halo.
The other team actually managed to force us to spawn directly in front of them for a quick back smack. This must be recent, as it’s never happened in my entire Reach career.
Here is the carnage report and a file share videoof the match.
I seriously hope that this was a fluke, if not, it needs fixed urgently.
I’m pretty sure that it’s been around for quite some time, it’s just that people are starting to find out about it. It’s not a fluke, it’s a real and repeatable thing.
And don’t count on 343 to fix it, they’re done with Reach until after Halo 4 comes out…Best part is that the latest update didn’t even do anything other than remove things. Isn’t it wonderful?
I’m pretty sure that’s been around since the game was released.
It has to do with the spawn zones. The only “safe” are to spawn you on Zealot is basement, apparently. Giving players a Sword that spawns right near there doesn’t help.

Adding to this, the map is so small and players can only spawn on their side of it, that no matter what, any players who know the spawn zones can place a guy at most of the spawns and force the other team to spawn in only one spot.
The fact that there are now 5 people on each team makes it even easier to force a team to spawn in one place on even more maps as you can cover more of the spawn zones of the other team.
You mean like this spawn?
Yeah, it’s extremely cheap, although I’ve noticed more frequently the more we attempt it, sometimes they WILL spawn up top at their flag. That started roughly a month or 2 ago.
