Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

I have 3 other requests:

  1. Seperate Spartan and Elite base traits, and give an option to make gametypes either Spartan V Spartan, Elite V Elite or Spartan V Elite for all gametypes including Invasion and Invasion Slayer. This would help to balance out gametypes such as Invasion Slayer.
  2. Make “Bro Spawning” an option in all gametypes.
  3. Make an option to edit Base Traits in Campaign, but make it so that achievements etcetera can only be attained on default mode.
  1. Take out death barriers/barriers in Campaign and Forge. Such as being able to go underwater and forging there in Forge. And also being able to get out of bounds and not dying and forging there as there are many places outside of forge world which can be used for forge.
  2. Take out bloom. I prefer a static reticule.
  3. No AA’s/Nerfed. (Single time use?)
  4. Enable forgable barriers that can’t be seen (I dislike jet packers getting out of map)
  5. H3 Custom game options + More Custom game options (toggles)

> Enable forgable barriers that can’t be seen

Now this is a good idea!

  1. Change DMR bloom. Bloom is amazing, but the current level allows spamming too much. I suggest making the bloom go farther out, but reset quicker.

  2. Major redesign of playlists. “Team Objective” is not specific enough. Here’s my example of better playlist organization, although this is a rough idea.

5 categories: Slayer, Objective, Cooperative, Community, and Premium.

In Slayer is FFA, TD, Living Dead, Squad Slayer, Big Team Slayer, etc.
In Objective is CTF, Assault, Invasion, etc.
In Cooperative is Firefight, Lone Firefight, Doubles Firefight, Campaign, etc.
In Comunity is Community Slayer, Community Objective (maybe split into CTF, Assault, etc., but less of an issue here), MLG, Grifball, RACING, etc.
In Premium is Premium Slayer, Premium CTF, Premium Assault, etc.

  1. More lights in Forge! I want to use more than 2. -.-

  2. 16-player FFA playlist!

  3. Community Invasion playlist?

  1. Remove Bloom or toggle on/off.
  2. Ranking system similar to the Halo 3.
  3. Melee mechanics should be changed back to how it used to be.
  4. nerf armor lock.
  5. Reduce the grenade damage and radius.
  1. Bug/glitch fixes
  2. Nerf armor lock
  3. Nerf grenades
  4. increased movement speed
  5. Add bleed through melee
  1. remove bloom on dmr and needler rifle, fixed firing rate for both, fastes possible killtimes without breaking the sandbox (good aming should be rewarded)
  2. please don´t mess nr. 1 up
  3. remove armour lock
  4. remove deafness after getting hit by a grenade
  5. individual weapon damage settings for custom games
  1. Bloom only on fully auto weapons
  2. Reduce grenade dammage
  3. Ranked playlist(lvl 1-50) trial run including:
    "Team slayer
    "Team objective
    "Double team
    "Lone wolves
    (if sucessfull more playlists)
4)Reduce revnant spalsh physics (as it always flips the worthog)
Well i think this wouldbe the best halo yet

perfect thats the same 5 things i would do halo 3 ranking system remove bloom!!! or toggle off on that makes everyone happy grenades are way to strong and halo 3 beat down system

1: Remove Melee bleedthrough
2: Adjust/Fix bloom
3: Modify how Armor Lock works
4: Sniper rifles should not destroy vehicles
5: Bloom should be larger while jet packing

Explanation:

1: Having no bleed through with Melee is extremely stupid. It allows a lesser skilled player to be on the same level as a higher skilled player. Higher skilled player goes for the accurate DMR shots and melees while the lesser skilled player herapderps him. I mean by that is that player uses sprint + melee + melee. Generally what will happen is the lesser skilled player wins. He abuses the fact you can mindlessly rush and melee. The better skilled player is completely unrewarded for his attempt to be skillful. How is it that brute force isn’t the same as being shot with a sniper rifle at half shields? It’s the exact same concept. Either a bullet or a blunt object is hitting you. I look at shield amount left as how much damage it can take. Say you have low shields (25%) and you get hit by a melee in Halo 3. That melee hits the shields and the shields can only absorb so much. Your melee is softened somewhat by the shields but eventually takes them out and continues through to your actual health and does damage. It’s the same in real life. Halo Reach’s concept is even if you have 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000001% shields left, it can still absorb the same amount of melee as full shields. Completely unrealistic.

2: Bloom isn’t a half bad idea even if most other games have had it already. It may not be the greatest fit to the Halo series, however. All Halo games up until this point have not made use of bloom (I hear Halo 3’s Assault Rifle had an invisible bloom but it wasn’t really noticeable). Why now should it be implemented? Just because this is Bungie’s last game doesn’t mean 5019439680298 changes needed to be made. No matter, if bloom must stay, then please tweak it. As it stands, you can spam bloom and beat a player who paced his shots due to a luck or “slot machine” factor. What’s the point of pacing shots then? I realise spamming bloom doesn’t always work but it works more than it should. Spamming bloom should ONLY work at close range. Skilled players NEED to be REWARDED for their hard work when they pace shots. If they are rewarded, they will only want to pace shots even more. As it is now, it’s spam orientated.

3: It has been beaten to death but I want to show my support. Armor lock is a pathetic gimmick to rip players off from their kills. I can’t count the number of times I’ve almost had a kill only for the enemy to go into his “shell” and be invincible. Sometimes multiple players. Where I’ve gotten one player to the point of death, he armor locks. Shoot another player he armor locks. It’s ridiculous when EVERYBODY is in armor lock. The game slows to a hault because everyone is protected. Again, it’s pathetic. I’m not going to say “OMG TAKE IT OUT” because it’s not as easy as that. I’d like to see it not be as effective so that people don’t rely on it as much. Whether it be less time in armor lock and/or nerfing EMP blast and/or delaying melee usage when you come out of armor lock. It needs to be fixed. The people have spoken 343i.

4: I don’t remember a 50 caliber rifle being anti-vehicle. Then what’s the point of heavy weapons? If you guys needed a way of balancing the game, making random weapons work unrealistically isn’t the answer. Halo 3 had a variation of big team battle called “Heavy BTB” or something like that. Spartan Lasers spawned close to each base and others power weapons were much more available. It was a great way of controlling vehicle usage. There should NOT be one thing a player can jump into and have no counter. That’s basically giving him a super weapon. It’s gotta be like rock, paper, scissors. In this case, just make the weapons more available so it’s not just “the other team has all the vehicles and it’s game over”. Short answer? Snipers should not destroy vehicles. End of story.

5: Movement always increases bloom. Take a look at COD or any other similar game. If you’re standing still, your accuracy is better. Crouching or prone is even better. Less movement the better. So jet packing doesn’t increase bloom? I mean you’re jet packing. That’s a ton of movement and vibration. Bloom needs to be increased. Especially since jet packs destroy map design. I can’t count the number of Reflection games where it was just a jet pack race to the top and then you knock off one team, that team returns with jet packs and grenades. It then goes through an endless cycle until one team wins. That’s terrible. At least give players a reason not to jet pack. Decreasing accuracy would be a good start.

I realise I had a ridiculous long explanation but I gave my brief suggestions above  Then I explained. You can’t suggest without explaining why.

> perfect thats the same 5 things i would do halo 3 ranking system remove bloom!!! or toggle off on that makes everyone happy grenades are way to strong and halo 3 beat down system

so halo 3.5, reach edition?

  1. Bloom scale(100%, 90%75% 50% etc)
  2. Beta armor lock
  3. Forced species custom game option
  4. No sword block
  5. not specifically TU, but more invasion maps.
  1. fix the AR (went back to H3 and could use the AR like a dream)

  2. fix vehicle damage, very annoyed by the dmr

  3. Nerf the friggen banshee bomb please!

  4. brighter graphics (i wish…)

  5. Make halo fun again 343!

  1. Most AAs need rebalancing. Mainly Armor Lock and Hologram always being red on radar.

  2. Bloom, DMR especially

  3. Vehicles stronger so the sniper isn’t an anti-vehicle weapon.

  4. Nerf grenades slightly or make all playlist start with 1 grenade.

  5. Make pistol 10 shots per clip rather than 8

my top 5: and yes i know its only a title update

1.delete all AA’s,AA’s doesnt belong to halo, its no COD!!!its like adding a plasma pistol to COD /OR JUST DELETE ARMOR LOCK

2.bring the br back or just make the dmr to a 3shot gun like the br,and no aim that gets bigger after shooting

3.old movment, jump height and so on,reach spartans are so fat they cant even jump!

4.A HALO GAME NEEDS A RANKING SYSTEM!!!

5.some new maps,if im sniping i only play 1 or 2 maps instantly!!!uncaged,atom,or hemorrage

FIX MELEE SYSTEM!!!

ADD BLEED THROUGH TO ALL WEAPONS!!

Make the anniversary playlist(s) have:

  1. No bloom
  2. Melee bleedthrough
  3. Different base traits (movement/jump)
  4. No fall damage
  5. No AAs/AAs as pick ups

Make default Reach have:

  1. Fix Revenant auto aim Glitch
  2. 75% melee damage as deafult for every playlist
  3. Armor lock nerf (remove sticky nade shedding, frosting and 360 view)
  4. Arena division symbol visible everywere
  5. Nerf Grenades (15% less damage) for every playlist

This is simple…

  1. Don’t take out armor lock, nerf it. Change the duration of armor lock from, what is it like 5-6 seconds, down to like 3 seconds (short enough so the armor lock user won’t come out his armor lock with his shields recharging). Also, it’d be nice if something could cancel armor lock (like a sword melee or overcharged plasma pistol blast).

  2. I would LOVE to see a revamped melee system! Bring back Halo 3’s system. First shot means nothing anymore in a close quarters fight. You could get the first three shots in the guy but (so long as neither one of your shields pop) if you both melee each other you will end up with the same health (that’s ridiculous).

  3. I think that ordinary weapons like the dmr and assault rifle should not have the capabilities to destroy a vehicle on its own (but a sniper rifle should!). Making the sniper rifle capable of destroying enemy vehicles balances the game, especially with a lack of other weapons that can (i’m referring to the lack of a missile pod and power drain to take down vehicles). It also makes the game more tactical. The sniper has to make a choice to aim for metal or flesh for kills.

  4. Beef up the assault rifle. It has consistency issues (sometimes not having enough ammo, or fire power, to kill an enemy with a single clip).

  5. Lower the blast radius or the damage modifier (whichever is easier) of the frag grenades. You can die by a perfectly placed grenade when you have full shields!

  6. Definately try a new ranking system (I recommend copying the one from halo 3) but you might have your own ideas for it.

  7. Nerf the banshee (make it weaker or decrease the damage modifier of its bombs). Either one of these nerfs will do but it is a broken powerhouse in BTB right now posting up untouchables for anyone using it (which is an argument as to why the sniper rifle should be allowed to destroy it).

  8. I don’t think adding in an undo button in forge is possible…

  9. Allow parties of two or more people to watch the same film clip.

  10. It’d be nice to have an MVP award at the end of the game again.

  11. Fix the sword’s melee system (specifically how you can get a bulltrue medal but still die by the sword).

  12. Just for fun, could you possibly consider adding in REAL infection maps to the Living Dead playlist? Kinda like adding in community maps into Team Slayer etc.

and finally…

  1. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER REMOVING OR TOGGLING THE RETICLE BLOOM FOR ANY GUN! The guns are specific to the bloom and to remove the bloom would mean altering the weapon as well (i.e taking away the bloom on the dmr would also mean having to nerf its rate of fire and damage output to prevent spamming) which would only lead to more updates needed to the game. I do feel the bloom needs to be adjusted to prevent spamming on all ranges except close range (as you mentioned above) but in the end not updating the reticle bloom at all is also a highly practical choice. LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY THIS: The current reticle bloom is as close to perfect as it can get (minus the ability to accurately spam at mid to long range) and adds a fun aspect to halo in that every dmr battle is somewhat unique and different (in how you pace your shots) and that patience and accuracy (and overall skill) pays off 99% of the time. KEEP IT UP.

IN REGARDS TO YOUR 4TH EXPLANATION:

-The 50 cal. round is anti-vehicle. I don’t know what military channel your watching but the 50 cal. round was designed for vehicles. It’s only realistic that the 50 cal. sniper in Halo also has the same capability.

-Also, what takes more skill? Lasering a vehicle or sniping it? It’s clear that sniping a vehicle takes more skill, accuracy and is more time consuming. It’s easy to just laser a vehicle but to snipe it 4 to 8 times is a challenge (especially when the banshee’s pilot starts dodging your shots… you’ll lose a lot of crucial sniper ammo!)

IN REGARDS TO YOUR 5TH EXPLANATION:

  • So you’re telling me that the jet pack basically needs a nerfing? Really? Jetpacking makes a loud noise (giving away your position) and ultimately provides you with NO COVER! You might as well hold up a giant sign that says “KILL ME” on it. Sorry, but if you can’t kill a helpless jetpacker that isn’t a sign that the jetpack should be nerfed, it’s a sign that you need to find a new game.

343 please do not listen to the suggestions listed above (not just The New 6uys but everyone supporting the above ideas)
-The sniper takes skill and should be allowed to take out a vehicle if you are accurate and lucky enough to do so (plus you lose half it’s ammo taking down ONE vehicle, that sounds balanced to me).
and
-The jetpack already has it’s weaknesses. Focus on armorlock more.

  1. Make the laser a weapon worth using, both by fixing net-code with respect to hit-scan (so non-host players don’t need to worry about a dragging weapons, a problem no game, that I can recall, has ever had to worry about,) as well as rebalancing it’s damage, charge time, and battery.
  2. Remove the fuel rod on the banshee. Tie it’s evade into the boost meter as well. Both are justified in the line of “let’s get rid of the -Yoink- vehicle balance that this ‘AAA’ game somehow shipped with.”
  3. Reduce the vehicle damage on both the sniper rifle and DMR. We have purpose built AV weapons, no need to start spoiling niches because you self-justifyingly don’t expect players to be man enough to use the rest of the sandbox.
  4. Fix the god -Yoink!- AI. I know this isn’t a multiplayer suggestion but for -Yoink-'s sake Halo CE did a better job at every single behavior. EVERY ONE. Hell even if Keyes still emptied a full clip of neelder ammo into a corpse it still would be considerable improvement from Noble Team’s complete dysfunction.
  5. Reduce the DMR’s clip size.
  1. Fix the glitches/bugs.
  2. Tweak the armor abilities so they’re more fair.
  3. Kinda goes with glitches/bugs but make it so we can actually see our shoulder pieces in 1st person view.
  4. Add new armor perhaps.
  5. Make it so the game will be fun for both casuals and competitives without moving all the love to the competitives. Halo 3 was way too in love with competitives in my opinion and just made for a game that was only really fun for casuals if they stayed in customs and campaign or if they decided to train themselves to be good enough to win against other players, which essentially turned them into competitives themselves. It’s also likely the fact that Halo 3 was too skill-based that drove off many people to go play CoD instead.
