First Post*… bear with me.
Assuming that the TU can alter the very foundation of this game and it’s gamplay elements I could get ridicolously crazy about what I would love to see. And assuming it can’t… I’ll just stick with the second one for realism. Now I’m not gonna number this or anything like that, just going to list off what could use a fixer-upper or an addition that would be Gruntacular.
-Just about every soul on this forum wants the BLOOMING fixed especially with the DMR. The problem with forcing people to pace the shots is the maps. The maps, for the most part, aren’t exactly massive and open, with a very few exceptions. Meaning you might not see an opponent long enough to be a good marksmen and will force most to fire the DMR at its max rate before the victim might chicken out and turn the next corner to recover. This makes blooming a very tricky thing to alter and could make or break the TU by fixing. However the PISTOL should get a smaller bloom. I feel like it has more recoil than the DMR being it’s soul purpose to make 1 shot on a lacking-shields enemy. I personally would LOVE to use the pistol as an almost primary weapon. For removing shields and executing targets with a bit more reliabilty in my PISTOL alone (but NOT to the point where my AR is duller).

-Armor Lock… What the Grunt. We hate it, but we shouldn’t remove it. Lets show a little love for Bungie trying something new.
Lets face it, it NEEDS a do-over. I believe it’s duration is about 5 seconds, or so. It’s duration is to long. BUT! It’s hard to judge because assuming it’s a Team Slayer game, 4 enemies, 2 grenades a pop. 8 chances to get PWNED. And it’s everyones instinct to toss a grenade, or two, at the Armor Locking fool. (AND maybe we should dull the grenades down to 1 per Spawn?) To fix the problem the EMP needs quite a bit more OOMPH! Pushing away grenades a lot farther away than the tip of the blast radius. More than 1 at the tip of the radius will kill you. So shorten it’s duration and making the EMP “OOMPH” stronger might make more since. You be the judge…s
(After a few moments of gasping) Somone grab me a water… (glug, glug, glug…) Ahhhh. Let’s continue.
-Tossing Grenades it a bit of a hassle. I’m not saying I’m missing my pointer finger, but remember Halo 3: ODST?
It’s grenade toss system was awesome. You could look where you wanted it to go with your target. Pull LT or whatever and bam! A stick or well placed frag everytime. It would prove better for the gang bang situations and you want to guarantee at least a single kill from your effort to take them on.
Not too much said, I caught my breath. Still more…
-Armory needs new stuff and lots of it! For me in particular though would be Armor Effects. I have both the Legendary Flames and the Eternal Flames. Which is cool but the only other half descent one is the one that suggests you hand over your soul to Bungie. (Inclement Weather, duh.) I have a few new ones to propose and should be no more than, oh… 500K? maybe 750K but thats it. Here they are.
-When you die, you burst into Flames. And it doesnt have to damage others. Call it “Combustion” Nice huh?
This on mixes both alive and dead here are two varitations.
-While alive, Rainbows or a single Rainbow can trail or illuminate from the player. When killed, the rainbow(s) can shoot of the player. Admit it, freakin’ awesome. Call it “Dreamer”?
And just one more.
-While alive, the player while will shine like a Fourth of July Sparkler, upon death player will expel one “civilian” sized firework from there head in varying colors. (So its a wee bit different.)
So thats really it. I’m more up for keeping this a Bungie Studios game, but with a few 343 Industries changes or twists. So by all means, what do you think everyone? You to Honcho’s who started this forum!!!
Oh one last thing, Elites need to be implemented in all or more games types than just Invasion and Elite Slayer. Like Halo 3 where it didnt matter. (Considering the differnence between Elite and Spartan is next to none, why not?)
- Bloomless playlist (dmr, needle rifle, pistol and snipe) but keep bloom on automatic weapons though (assault rifle, plasma rifle).
- Add damage bleed-through to melee’s and all weapons. (I hate the current beatdown system, it’s limited)
- Faster strafe acceleration, I don’t want to feel like I weigh a million pounds when moving left to right to left.
- Nerf the nades.
- Fix the ranking system. I get matched up with COMPLETE idiots sometimes, jesus.

Smaller intervals in weapon damage and damage resistance in custom gametypes/better powerups.

I like the community’s judgement on AL and Bloom, but what I’d like to see in the TU would be that Main Menu background change more often, instead of having to progress through acts of the campaign. It gets stale after 11 months of Covenant Cruisers glassing the surface. .-.

REMOVE BLOOM!!! Cap the rate of fire on all weapons so that they are always accurate, so the winner is determined by skill.

Buff all weapons except the Sniper for faster gameplay across the board. Nerf the Sniper’s vehicle destruction capacity at the very least.
If you don’t do this either way WE MUST have Individual Weapon/Vehicle Settings in Reach and more importantly HALO 4. This will allow us to create far more precise gametypes than ever before, and open up new possibilities.

Well, me and my brothers have had a lot of time to think, and we have come up with some smaller tweaks to reach (and when I say smaller I mean nothing like "Nerf AL, It’s -Yoink- and a complete game-winner, remove it. etc)
And on that particular note…
- Matchmaking
Armor Lock-
1st person view, can only look the way you were looking when you started Armor-Locking, with a bright white glow to make it harder to target enemies. this also stops Lock-Turn-Punch-Lock-Turn-Punch-Lock etcetcetc.
Banshee-
Set it so that Banshee “Tricks” use up 1/2 of the “boost” charge, so that the endless bombing and flipping that we see doesn’t interrupt fun games. (also, increasing the bomb charge-up time would be great, but make it more accurate when locked-on.)
Halo 3-VIP games-
They were great! Who doesn’t like Halo 3’s VIP games?
Bloom-
I find that I can still get a guaranteed headshot whilst spamming that DMR or Pistol. And the Repeater doesn’t seem to get that much worse, either. set it so that spamming sends bullets **everywhere.**Hologram- Make the “holo-figure” appear Red on our Radar, and NOT make that whizzing sound. Just that little bit obvious?
Bleed-through-
Now, this isn’t something I’m a big fan of, but when you fill a Spartan full of bullets and you both close in for the Melee, you both end up in the same situation, even if they didn’t fire a shot! My brother came up with a great idea, I quote:
“If you’re melee’d at half shields, you end up with half health, but if you’re melee’d with a tiny flicker of shield, you don’t die, you end up on red flashing health.” Meaning that shoot-run-smack is more effective than run-smack, but doesn’t immediately finish the fight. (see what I did there?? :D)
-SvE Slayer, Beta style.
-Beta-Style Generator Defense (3Spartans, 3Elites, Covies or not)
-Pump up the Shade (Pump it up, While you’re feet are Stompin’ - Spartan A237)
**-**Evade for Elites with Swords on Invasion, and set it so that your sword needs to power up after sprinting.
-More Assassinations!!
-Sort out that SpLaser Problem!
-Make it more tough on betrayers, ie. Shooting an ally then the enemy getting the kill either negatively impacts Spawn Time, Credits gained, or if constant, gives a Boot option.
- Forge additions-
-Give that Monitor a -Yoink-ing Laser, and power it up to the max, i’m sick of being shot out of the sky.
-Set it so that only the host can become Monitor, or that THe others can be Monitor, but not Forge, or use Laser (etc)
-More Forge Items, like Covvie-themed items or UNSC Stuff.
-Weather effects become placeables like Special Effects.
-Forge-World Themes. This one takes some explaining. a bit. You can make the grass and mountains (and possibly water) change like special effects. What this gives you is the opportunity to make Forge World a sandy map, snowy, or gravel-covered, or possibly Flood-infested. Also, the rock colour can change, like a sand-stoney colour, or dark brick-red. And the water, possibly, can become a thick green sludge (think Flood) or even Lava. I mean, imagine Forge World with dark black mountains, gravelly floor, and LAVA (which obviously kills you, leaving two paths: Jetpack or bridges).
-Last forge one (Promise!) Motion paths for objects. This would be awkward, I know, but this gives us stuff like meteor showers, moving platforms and opening and shutting doors. see where I’m coming from?
These next ones are shorter.
3) More armor, for different accomplishments. ie. Close Quarters Onyx would get you a knife wristor something like that, whilst Small Arms Onyx gives you pistol clips on your utility leg. Completing the OTHER Halo’s or doing things there would also help, ie. Halo 3 would give you Cheif’s chest-plate, and ODST would bag you Romeo’s huge shoulder-pad or Mickey’s shotgun shells around his leg. and Wars would bag you Arbiter Elite armour, and Halo 3 Co-op would get you the old Pilot elite armour (think that red co-op elite on H3), not to mention that Ascetic Armour.
Of course there would be armour “to buy” like SPI, Hayabusa (Perhaps that white bit needs changing) and Rogue (MkVI(A)), not to mention the old Recon Chestplate and Shoulder pads, so finally, we can haz full Recon.
(And Visor Colours!!! - Spartan A237) Perhaps even add in Brute Skins for the Elites (Still play like Elites, just throw in a Spiker in the loadouts), or old Halo 3 Elite designs!

Colours.
Add in a load more colours, or even better a full colour wheel, so that we can fully customise our Spartans and Elites. Also, have the old Invasion Colours - Blue-Purples and Greens, and the Beta Elite colours. Just go find the Beta-Test Elites on Google or something, they look amazing**. (Better yet, there are old Beta videos on Waypoint, go find them! -LanceAKerr)** Change the colours of the Vehicles, either Team Colour, Set Colour or Beta-Test Colour (Wraith and Banshee, mainly) -
Firefight-
(Thought I’d try Wort-ing my way out; Blarg things up a little. - Spartan A237)
Why not throw in New firefight options (This one might be quite long, I lied earlier.)
-Drones
-Zealots (make them -Yoink-ing Solid!
-The ability to Remove Bonus Rounds entirely, or make them infinite
-Good old Halo 3 Hunters with Beam Assault Cannons.
-Grunt Ultra waves (All with Face-Masks)
-Inclusion of more vehicles (Banshee waves or Ghost waves with a couple Revenants, and just throw in a Scorpion on our side for the hell of it, not to mention the other 2 'Hogs you’ve forgot all about.) (Perhaps even a Firefight that’s your group in Falcons against everything else! Banshees, Shades, the lot. -LanceAKerr)
- A firefight where you’re Elites up against UNSC instead of the usual other way around.
-Flood!! (If of course you’re not putting that into Anniversary…)
And that might be it! (Finally!! -Spartan A237 and LanceAKerr)
- Remove bloom on precision weapons and increase it on automatic weapons.
- Add bleed-through to the beat down system.
- Add a ranking system.
- Reduce grenade splash damage.
- Option to choose specific load-outs for each playlist, (so every player has the same Armour ability).

MELEE WEAPONS
ENERGY SWORD: Remove Sword Block or add an on/off toggle for Custom Games that is always off in MM
GRAVITY HAMMER: Decrease lunge range and the time between trigger pulled and shockwave released (by shortening the animation).
AUTOMATIC WEAPONS
ASSAULT RIFLE: Increase clip size to 60 and make it 17 bullets, not 18, to kill a fully shielded target
PLASMA RIFLE: Increase health damage by 10% and overheat time by a quarter.
PLASMA REPEATER: Increase plasma bolt movement speed and increase shield damage by 20%.
PLASMA PISTOL: Decrease the tracking of an overcharged bolt of plasma, but only on players and not vehicles.
NEEDLER: Decrease tracking slightly to counteract slower movement speeds.
SPIKER: Massively increase both shield and health damage to the power of dual-wielded duos from Halo 3, but decrease RoF to counteract this. This is not so much of a fix as just making it unique from other weapons.
PRECISION WEAPONS
DESIGNATED MARKSMAN RIFLE: Give it a 2x Scope so that it is not so overpowering over long distances but counteract this with a faster reset and growth for bloom. Decrease it’s damage to vehicles to the point that it takes 135 bullets to destroy a Banshee, and complete remove it and the Magnum’s abilities to significant alter the direction of, or flip, a vehicle.
NEEDLE RIFLE: Make it a 7-shot.
MAGNUM: Increase bloom reset speed by 40%.
DEMOLITION WEAPONS
ROCKET LAUNCHER: Decrease splash-damage slightly.
FUEL ROD GUN: Decrease the angle at which a fuel rod will bounce off of the floor at and decrease RoF slightly.
SHOTGUN: Increase clip size to 12 and slightly increase effective range.
CONCUSSION RIFLE: Slightly increase damage.
GRENADE LAUNCHER: Absolutely fine, keep it exactly as it is.
PLASMA GRENADE LAUNCHER: Increase tracking to about halfway between now and the Halo: Reach Beta.
LONG-DISTANCE WEAPONS
SNIPER RIFLE: Decrease RoF 10% and decrease damage to vehicles so that it takes 12 bullets, not 5, to destroy a Banshee
FOCUS RIFLE: Make damage inflicted per second be increased the further the beam has travelled.
SPARTAN LAZER: Increase to 5 shots per battery and make it a 1-shot kill even on tanks.
GRENADES
FRAGMENTATION GRENADES: Increase fuse length by three quarters of a second.
PLASMA GRENADES: Absolutely fine.

Vehicle Sandbox
Mongoose: Increase speed, but also increase weight massively so that it doesn’t always flip.
Warthog: Make the Warthog much more “ground-hugging” and definitely heavier. EG, if it lands on its nose it will not overturn.
REGULAR: Slightly increase turret damage.
GAUSS: Decrease RoF and remove the shooting-through-forge-objects glitch.
ROCKET: Slightly increase splash damage.
Ghost: Increase Plasma Cannon damage to its Halo 3 level and make the fuel tank doubly resistant to damage than it is now.
Banshee: Make it exactly how it was damage-wise in Halo 3, and make flips consume one fifth of the boost meter.
Revenant: Remove the auto-aim and random-fly-through-air-really-fast-into-wall glitches.
Falcon: Increase height gained per second when LT is pressed.
Scorpion: Decrease overall damage by 20%, but increase RoF to Halo 2 level.
Wraith: Increase rate of fire 1.5x and acceleration during boost and deceleration after 2x. -
Armor Ability Sandbox
AL: Remove EMP except for after a full charge, remove the Ghost 'splodin abilities it possesses or possibly add a toggle and decrease length to 3 seconds. Also remove the stun received from punching someone in AL.
Hologram: Remove any flicker apart from just before the Hologram deactivates, and make sure it always shows up red on the enemy radar.
Sprint: Remove that panting noise for the user and teammates of the user.
Evade: Fix Spartan Evade hitboxes.
Jetpack: Increase duration by a quarter but decrease upwards lift slightly.
Active Camo: Make it so that you can walk slowly (without crouching) and still be almost see-through. Maintain the radar-jamming capabilities, but have the user show up as grey so as to alert enemies.
Drop Shield: Make it able to withstand 3 direct Scorpion blasts and last 25 seconds, but have it only one use per minute and a half to counteract this. -
Melee: Add an on/off toggle for bleedthrough, and make it so that when “on” the Melee depletes the equivalent of all shields and one fifth of health.

Exterminate the issues surrounding Bloom, or exterminate the source itself.

The movement of normal matchmaking should be “sped-up”.
-110 or 120% movement speed.
-Increased jump height or gravity -
Armor Ability Changes:
-Sprint: Perfect to me. Seemingly balanced.
-Jetpack: Significantly perfect. My favourite AA. Very balanced.
-Armor Lock: REQUIRES MANY ALTERATIONS! Incredulously unbalanced.
-Hologram: Seemingly perfect and balanced. One alteration though: make it appear Red on Enemy Radars.
-Active Camo: In my honest opinion, this could definitely use some alteration. Either make it to where you are 100% invisible no matter how fast you move, or scrap the radar jammer effect.
-Evade: Seemingly perfect. One tip: Scale the evasion length to the proper size of the player model. Spartans should not be able to leap as far as Elites.
-Drop Shield: Perfect to me. Seemingly balanced. -
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary should have a GRAND ENTRACE in Reach multiplayer. By this, I mean construct it’s matchmaking playlist(s) so that the gametypes it has are crafted using high-end developer tools (Action Sack and Insane Gametypes, anyone?) so that the gameplay experience of the Anniversary playlist reflects almost all the aspects of the original CE multiplayer.
