Any Team Fortress fan is familiar with the iconic power of the Minigun.
In Halo, it’s come in many forms, on Warthogs, and affixed to valuable choke points to keep alien jerks from breaking the line.
Most favorable to me, however, is the ability to rip the sucker off and go into 3rd person view to mow down anyone foolish enough to try and take you from the front.
I really, REALLY hope this ability makes a welcome return, along with other support weapons. The Missle Pod would be nice, and the Flame Thrower, with a decent range buff, would be nice as well. They always felt so potent and badass in 3 and Reach, so it would be nice to have them back in 4. It’s not ALL about dat BR & DMR.
Just a hope for Halo 4. Here’s to the heavy weapons.
Whether or not they return, I’ll find a compelling reason to scream in a Russian Accent while playing Halo 4 anyway.
Cheers, 343.

No problem. If my post brightened ONE person’s day, or made ONE dude think, then I consider it a job well done.
You can’t have a balanced diet without the Breakfast (Breakfast = Flamethrower, it’s because of a screenshot from Halo 3)
I do miss the Flamethrower a lot (and the flame grenades but those are a different subject) And the missile pod in vehicle heavy maps was a nice touch too. Even though I wouldn’t be too disappointed if they didn’t come back, I would really like to see them on the battle field again.
Ω
I want the ability to toggle first person and third person in all third person stuff.
First person vehicles, weapons, etc.
Well, I hope Halo 4 supports BTB and all it’s glory, and that inclu7des a healthy diet of powerful weapons like Gatling or Missile Pod. Rockets or Plasma launcher were way to slow to fit the role of the Missile Pod.
Flamethrower would be a nice addition, longer range and less direct damage, although more/longer damage over time. Should be able to fry systems on vehicles to or kill the driver without hurting the vehicle.
Honestly, I don’t really think it’s in the game sadly. Maybe, perhaps just for campaign, but even there I don’t imagine seeing many turrets. One thing we’ve heard is that there won’t be any weapons on the map, with the only ones you can get is the regular non power weapons such as the BR and the magnum through custom loadouts, and the power weapons are available from called down weapon drops, think CoD care packages except the location isn’t where you want but in predetermined locations that the caller gets notification of before the enemy team.
This doesn’t really leave any room for turrets really, it could be in the game, but I get the feeling it’s going to be another thing alongside dual wielding that 343i writes off because they just don’t want to balance it or don’t think it’s important enough to bother coding, modelling, texturing and animating, or just something that’s left out without a lot of reason such as playable elites.
