"You're just whining, Stop complaining" What?

Ok, seriously. Left and right I am seeing people saying “don’t complain” or “stop whining about this and that.”

What is the mentality behind this? You may see it as complaining, but I see it as a perfectly logical point (ok, some of them >_>) that people are pointing out, that in their opinion is unfair or unbalanced.

They’re alright to do this you know, because that is how games get better.

You might not see anything wrong with the boltshot, or with the DMR, or active camo, but that doesn’t mean somebody else will think the same as you will. There are those who believe that, as it stands, the DMR is the only logical weapon to use. Thats actually fairly true.

To those who will say “Oh, well I beat DMR users all the time.” Well answer me this, if there was one of you with the DMR, and one of you with the BR (being the same person, skill level and mentality of playstyle) then who would win? I can honestly tell you it probably wouldn’t be the battle rifle.

Assuming you play equally well and play equally skilled opponents in both games, you would almost definitely get more kills with the DMR. Why? Range. It has more range, aim assist, magnetism and firerate than any of the other weapons.

To me, this is a problem that should be pointed out. The DMR should not be able to beat the BR in the BR’s respective range. Does it always? No, but as it is, if you have a 100% accurate player with a BR, vs a 100% accurate person with a DMR, at close range, and you shoot at the same time, the DMR WILL win.

That’s a problem. The BR should win because it is the BRs respective range. It doesn’t matter that the BR has more aim assist in its respective range, because a good DMR user will be able to 5 shot you anyway.

Why should I not point that out as a problem?

How about the excessive amount of aim assist and magnetism on weapons? I’ve posted this a couple times, but at the DMR’s max sticky reticle range, you can aim completely off the person (reticle not touching, also blue) and still register a shot, and you will get a 5-6 shot kill. Now that is at the DMRs max STICKY RETICLE range, which is much, much farther than the BRs.

How abou the fact that I can aim a mongoose length off of a person with a detached turret, and still be on the sticky reticle?

How about that curving mid air sticky detonator, even though your reticle isn’t even touching him?

I see all of these as problems. Why should I not be able to point this out? Why are some of you guys against pointing this out? It baffles me.

How about that broken join in progress system? The terrible kill cams?

How about the boltshot? A 1 hit kill shotgun secondary, with the capability to down a man at ranges outside of those of a scatter shot?

I don’t like these things. Why can I not point these out and say “Hey, what on earth is going on here?”?

I don’t understand why it is such a bad thing that I should complain about things that to me look so broken. Thats not to say that you find them broken, but I do.

tl;dr: I honestly can’t sum that up without missing most of the major points, so if you’d like to contribute, you have a bit of reading to do, sorry.

That’s just my outlook on the waypoint situation, and a bit of my thoughts on Halo 4.

It’s not that, it’s the fact that they’re sceaming it, to me, if you have to shot, and yell, or type ALL CAPS, then no matter what, you could be 100% right, you just lost the argument because you couldn’t be civil about it. I stopped watching the presidential debates because of this very thing.

Constructive criticism is the only way a game will get better true, but not when we have to rely on 343…

Very good point. And I agree with you, they do have to be more polite in their tone.

I just don’t understand why a lot of people just act like complaining is terrible and should never happen.

Thank you. You are on of the people like me who is not fanboy on this forum. I agree with you 100%.

I think their problem is they are complaining about things ALREADY brought to attention. It’s like constantly yelling at someone when they’ve already gotten their point across. Then they decide to start insulting 343 and how they’ve made a terrible game and that they’re never playing Halo again. It’s not really the complaints but how they are complaining or even the things they are complaining about. Like the DMR being over powered. I don’t THINK it’s not over powered, I KNOW it’s not over powered and it is frustrating to see people complain about it.

Just got to say, I disagree with the DMR… but that happens.

Anyway, I understand what you mean, and I think that people really ought to make one complaint thread and stick with that, with the mods locking all other complaint thread…

You guys suffer from the complain/hater disease. I know this because I have played Halo for a lonngggg time. I have played bad Halo games and good Halo games. Halo 4 is not a bad game. Some people are just like that…they complain and find reasons to hate stuff and they don’t even realize it. This type of behaviour is very destructive in the long term of life. Take things for what they are. Halo 4 is a well made game that you play for fun. I understand the importance of competition because I am one of these people but the reality of it is that if you’re having a hard time being the player you think you are and it isn’t because the game is unbalanced lol… The game is being played the same way by everyone…everyone’s on an equal playing field…so that argument doesn’t stand up. Learn the game, what works - what doesn’t and again. If you’re not good at it, it isn’t because the game is broken. Re-read that last phrase and think…think really hard…isn’t that the stupidiest thing you’ve ever heard?

I’ve honestly got no idea what I just read… at all…

First: if you whine, leave. If you don’t like something and you want change, fix the problem, but don’t whine. Give facts and fixes.

Second: my veiw of the problem.
-DMR, needs to be a bit slower on the rate of fire or BR needs more power. The power option for the BR would make it better then the carbine though.
-aim assist,I want aim assist off but I understand the whole lag idea of it. I hate tracking a guy and his… (Choice name here) are swapping positions and the aim assist keeps trading off who I am shooting at, or the thing going to some random ghost that passes between us. I want to shut it off.
-magnetism, I understand these are future weapon and the can curve to a target, but reduce the damage a curved shot does. I would be happy with half damage with a non-direct shot. A head shot should only be direct and do 1.5 damage.
-stick shot gun or whatever this ungodly weapon is, should keep the current magnetism like a homing grenade. I love using and dying by these thing when the go around corners.
-I want proximity mines. Please.
-Bolt shot, I don’t mind it but I think it should use more all ammo in the clip for what it does.
-I like all the AAs, none seem overpowered but some are over used.
-vehicles, I like the way you have to drive smart and fish tail to avoid PPs and fling of stickies. The scorpion is slow and needs team guards, but I have gone forever with one. Banchee needs something, it’s too weak for the most part. We need a Human aircraft too.
-lag, I have found lag only with bad hosts and they loose connection quick.
-A guess a ranking system would be nice, I couldn’t care about my rank though, I guess for the MLGing people. I am guessing they are something special like a jock in high school.
-Ordinance Drops, they are great and depend on what you can use. I can say that I have lost a game because of a single needler and we (leading team) dropping infernos.

This is my idea for fixes and problems. I really love that Halo is no longer charge to your death but actually has planning on what you can and want to use. The bit of randomness prevents a team just taking the risk of running over the other team. It means use tactic the whole game.

PS good job so far with the thread staying adult.

No one hates it because it’s hard. They hate it because it is random, easy, and there’s no incentive to improve. It’s bland, your input barely matters, your strategy barely matters because everything is randomly placed.

> I understand the importance of competition

You really don’t.

Both candiadtes lied their -Yoinks!- off. The people saying the DMR is OP or custom game options suck are not lying.

Basically since you like the game you do not understand why there are people complaining about it.

I laughed pretty hard when you said everyone is on an equal playing field. And also you obviously do not understand competition because if you did you would not be defending Halo 4 in its current state.

Dude. Reread his post please. You’re making yourself look bad. The few things that I understand in your post makes no sense either. Why should I take things as they are? Why not try to make them better in my eyes? Doing what you’re saying is basically giving up so why would you want that?

Nobody said anything about not being good at the game.

It’s not an equal playing field either. Unbalanced loadouts don’t make equal playing fields.
