You're opinion on Halo 5

Hello fellow forum members I just wanted to see what guys think of Halo 5 at its current state and do you think it will last.

It’s my favorite halo and halo is my favorite series so… I think the monthly updates will keep the community there, it would help if they kept the weekend playlists in the game though :stuck_out_tongue:

Not really a big fan of the thruster pack and the mandatory win for a silver pack (should be one win or three full match completions in my opinion)

I also am not very competitive so the new arena mode isn’t my cup of tea.

I do like a lot of things they did, but it probably is my 2nd least favorite halo after 4.

I think it will last until Halo 6, personally. Halo 4 was ‘dead’ until Halo 5, and I could always find a match and have fun.

As a lore fan of the series, I think Halo 5 is abysmal. I wont go into further detail.

The MM seems solid, just needs more content. Give some social playlists and more playlist variety for us less pro players.

I gave my Xbox One to my nephew your Christmas and I planned on buying the Halo Xbox One console, which I haven’t done yet. Once 343 adds more content, which I’m sure it will, I’ll dive in and have a blast until Halo 6 I bet.

for the love of god, no more “what do you think of Halo 5” threads. There has literally been one a day since it came out. “Halo 5 vs Halo 3”. “Halo 5 vs original Trilogy” “Halo 5 vs Halo 4”.

If you want to know peoples opinion, just read like 3 threads of any topic on this forum and youll see that peoples opinions are all over the map.

Seriously dude, Im not trying to be a dink or anything, but at this point another thread on this topic is literally like a dead horse beating a dead horse…

I completely agree with you I personally think that its good game however it’s getting boring for me.

The Halo 5 gameplay, all the new moves, the 60 fps and the dedicated servers, the weapons balance, for me it’s as close as perfect as can be. Never had this much fun playing Halo online, but I should say I like to play competitively and less socially most of the time. I expect to keep playing this game all of 2016 easily

viper17988 if this post triggered you im sorry but I rarely post in the forums so i did not know that there was of similar post however the whole reason for this post is to hear what people say so if you don’t want to see it then don’t click it.

For me: Halo 5 is my second favorite (Halo CE still the “best”). I think I liked the Arena matches in Halo Reach a little more, but Warzone/Warzone Assault is a big winner for me. Playing the campaign again, still a solid campaign.
Will be playing this through 2016 no problem.

Weapon balance is about the only thing I like. Everything else in underwhelming compared to previous titles IMHO.

Campaign: Story was blegh. Characters are pretty forgettable. The gameplay was decent, and it had a few notable moments, but overall it’s unremarkable.

Arena Multiplayer: I would say it’s the best since Halo 3, though that statement really doesn’t mean all that much. Maps are okay, though variety is lacking and implementation is flawed. Sprint has a much smaller influence on the game, now that base movement speed is faster, it’s nerfed, and you can shoot almost immediately coming out of it. So that’s good at least. The other abilities are very situational and don’t really benefit the game at all, if not directly take away from it Halo 5 is decent in spite of these abilities, not because of them. Aim assist levels are still pretty sketchy, as is weapon balance. Very few game modes to play. There’s a ton of other competitive flaws like the power up delay or how explosives completely blind you when they go off in your face, but I won’t get into all those minute details for the sake of brevity. Overall, I give it a passing grade.

Forge: Is the best it’s ever been. Though with the lack of a fileshare or community content in matchmaking it’s rendered largely pointless.

Warzone: Gets old fast unless you’re someone with a ton of cool toys to burn through. Which I’m not because I sell all my weapons to pay for Req packs instead in a futile effort to keep up with the ridiculously bloated requisition system (more on that in a bit). It’s fundamentally imbalanced and is rather shallow. Trudge through twenty minutes of slaying enemy players or getting destroyed by overpowered weapons while bosses occasionally pop up. Try to fight the bosses, only to have some guy on the enemy team hit them with three AR bullets from anywhere on the map and steal your kill. Despite what noobs like to claim as a counter-argument, it’s literally not possible to keep the enemy team away from the bosses at all times. Literally. Not. Possible. Overall it’s not executed very well and isn’t what I expected from a bigger than ever BTB mode.

Requisition System: Pay up front or grind for a long, long time (though with the way it’s executed paying isn’t all that appealing of an option either). Packs are full of complete filler that no one wants, such as emblems which should’ve just been made available to everyone right off the bar, or five mildly different reskins of the same set of armor, or very slight variations of loadout weapons, all of which greatly reduce your chances at getting good items, and greatly increases the amount of Reqs you have to burn through.

Aesthetics: I’m pretty much tired of explaining this, but the new games simply don’t look or sound like a Halo game should.
