Welp, that’s what 343 gets for not communicating and putting out hallow events.
Nothing from the people in charge.
Desync is a huge issue.
Menu loading is a mess to where you have to load up and back out constantly.
Ran into my first 2 cheaters this week. (that I know of).
Having more fun on Yugioh though! wayyy more fun!
Nice bait, Selket back at it with the obligatory noncontextual “hallow” troll post.
Some actual context though:
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel released on 1/18/22. Meaning it’s been out at this point for less than 2 days.
In its two days of release Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel hit a peak of approximately 146k players on Steam. By comparison Halo Infinite hit 256k on Steam within 2 days of release. There’s a 54% gap between these two peak populations in the same contextual timeframe.
Not even saying that 256k is better than 146k, 146k launch is incredibly respectable.
Within 2 days of Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel releasing, its population dropped 1.76% (144k to 142k). Within 2 days of Halo Infinite releasing its population grew 21.74% (185k to 226k). (I’ll adjust this after 1/20 for context to take into account Thursday’s full context.)
And finally, Yu-Gi-Oh and Halo represent two entirely different genres with very little contextual crossover.
Let’s compare numbers in a few months, then a year, then a few years (ignoring the obvious difference in genres). Your post is entirely moot trying to compare current numbers with current numbers. 2 days of data is hardly a point to draw conclusions on, just look at Halo Infinite population numbers now compared to 2 days in.
well, YuGiOh is one of the biggest card games in the world, so it is bound to get a high population of players.
If YuGiOh continues to have a bigger population of players on Steam then HI I would not be surprised, because remember, one of the biggest card games in the world.
There are way too many issues for a game that has barely any content, and Imo basing the game around the shop/BP/f2p is the worst thing to ever happen to Halo.
I’m tired of these people that run these companies ruining great games because of their selfishness. I mean for a business they really arent that intelligent thinking traying to get that fast cash is going to help things, but in the long run that piss poor attitude will backfire.
They have a 10-year plan with a game that has barely been out and it’s already broken.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel does f2p way better than Halo Infinite. If Master Duel can be very generous to free players, so can Halo Infinite. Master Duel shows that f2p can be done right and still be successful.
Fine by me. CSGO is my personal favorite comparison because it challenges almost every narrative on this forum in regards to player retention and success from lack of a progression system to gameplay changes to predatory/overpriced monetization to anti-cheat and more. It literally goes against what most players here argue makes a game successful and still wallops the competition. From the fact it was viewed with so much disdain and vitriol at launch for being an ‘unnecessary’ upgrade to being the premier competitive FPS title is a wonderful achievement to document.
With other key contextual and important inferences that led to their eventual successes to various degrees. PUBG’s success differs from Apex’s success in wildly different ways. R6S and D2 are literal examples of redemption arcs in poorly received and maintain titles.
