Your worst matchmaking game ever

This thread is about your worst matchmaking game you ever played in Reach (for any reasons you deem relative. I’ll go first.

My worst game ever was in BTB. It took place on Paradiso and the gametype was CTF. In the pre-game lobby I noticed the other team - Red team - all bore the same emblem. Never a good sign. This was a real, proper team. I was playing splitscreen with my brother. He had to take a phonecall after a couple of minutes of gameplay so he left the room. He was lucky. He didn’t see what I saw. What ensued was a nightmare that traumatises me to this day.

There are 2 Scorpions and 1 Banshee on this map. The opposition team launched one of the most vicious assaults I’ve ever suffered. It was co-ordinated. It was fast. Blink and you would miss it. Within a minute they had us pinned inside our base. They got the two Scorpions and sat at the perfect range to beat down any attempted resistance. Two snipers sat perched on the high ground surrounding our base murdering anyone that stepped outside to take a peek. No mercy. They grabbed the Banshee, blasting me and my weary team-mates in the face countless times. Spawn killing occured, somehow. A proverbial slap in the face to discourage any thoughts of putting up a fight. We cowered in the corners of our base, safe behind the walls - I never thought I would appreciate the grey walls of Forge World as much as I did then - as the Scorpion cannons boomed outside. We sat hunched together. Some meleed eachother as if to say “Do something!!!”. There was nothing we could do. We convinced ourselves it was going to be ok, it would be over soon, we could go play some comfort Grifball and Living Dead and frolick in the fun fields of Reach with happiness in our hearts! Of course it was a lie. A lot of men died that day and nobody who survived would ever see Reach the same way again.

-takes a moment to compose myself after reliving that horrible day…-

Ok! So, do tell

Had something similar happen when we had a split-screen quit before the BTB on Hemorrhage even started, and then they stole our wraith somewhere along the way.We got pounded…

But the ones I really hate are when you run around thinking you did OK, with maybe a bunch of Assists, only to end the game with 3 kills and 1 assist… “I did WAYYY better than that!”

One time I only went like +4. It was pretty bad.

Once played a game of btb on boneyard. Half way through the game we’re winning, and a good 3-4 people on their team quit.

Suddenly the other team flips their best mode switch. They’re pulling unbelievable plays. For instance I hijack a banshee. The pilot fires a perfectly calculated bomb. What I mean is close enough to the floor to kill me yet leave the banshee unscathed. The moment anything is up they grab it, scorpion, warthog, rockets, you name it. It wasn’t so much that they had it but they’d waste them so we couldn’t use em.

Scores about 99 us 98 them. I grab a nade launcher. Go head to head with the spartan with the worlds greatest armor cuz he aint dying from 3 nades blown up in his face. Manages to perfect 5 shot me without a single shot missed. In my death they pull an immediate second kill. They win, we lose, I rage.

got matched up against 2 inheritors and 3 forerunners, i went -2 and my friend went -5 and the rest of the team (3 people) went a combined -51. the other team wasnt that good, but it was a 2v5 and there was no chance of winning.

Being in a game of grifball were my entire team was in a party and united to spawn betray me.

It was in BTB; it was me and some randoms versus a full party with most of them inheritors. I don’t remember which map it was, but it was a forge map set in the Hemorrage canyon. The map had 2 banshees, a revenant, and a few ghosts. The gametype was neutral bomb, and most of my team quit soon after the game started. The enemy team got control of all the vehicles and started spawn camping us. In the chaos, somehow one of my teammates set off the bomb in the enemy base, but it didn’t make much difference. Most of the time within 3 seconds of spawning, my team would be greeted by a banshee fuel rod to the face.

I killed a few of them that were on foot. Then I started using jetpack to try to hijack one of the banshees, but every time I would be in range to hijack they would barrel roll upwards and splatter me. We tried to hide when we spawned in a “safe” spawn, but they would just find us and kill us. When the match was almost over, they detonated the bomb 3 times, so we lost. Of course, my teammates and I had severely negative k/d. On top of that, one of the banshee pilots got an “Unfrigging Believable” and no deaths. It was the worst match ever. That is why I think that a full party should only be able to go against another full party, not a full party versus randoms.

I was all alone in a BTB game and the other 15 were together and they were working together to hunt me down :frowning:

LOL, you are the best, I got a good laugh out of this post, a thank you for you sir.

Worst game ever was the time I back handed my TV.

Playing uncaged. I kept spawning above rockets. Guy was on man landing (man cannon landing). The first time he just straight up out DMR’d me. Okay whatever. Second time I throw two nades, how he avoided them as they were both placed under his feet, I will never know. He 5 shots me, I die. Spawn same place, do the same thing, this time I watch the nade take his shields down as I shoot 5 shots into his shield less husk, he 5 shots me. I die.

I back hand my TV, throw my controller, and shut off my box.
That honestly the worst I’ve ever raged. Ever. I don’t ever usually rage, I don’t know what it was about this time, but I was pissed.

Other than that, I’m sure I’ve gone -20 or more from messing around.

For me if i have fun its not a bad game…
although for my randoms that are team mates, every game im on their team.

lolz

Any game with a Banshee in it is usuallly terrible

Well, mine would have to be when I went -20 on MLG countdown.

Now, before you ask how I managed to do that, I was alone in a 4v1 and getting spawnkilled with rocket launching -Yoinks!-. I did however manage to get 26 kills by the time they got to fifty however, so I praise myself on that. But that has to be the worst score I’ve ever had.

Now, I’m just going to put forward something: Who spawnkills with a rocket launcher and then T-Bags the guy? I mean, you’re going to win anyway, so why use a rocket? And there are times when T-Bags are allowed (EG: 2 for 1 headshots) and time when they arent. But spawnkilling someone in a 4v1 with a rocket is definitely not the time to do that.

But yeah, that had to be the worst score I’ve gotten. The worst matches I play I generally quit out of, becuase if I’m just dying I will be more of a detriment to my team than helpful.

Squad DLC in Highlands 1 CTF TU. At the beginning, everyone quit and I was by myself, except the red team, which had no quitters. So I gave a hopeless attempt to win. Otherwise its not the bad. Unless we include Grifball Stat-padders + someone on your team constantly betraying. Then we are talking.

I got like 11 assists and 3 kills in a BTB game once…that sucked…

In Squad DLC I got only assists in the first 30 kill (per team) in a slayer game, ended the game with 8 assists and 12 kills, but it still sucked.

I played a highlands ctf yesterday, I think I was on redteam…gg?

My worst rage would have to be when I went 31-2 and still managed to lose.

Here I am, destroying the enemy, well over half the kills in the match (MLG) and I decide to take a look at the score for my second death of the game (Sanc). Now, I look at the score, where I have 25 kills and 2 deaths, and both my teammates are sitting below five. I’m thinking to myself, “Well what the hell?”

I look at the enemies score, They’re at 40, my teams at 31. So, I’m pretty pissed off. I go in skill mode and destroy the other team, but the score still rises becuase they are killing my idiot teammates. The score is now 37-45. I’m sitting there, with thirty kills, and my teammates managed to get seven. So, I start looking for the enemies, nothing, can’t find em. Now all I see is the score at 48, then 49. I’m sitting there raging like a drunken -Yoink-, and manage to pull of a sniper kill seconds before we lose the match.

After the match, I look at my teammates, and of course both of them are around negative 20. At this point, I got up, shut my xbox off, and continued to walk away in a steaming pile of rage, threatening to break something.

That was annoying as hell. And has happened to me quite a bit.

I played a match in arena once where (on uncaged) I grabbed the pro pipe, and preceded to destroy people with it. What was stupid, was I couldn’t get a single kill. I was hitting them directly with it, and all I could do was take donw their sheilds. My teammates preceeded to simply shoot them, giving me I dont know how many assists.

My end score was 17 assists (no joke, I was god awful pissed) and 2 kills, with six deaths. And those to kills were only after I managed to pick up a sniper rifle. I didnt even have time to DMR anyone becuase I would shoot them, and my teammate would finish them off.

To top it all off, at the end of the match one person from the other team sent me a message telling me how god awful I was and that I should play COD. You have absolutley no idea how close I was to punching my fist through the wall, and I have a solid concrete wall.

I’ve had many bad games but the worst that I recall was when I was playing BTB on Breakpoint and the entire enemy team were Inheritors, reclaimers, and etc. and this was back when it was very rare to run into people of that rank. Not even a few minutes into the game all of my team quits except for this one poor guy. (probably just the thought of facing a full party in BTB full of high ranking players was too much for them) Well it was just this dude and I getting spawn-killed by Wraith blasts and snipers. I wasn’t a quitter though and neither was this one guy. If he won’t back down I won’t either…
It was about 15 minutes of us getting slaughtered…

Well after the match some guy on the other team sent me a message saying I sucked [Blargh]
Ah yes, we were expected to put up a good fight while being spawn-killed I forgot.
So the lesson I learned from this was to just quit if in a similar situation again. You can’t really do anything for the team if you’re constantly being killed right off the bat, and it’s not really a team if there’s just one other guy.
I know it was stupid not to quit but I really didn’t want to leave that guy all by himself

Hemorrhage. Enough said.

Not entirely sure what my worst game was (I have a lot of them, unfortunately), but it’s usually either BTB or Invasion, and most of the time, Hemorrhage is the map that gets voted for the most. (Why do people always vote for that terrible map?)
