players receive an artificial halo ring armor effect over their heads if they complete 100% commendations.

if someone’s assasinating your partner, you can showstop them and assasinate them simoultaneously, previously it would just cause a showstopper/ninja melee kill, lame, if possible make it to where any melee attack from behind directly results in an assasination including when an enemy is on the gun in a warthog as well.

more firefight enemy vehicles, possibly an all vehicle firefight playlist.

longer firefights, if you look at the list of medals you’ll notice that an unfrigginbelievable in firefight is accomplished by killing 1000 enemies. To date this is impossible, if you make maybe an unlimited firefight playlist to where you continue playing rounds until everyone is dead, it would help people get the unfrigginbelievable medal as well as help players get more perfection medals, and more grounded medals(thus solving suggestion number 3 as well). I can see the problems with making this playlist, if a player is good enough it may never end, but hey, if a guy is wrecking people, let him wreck :).
- Option to disable bloom in customs.
- Individual weapon damage modifiers.
- Add Melee Bleed-through.
- 1-50 ranking system.
- Nerf grenades/armor lock.
- Fix/remove AL
- Remove Sword Block
- Flag juggling in every flag type game
- Shield bleedthough
- Teammates Invis not effecting you on a random basis
Here is my top 5:
1: Nerf Armor Lock by reducing its duration to: “2 - 3” seconds, or remove it from all playlists that’s under 6v6. The reason for this is that when playing against an organized team, when you shoot someone he goes into armor lock calls for his teammates and just before he exits AL you have 3 enemy players coming from all angles. Armor Lock should only last long enough to reject explosive damage othervise it slows down the game because you have to wait for him to exit, or all of his teammates comes kill you and he walks away alive. This is unfair when you should’ve won the battle.
2: Improve the ranking system (Not necessarily by implementing the 1- 50 ranking system, but just so that high level players doesn’t get matced with/against low level players).
3: I would like to see the active camo AL duration and cooldown reduced.
4: Here the other day my campaign progress was completely erased so i now have to complete the campaign again (I had completed it on normal and I was three missions away from completing my legendary playthrough) I would like this bug to be fixed so it never happens again.
5: Improve the spawns on the forge maps in MM.
I can’t wait to see what this title update has in store for us Halo fans and i hope that 343i will fix alot of things. (I have no doubt they will).

Top 5:
-
Tweak bloom to punish spammers.
-
Firefight versus should be implated to MM. (3[or 2] Spartans vs 3[or 2] Elites § AI)
-
Armor lock to 1 sec and only could be used two times if it’s fully recharged.
-
Make vehicles stronger (sniper shouldn’t destroy vehicles) but keep vehicle damage and make it visible please.
-
Balance loadouts in Invasion. (Operator: Shotgun § AL vs Gladiator: Sword § hologram = NO FAIR.)
Here’s my top 5:
-
Tweak bloom to punish spammers - Those that pace their shots should never be beaten by people that just spam the trigger.
-
Seriously cut down the amount of Forge maps that appear in MM - Some are good, but IMO most of the Forge maps are absolutely terrible! I want to be able to play the maps that shipped with the game and the map pack maps, but 90% of the time I end of on some forge map.
-
Fix warthog handling/increase vehicle toughness - As far as the handling thing goes, I am so tired of driving the warthog and having it flip just by running over a pebble. I also don’t feel that sniper rifles nor DMRs should be able to destroy vehicles.
-
Go back to the Halo 3 melee system - I loved that melee system, and for some reason, Reach’s melee system just feels off to me.
-
Tweak or Remove Armor Lock - Personally I think AL should only be available on vehicle heavy maps. It shouldn’t be available on any other map.
I would first like to acknowledge 343 studios before giving my stance on the changes I feel Halo Reach needs.
Dear 343,
I have been an avid Halo player for nearly 7 years of my life, logging countless hours of gameplay on Halo 2 and Halo 3. To me, no other game could come close to the level of fun and competitiveness that Halo offered and I owned an Xbox 360 purely for this franchise. It was easy to come home and spend hours on Halo, playing into the hours of the early morning but this all changed for me when Halo Reach was released.
In my opinion the Halo franchise has been going downhill since Halo 2 and you now have the opportunity to revive a franchise that is losing its long time supporters to games such as Call of Duty and Gears of War. I hope that you take this post to heart and realize that you have the ability to bring the excitement and thrill back to Halo which has been lost now for far too long. I can’t force myself to play Halo Reach for more than an hour these days, the bloom is ridiculous, causing randomness in gun battles and lack of skill. This, in my honest opinion, is what has ruined this game for myself and many gamers alike. When I play this game, I don’t feel like i’m playing Halo at all, and the pointless gimmicks ruin the gameplay. The Halo franchise has been one of the most popular games, if not the most popular, since 2001 and it never needed bloom to be a great game. My question to you, is does it need it now? And my answer is No. Let Call of Duty have its bloom, we don’t need it or want it, Halo was never designed to be a lifelike game anyway, and I doubt anyone will miss it. I hope you take this post to heart and realize the true potential that Halo Reach could have with a few minor tweaks that I will list below.
-
I would like to see Bloom removed from Reach completely, however, I feel the very least that the title update should do is give us the option to toggle bloom on or off in custom games and settings. After all, not everyone wants bloom gone, but I would say a fair majority want the classic halo feel broughtback according to the posts throughout this thread. In my eyes, the only way to bring that classic Halo feel back is by giving us the option to remove bloom.

A ranking system from 1-50 just as we had in Halo 2 and Halo 3. The reason that many gamers spend hours upon hours on a game is a ranking system that gives them something to work toward and achieve. In Halo 2 and Halo 3 everyone was trying their hardest to obtain that level 50 and the feeling of obtaining that level is something that gave a feeling of accomplishment, it made you feel as though all the hard work you invested in the game wasn’t meaningless. I must note however that a new system should be based on Win/Loss and not individual stats like Call of Duty.
The Reach ranking system gives the player no incentive to continue playing and I feel as though the a return of the old ranking system will benefit not only your studio, but the Halo franchise as a whole by bringing in more gamers and keeping them for prolonged periods of time.
The previous ranking systems were also superior because they made the gaming experience as friendly as possible for all levels of players, this friendly experience should be important to you as a gaming studio because it allows for a retention of players. In Halo 2 and Halo 3 you were matched with players who were generally within your skill range and it allowed for you to have fun while making the games as competitive as possible, this is what i believe made the previous Halo games so addicting and fun to play.
In Reach, howver, we do not have this system and it creates gameplay that is either too hard or too easy for the player, and as a result the gamer is left with an unexciting experience.
These are honestly my only two complaints against Halo Reach. I know that this game has the potential to be fun and whether you choose to unlock this potential is up to you. If that day ever comes, I can see myself becoming an avid fan of the game as I once was.
There was a time when I owned no other game than the current Halo and I want more than anything for a time like that to return. Hopefully after this update I can see myself spending more than 1 hour at a time on this game but if nothing is changed I just don’t see that happening.
We have faith in you 343, show us that you care about the community more than Bungie.
Thank You, Kyle
For all those who want bloom from Reach removed completely: are you crazy?
Picture a guy on the top of Spire just firing away as fast as he can basically sniping with the DMR. Bloom can’t be removed in this game or it’ll ruin it completely. Tweaking it and making it better to punish spammers more would be fine.
- Toggle bloom for Pistol, DMR and NR, or atleast make the bloom reset much faster to reduce randomness.
- Reduce bullet magnetism on Pistol, DMR and NR.
- Remove no bleed for melees.
- Increase frag grenade fuse time and bounce.
- Buff AR and Plasma Repeater slightly so they aren’t completely useless close range against bloomless precision weapons.
Reducing bullet magnetism will make the Pistol, DMR and NR much more difficult to use with no bloom. I think there’s so much bullet magnetism to alleviate the problems of the bloom slightly. Without bloom, you don’t need that much bullet magnetism. The Pistol will be great at close range now, but will lack the consecutive killing capabilities the DMR has because of lower clip size. Because of the pistol and DMR buffs, they should buff the AR and PR so they can compete with the Pistol if the pistol user misses too many shots at close range. Also, removing no bleed on melees should make the melee system more bearable. Grenade fuse time I think would make grenades still powerful, but you would need to throw more precise grenades to get the same result.

Make vehicle health like Halo 3, making them more resistant to gunfire (A sniper should not take out a vehicle.)

If they took of blood, would they be able to increase the time it takes to get off each shot, if 343i does this CORRECT (key word there), then we should be able to take off bloom so that you can’t spam, the person who aims his shots the best wins, and you can’t just sit in a high location and pick them off with a DMR. Also if we do this, then I think the DMR would need to be a 4shot wepon then, depending on how long the shots are

If they remove bloom, they can rebalance the weapons too
There is no problem^^

This was beautiful, and expresses exactly what my friends and I, long time fans of Halo since CE… Feel. We all LOVED Halo 2 and think about it still at least once a week, im just wishing 343 can recapture that fun Halo experience we got in the first 6 years of Halo from 2001-2007.
A few buzzing in my head,
-More options on a loadout basis (i.e. strength, speed, color, etc.), make more class based slayer gametypes
-More Variety in enemy squads for Firefight. (i.e. Wraith, Armored Divison, Heretic Armored Division, Banshees, etc.)
-More vehicle options in Firefight, especially Unearthed. Also, add more vehicles to beginning of match and enemy vehicle types like revenants. More vehicle options the more fun I can have. Eventually want a firefight gametype called Vehiclefight, all Vehicle on Vehicle action.
-Ability to pilot Banshees during firefight.
-Option to Increase physics reactions (i.e. Hammer Range is small, or large. Grenade blast radius.)
-Changable weapon ranges, like sword’s weapon range set to infinite (able to lunge from any distance), could make a ninjas or Sword SWAT gametype.
That’s all for right now.
- Nerf Armour Lock.
- Nerf the Banshee.
- Change the bloom system of the DMR to punish spammers more effectively.
- Try to fix some of the annoying problems regarding Forge 2.0’s rotation snaps and editing of co-ordinates. It can get really frustrating!
- This is really far fetched, but if it is possible, give us extra customization options regarding individual weapon damage settings! It would be super awesome!
