Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

Hey there. The Title Update is a very important step into improving reach right now. And it should be done the right way, the fans way.

1-Bloom :I have no idea where to start! How random it is! How are the DMR battles like flipping a coin. It’s broken. It just dosen’t work. Bloom never existed in a previous Halo title. Ever. And Reach is not different! Bloom simply “Destroyes” gameplay.
It should be tweaked or, hell. REMOVED! It dosen’t exsist in a Halo game.

2-Rank: Again. This is the main, and the I do mean the main reason that Reach has a relatively low population. When people have nothing to work for. And no bragging rights. It’s meaningless to keep playing. I loved my 50, and I loved getting to it. It’s was ab out the journey, not the destination. The feel of reward, and joy. I couldn’t compare it to anything. Not even -Yoink!-.

2b: Rank wasn’t only about showing off. It matched you with people equal to your skill. So matches got competitive and close. I remember in Halo 3 Team Slayer. Matches would get so hectic, I would start sweating. I hate owning casual gamers who use the AR, and vote for slayer. Teams are unfair, and sometimes just out of the equation. True skill, is a fail. We don’t want it.

3- BleedTHRO: Bleedthrough just promotes sprinting for beatdowns. Why? Because if I put 3 shots on someone and he puts not a single shot on me. Then he sprints for the beatdown and be both melee. It’s will result in both of us equal health. Which just made my shots just pointless. THIS needs to go.

4- AA’s: These ***** just ruin every bit of strategy that can be played. Jetpack ruins map placment, and set ups.AL, which is my main problem in Reach. IT IS TOO OP! It’s a ability, that makes you invincible, and makes the other a one shot, and recovers your health. It’s only missing a instant nuke on everyone. Sprint is all right, it speeds up gameplay. I like it.

I can’t not stress how bad these updates are needed. Reach needs them. We need them. Competitive gaming needs them. MLG needs it.

  1. More emphasis on individual skill. The utility weapon needs to kill faster but be harder to use than it currently is.
    Please make the magnum the utility weapon.
  1. Make the Plasma Repeater a little more accurate.
  2. Fix the glitch were random maps from your map library get deleted.
  3. Fix Bloom.
  4. Fix the Sniper Rifle, why? Its pretty much anti-everything.
  5. Could not think of a 5th,

1: Armor Lock Nerfed by the duration ebing reduced to 3 seconds long, frosting removed and EMP only working after the full 3 seconds.

2: AR and Plasma Repeater Buffed.

3: VIP!

4: Melees nerfed in some way to make people actually use their guns.

5: If possible framerate issues fixed…

StartFragment 1. (Ability to explore a map)- this is directed towards the campaign of halo 4. I would want the campaign to resemble the campaign in halo 2, the city level of the campaign was huge and hats what I remember and appreciate. Take away kill boundaries. They keep players inbound yes, but its a tool that makes the player disconnected from the entire map and just limits you.

Add on- (Extensive campaign). I would love a long thought out campaign. With great environments and unique circumstances that make what your doing enjoyable.

  1. (Lean towards halo 3 Rankings) - I like the credit system that halo reach incorporated, but I believe that halo 4 multiplayer should have a ranking system like halo 3. No Arena but a ranked and social category, but no matter what playlist your earn credits towards armor and other things. I think the community likes the idea of progressing to a certain rank because of your skill rather than time spent. Although the rankings have no real affect on multiplayer matching, so it could be left up to interpretation.

  2. (Removing loadout’s but keeping AA as a item that can be obtained as a part of the map) - I think AA are a great addition to halo but the ability for people to choose there ability allows gameplay to suffer. Armor lock and camouflage in particular are clogging Abilities that take the skill out of the battle more times than not. Like in the campaign I believe that AA can be held onto for the amount of time you are alive and should be picked up once picked up. The same way power weapons are targeted; AA would be sought out in the map. This would balance out skill and AA to where they work together as one those 2 separate entities.

  3. (FORGE!!!) - I Love forge and I believe halo reach got it perfect with forge world. It’s a great way to involve community and it brings a completely different aspect to halo. I would love as an addition a feature that allows you to create a piece. This would allow you to bend, stretch, and create the perfect piece for your map. I believe doubling creativity and creation.

  4. (ALL things that I want to continue to see) - Skulls, custom armor, file share, forge, credits (not for ranking), can keep bloom or not I don’t have a problem with it, sandtrap avalanche, hemorrhage, health system, Keep same amount of gametypes (there are a lot and I appreciate that), DMR over BR, Brute Shot, NO Focus rifle, and Great Multiplayer maps.

This would make the best halo game for me. Its a really long time away, I hope 343 industries the best of luck with halo in the future. I know you wont disappoint.

Yes magnum is much harder and more rewarding to use than the DMR. Also it doesn’t have cross map sniping ability encouraging more map movement and faster paced gameplay.

To fix/balance armor lock:

  • Remove Armor Lock EMP effects.
  • Remove shield recharge while Armor Locking.
  • Remove 360 degrees camera movement while Armor Locking.

*Melee delay after Armor Lock is not necessary.
*Shortening Armor Lock duration is not necessary.

To all the people who want it completely removed, it can’t be, there’s a Halo: Reach achievement in wich Armor Lock is needed.
Armor lock is supposed to be a shield against massive damage, and a tool to avoid dying, and just that, It’s not supposed to be used as a weapon.

  1. A 1-50 skill based ranking on multiple playlists. Simple but would mean a world of difference i fine with halo 3’s system or a combination of halo 2’s and halo 3’s, but please just put one in and make this game fun again.

  2. Bloom needs to be changed someway im not sure how but spamming needs to be less effective and less luck based. You guys are smart prove you can take over the Halo series and make this work. Also if need be tweak some weapons to keep things balanced.

  3. Armor abilities need to go in my opinion, but if you refuse to keep them i suppose sprint and evade are not too bad. I for 1 feel as if a boost to movement speed and jump height would greatly benefit this game though.

Something seriously needs to be done about armor lock i don’t believe it should have a spot in any playlist outside of big team and it still needs a lot of changes make it for destroying vehicles only or something but fix it please and keep it out of ranked by all means.

Now for Jet pack it is fun but should also be out off all matchmaking especially ranked. I don’t think it would be too bad being a pick up but damn am i tired of people flying to the top the skies all game long. Keeping this out of ranked would make me happy though.

  1. Bleed thru should be changed also put it in and make it balanced please.

  2. Grenades need to be adjusted i think they are ok now but need some tweaks like a bit longer fuse time. The main reason i believe there is a problem is because of the slow movement and low jump heights which i mentioned earlier, if movement speed and jump height were increased i strongly feel grenades would feel a lot more balanced in halo.

  1. Bloom toggle
  2. Armor Lock ban
  3. Either no Jet Pack starts or give it a few seconds delay from when they respawn so that they aren’t constantly in the sky
  4. More of a matchmaking update, but replace power weapons on maps that only have the really easy to use/campy ones (ex. Countdown)
  5. A better way of matching players for matchmaking

Bonus No radar in default settings (one can dream)

  1. Nerf and/or remove armor lock!
  2. Bring VIP back.
  3. Make customizable traits for individual weapons and vehicles, also add ramming damage as a different option so you can splatter people but not damage them with other attacks like in Halo 3
  4. Bring back bleadthrough melee system.
  5. More Forge World textures

I’m sure I posted here already, but I don’t think I planned out what I wanted fixed before I posted, so here’s a revised and thought-out list.

1. Bloom, bloom, bloom. Either significantly reduce it, or remove it. If it’s removed, I’d suggest putting a cap on the rate of fire of the DMR, NR, and magnum. Make them closer to Halo 3’s ROF of the BR, Carbine, and magnum.

2. Melee bleethrough. As many others have stated, this will fix the double melee, and will add back the advantage of popping off the first shot(s).

3. Go over armor ability balance.
Armor lock, for the playlists that it remains in, should be nerfed. It’s intended to save yourself from that rocket, or that incoming splatter, so make it do that. Reduced the duration to about 2 seconds, get rid of the EMP, the ability to shed plasma grenades, and the 360 vision. Maybe make the vision 180 similar to the passenger side of a Warthog.

Active camo should drain faster when still, and drain normally when moving to reduce campers. Also it should scramble the users radar, and not everyone elses, but make the user visible on the radar whether they’re moving or not.

Jet pack should be given less duration. Take away the ability for the jetpack to lift you off of the ground on its own. Treat it like a double jump. This would reduce it’s ability to break maps, and the annoying people who float in the air constantly. Also get rid of the annoying “cooldown” noise that plays every time you’re done pressing the button.

Sprint is the only decent AA in my opinion. It does need some tweaks though. First off, remove sprint painting and replace it with more audible footsteps, it’s annoying and unrealistic. Second, give it a longer duration, even if by a second.

Hologram seems to be fine. No complaints here.
Evade is okay too, by my book. Maybe reduced the roll distance a tiny bit.
Drop shield isn’t in matchmaking, thank goodness, so no hate here.

4. Nerf the grenades, please! I’m fine with the way they bounce and everything else, but they are waaaay too powerful. Grenades should never kill you at full shields and full health, even if placed perfectly under your feet.

5. I think the assist system needs reworked. Why is it why I turn a corner and get one shot on a guy, I get the kill? It’s unfair to my teammate who just unloaded his AR into him, and vice versa. I wouldn’t totally rework it, just fix the situations that turn out like this.

The update should fix known glitches:

  1. The Gauss Warthog gun fires through Forge objects.

  2. The way that the Hologram ability interacts with radar in adversarial multiplayer is different depending on whether you are host or client. Hosts see Holograms as red or yellow blips whereas clients see Holograms as grey blips. It should behave consistently regardless of whether a player is host or client.

  3. Signing out of your Xbox LIVE account on one controller and immediately signing back into another resets daily and weekly challenges for approximately 4 minutes. If the challenges are initially obtained in this window, any progress/completion will be erased. If they are already complete before engaging this exploit, a player can re-complete any challenge in that time window and earn cR for it.

These are just glitches/exploits I have personally observed in my playtime, I’m sure there are more.

  1. Nerf/remove Armor Lock. This will make playlists that currently have Armor Lock playable.
    2.Bring back bleed through melee system (like Halo 3) to stop herpa-derping (sprinting and meleeing twice, essentially melee rushing)
    3.Fix Bloom or remove it, anything that could make it balanced. If it was to be fixed rather than removed, I would still like it to allow for effective spamming at close range, just because pacing at point-blank is nothing more than boring.
    4.Find some way to make the active camo/sniper/camping spot combo a little less effective (not sure how it could be done though)

Top 5

  1. Bloom should have an option to be turned off in custom games and turned off in the team classic play list

  2. There should be individual damage modifiers for weapons e.g the ablillity to change the DMR to a 4 shot weapon but keep the sniper at a 2 shot kill by using the modifier

  3. Better Maps need to be provided as the only good maps in the game Are Zelot, Countdown and Sanctuary, hopfuly bring back some of the old Halo 3 and Halo 2 maps like The Pit, Construct and Guardian.

  4. Bring in a form of True skill rank like Halo 3 to give a form of insentive to actualy win rather than just stat -Yoink!- for credits.

  5. The beatdowns on the game are to unreliable and i think it would be best if you reverted back to the halo 3 beatdown system

My top 5:

  1. REMOVAL OFF ALL SNIPER GAMETYPES FROM ALL PLAYLISTS BUT TEAM SNIPERS!!! (Action Sack, really?)
  2. BTB SNIPERS PLAYLIST (To Remove the gametype from all BTB Playlists)
  3. 1-50 Ranking System (Bring the Halo 2 icons plz!)
  4. Team Classic (Make Halo 2 gametypes and maps pop up more)
  5. Fundu Playlist ( Tremors, Cat and Mouse, Protect the President, Halo Racing Gametypes, etc.)

Bonus: Experience and a Half weekend: Make all game completions 1.5 the normal. or 2x if it wouldn’t be too much. (maybe remove credit cap for weekends if this happens. Any Playlist would be great too!)
