Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

Ideally all of these would be custom options:

  1. Longer fuse time for frags
  2. Bring back melee bleed thru
  3. NO bloom
  4. Retool armor lock, or drop all AAs
  5. Improve the framerate

If we’re in wish mode I’d like to see these 2 things also:

  • Bring back unlimited grenades as a custom option. I loved Longest in CE with unlimited plasmas and shotguns.
  • Plasma stun… nuff said.

2. Fix grenades
Grenades should never kill a player while at full shields and they should not “home in” on players (while this effect is very subtle, it is definitely there). Fix their bounce physics to make grenade bouncing consistent like in Halo 3. No more grenades thrown only to clunk down on the ground like a rock.

3. Fix/supplement the ranking system
Bring back 1-50. Why? Because people like it and it’s accurate. Also bring back overall and playlist EXP (one EXP per win, just like Halo 3) and make it retroactive.

4. Fix the vehicles
Banshee: Reduce the radius of the bomb blast, increase the power of the normal shots and slightly decrease how fast the boost regenerates.

Ghost: Increase its armor.

Revenant: Increase shot travel speed. Fix sideseat autoaim glitch.

Warthog (all): Increase its armor.

Rocket Warthog: Increase rocket damage.

Gauss Warthog: Fix the noclip glitch with gauss shots.

Remove loadouts across the board, even sprint. Armor abilities should only be available as powerups at the most. Increase movement speed across the board. Bring back conventional powerups. Enable health regen across the board.

In short, reward the skilled players and reduce randomness.

  1. Bring back Halo 3 movement mechanics. Astronaut jumping and retardedly fast walking were awesome because they provided a way to avoid grenade spam, move around the map quickly, and make fights more interesting.
  2. COMPLETELY remove Bloom. Bloom is just a bad idea period. Tweak weapons accordingly if this makes them unbalanced (for instance, include slight bullet spread to the DMR so that it can’t easily 5 shot cross map)
  3. Fix the grenades. I don’t know what the crap is wrong with those grenades but they bounce wrong and are evidently slightly magnetic. That’s just wrong. However, keep their explosion damage/radius the same (if they really are the same as Halo 3’s) On the topic of grenades, there should be a grenade damage modifier in custom games. We have a normal damage modifier and a melee damage modifier, why leave nades out?
  4. We need ranked playlists that people will actually play. Arena doesn’t count. And why is it only slayer? Sure 1-50 was flawed but people still played 1-50. Look at Arena. The whole Ranked and Social thing worked perfectly. Either way though, we need a change from the current playlist setup that will satisfy casual players AND competitive players.
  5. Vehicles need to change. Banshees absolutely destroy BTB games when there aren’t full teams. Scorpions really should not exist in matchmaking. Warthogs need to stop flipping so fast. The passenger seat glitch is dumb. Revenants need some kind of buff to their gun, same with ghosts. Armor Lock needs to stop shredding vehicles when they are going half speed.

And here’s a biggy that does not require a title update.
MAKE AAS PICKUP

I realize it sounds like I’m asking for Halo 3.5 but that’s not the case. Reach still has plenty of things distinguishing it from Halo 3. I just think these changes will at least remove a lot of the frustrations found in Reach Matchmaking.

  1. Destruction of bloom.

  2. Stronger vehicles, or weaken the DMR on vehicles, when I get a banshee, I usually get shot down by DMRs not Rockets or SpLasers or Plasma launchers, DMRs.

  3. No Sniper destroying vehicles. It was a stupid, want to stop a vehicle with a sniper, then SNIPE the driver then while theyre immobile kill the others.

  4. AL isn’t too bad, but I hat instantly looking anywhere and meleeing someone who happened to be dumb enough to wait right behind them. Just nerf it.

  5. Make a race matchmaking section. It would be fun as hell.

  1. a. Bring back the Halo 2 1-50 (or H3 if we have to)
    b. Show rank on the front of your service record.

  2. Get rid of bloom or make it impossible for spammers

  3. Bleed through damage should be put into effect so somebody can’t double beatdown you after you put 3 shots into them already.

Remove the Bloom or just give us 1 long distance Gun ( Battle Rifle, Pistol, or something) without bloom that can be used in a certain playlist (Team Classic or whatever)

-Remove bloom from all weapons. Alter weapons to work with this change. DMR: Rate of fire cap, enlarge reticle to about BR size, add a small amount of spread and decrease the maximum zoom to 2x rather than 3x. NR: enlarge reticle to about Carbine size, add small amount of spread, and introduce a rate of fire cap. AR:Decrease size of reticle and re-introduce spread.

**-Nerf grenades :**Slight increase in the fuse time, lower damage radius and overall damage. A perfect grenade to completely abolish a fully shielded opponent but inflict NO health damage. (This applies only to fragmentation grenades, perfect plasmas will still be a one hit kill

-Melee Bleed Through Damage. This needs to be introduced again in almost the same format as in Halo 3. For a perfect kill, Enemy must have 1/3 or less shield to be one hit killed by a melee. Decrease the lunge distance and the lunge auto-aim

-Alter Armor abilities or completely remove them: Alterations: AL: Limited to a 3 second maximum, 1 time use. Increase recharge time. NO EMP EFFECT. Sprint: Lower to 3/4 of it’s current maximum distance. Increase recharge time. Hologram: Increase recharge time. Jetpack: Rename to “Jump Jet” which allows a players a very high jump (Similar to what is found in a Halo 3 deployable gravity lift) which can only be used once. Increase he recharge time to about the same as AL. Evade: Limit to 1 roll, increase recharge time. Drop shield. Limited to one use per life (I’d rather see this as a map pickup). 3 grenades/5 melees/1 PP overcharge will destroy it. Camo: Completely remove this AA and add traditional active camo powerups as seen fit on default maps.

- Miscellaneous changes:
-Increase Laser Splash damage
-Nerf Banshee Bomb
-Increase Base Player Movement Speed by 5%
-Increase Base Jump Height by 10%
-Add better ranking system (1-50) with playlist EXP. Best ranking system to date

It doesn’t need a title update, but melee should be three hit kill. Bleed through or no bleed through, melees that can kill in two hits are limited in halo.

  1. revenant auto auto aim glitch and warping glitches with covie vehicles

  2. update the basic invasion gametype to allow for the assault arm and detonate time to be set independently and make the bomb auto reset if out of map (this is for custom forged invasion maps)

  3. increase power of shade turret

  4. fix map overwrite glitch

  5. if possible optimize file browser

I feel that reach has extremly balanced and dynamic game play, it should not be changed.

but i would enjoy bloom toggle and other options that would change custom games and the classic playlist

I would like to amend my previous post where I listed my top 5 desired changes:

  1. Nerf Armour Lock.
  2. Nerf the Banshee.
  3. Tweak the DMR’s bloom system so that it punishes spammers more effectively.
  4. Overhaul the current playlist setup, taking inspiration from Halo 2/3’s matchmaking structure and ranking system.
  5. Change vehicle health to how it was implemented in Halo 3.

  1. Put in a Ranking System, preferably 1 to 50, and Set it so people searching in 3s or 4s only match people searching 3s or 4s.

  2. Remove receiving damage for falling from a certain height.

  3. Remove sword block.

  4. Bloom fix.

  5. Fix this: That 2 people can snipe each other, you can both kill each other with DMR’s at the same time, In halo 3 the shotgun bet the sword, in Reach when a player has a sword and that players opponent has a shotgun, they usually trade, it regularly happens to me that when I out DMR someone they are dead and still shoot a shot, killing me… It’s seriously getting annoying!

I don’t care enough about other things.
Also, disable all Reach servers so the awful game is forced to die and people play Halo 3 again.

  1. Remove bloom from ALL precision weapons (DMR, NR, and Pistol). For the DMR, change its fire rate to one shot every .4 seconds and make it a 4-shot kill on headshots, 8-shot kill with body shots, and reduce the bullet magnetism to better reflect the aiming difficulty you’ll see on LAN. This will ensure that it better emulates the kill times of Halo CE, which is the best Halo, while not making the weapon overpowered. To ensure that it doesn’t overpower other weapons, make the AR a 16-shot kill again, and the sandbox will be balanced.

  2. Change the way fragmentation grenade function so that they can only detonate after fully settling on the floor, with a 1.5second fuse. This will prevent the “heat-seaking” nades that occur where the grenade bounces then floats in midair, during which it appears to home in on enemies and explode. Another alternative is to revert them to pre-patch Halo 2 strength, which will suit the movement speed and jump height in Reach.

  3. Change default movement speeds to those of Combat Evolved.

  4. Reduce DMR damage to vehicles, overhaul the way the Warthog works so it doesn’t flip as often, remove overheating from turret weapons and vehicles.

  5. Reinstate 1-50, but think of methods that will counter deranking, account selling/buying, and other issues that the former ranking system brought with it. Also, take more action against cheaters that are found in Arena.

3 hit kill melee was in Halo CE and Halo 2 and worked fine with bleedthrough. Melee should NOT be the one-two herpaderp sprint melee melee retardation that occurs in Reach.
