Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

  3. Don’t let players who have just gotten out of armor lock be allowed to go back into armor lock immediately.

  4. Eliminate the duration it takes when falling from a great height of landing and not being able to move; make it able for players to be able to move right after a drop.

  5. Make jet pack a toggle armor ability.

My wishlist is aimed more towards forging and customs.

  1. A location naming object for Forge. You would set it just like a safe/kill zone, and be able to give it a custom name. When in a custom game it would display the custom name while in the specified area rather than the preset name of said area. e.g.- If you build a map in the lagoon on Forge World you could place location namers, so that instead of it just saying lagoon wherever you are, it says whatever you want.

  2. Bring back separate flag spawn and flag capture zones. It’s really stupid that can place a separate bomb spawn and goal, but not flag spawn and capture. Especially since you could do it in Halo 3. Why take away the feature?

  3. Fall damage toggle for custom games. You can’t really get the classic halo feel without being able to turn off fall damage.

  4. More fine tuned coordinates in forge. Some objects have to be manually set in order to be level with other objects, which is kind of a pain in the ascot sometimes. Adding a hundredths place, or just adding a fine tune option would make things go so much faster.

  5. Make all vehicles have different color options like the mongoose. It would be really cool to have team colored hogs, falcons, etc.

Bonus want - Flags, oddballs, and bombs should never lose to a sword. EVAR! Mutual kills are fine, but seeing as how a regular melee can clash with a sword, it’s really stupid that a one hit kill objective item almost never survives against a sword attack.

First it would be great if the Chopper from Halo 3 was returned, also if the invisibility would be increased: meaning the effects could be increased (more transparency) when moving; with something like less time to use it?

What do you guys think about the idea about what I said about invisibility?

I disagree with the grenade Nerf because the effects can be negated with things like:

armor lock
jet pack
sprint etc.

Plus the grenade’s job is to take out a person’s energy shield, in my eyes the job of grenades have not changed.
Also what would be cool is if in matchmaking having start with 2 grenades but having the ability to have a max of 4 or at least 3 grenades during the match.

This update has the potential to make Reach the greatest Halo game thus far. Thank you for recognizing your fans and inquiring about what we, the fans, actually want.

  1. Ability to toggle bloom on/off in settings. For the Halo Classic matchmaking settings, this bloom setting should be checked off just as it was in older Halo games.

This is, by far, the most important part of the update. I cannot stress this enough. “Fixing” bloom would help Halo Reach, but what the fans REALLY want for CE multiplayer and Reach in general is the ability to toggle it off completely. Again, I cannot stress this enough.

2A. Ability to toggle the “no bleed” melee functionality on/off in settings. For the Halo Classic matchmaking settings, melees should be able to bleed through shields because that’s how it was in Halo CE. I can clarify if you don’t know what this is, but basically right now a melee will not do damage to the person’s health if he has ANY amount of shields left… even if only 1% left. That’s what I mean by “No bleed”, it needs to be disabled for the Classic settings.

2B: Customization of spartan movement acceleration. Right now, we can tweak speed, but it is useless because anything past 120% is slippery. If we have the ability to tweak acceleration, we can get movement exactly how we want it to be, which is what I think was intended with the speed customization in the first place.

  1. Grenade physics to mimic Halo 1. In Halo 1, grenades could blow up weapons and power-ups, propelling them in directions. This became a very fun part of Halo CE, as you could grenade weapons and power-ups to yourself if you were really good.

  2. Damage customization per weapon rather than only having damage customization apply to ALL weapons.

  3. Ability to customize the traits of AA’s. For sprint and evade, we should be able to control how fast you move while sprinting/evading, how far you travel per evade, and how long you can sprint before your AA charge runs out. A simple slider in game options would do the trick. For Armor Lock, we should be able to customize how long you can be in Armor Lock before you run out of AA charge. Same with Jet Pack.

  4. Fall physics: a toggle between “Regular” and “Classic”. Regular would be the same as Reach currently. Classic would be different in two ways:

a. You don’t slow down when you hit the ground after a long drop. It will take away health and possibly kill you just as in Halo CE, but it won’t cause you to slow down for 5 seconds.

b. If you crouch right before you hit the ground, no fall damage is taken.

  1. Bring back CLAN FUNCTIONALITY as it was in Halo 2 XBL with both Minor and Major clan matches. Please?!?!?!? This was THE MOST fun I’ve ever had in Halo online play. Ever.

Speaking of this, there REALLY needs to be a visible leveling system in not only this CLAN matchmaking system, but also in the non-social matchmaking types.

  1. The ability for a user to toggle on/off back-melee animations. It’s too easy to accidently do it even if we don’t want to, which can potentially lose a team the game.

1.Fix grenades(too powerful)
2.Fix bloom on dmr(spamming too effective at all ranges)
3.Fix multiple weapon spawns(power weapons should not spawn if the maximum allowed is already in play)as well as fix despawn time on plasma launcher its about 6secs.
4.Fix glitch when I laser or beatdown a vehicle the kill and medal is awarded to the person who killed it.
5.Fix melee system it is horrible as it is now.And add option to disable assassinations for players who don’t want it.
6.Fix bad frame rate on some forge maps(causes really bad lag when looking at a certain point of map).
7.Buff reverant debuff banshee bomb.
8.Most of the covenant weapons suck focus rifle,plasma repeater,plasma launcher ect.Make some weapons worth dying for and add fuel rod on more than just 1 map.Session dataSession data

  1. Complete removal of Bloom or at least a No Bloom option/playlist
  2. Nerfs, fixes or removal of AAs, especially Armour Lock
  3. 1-50 Ranking system
  4. Playlist of FULL classic Halo experience (jump height and movement speeds, no bloom, no AA etc.)
  5. More forge world textures (FW maps look very grey and boring at this state

1) Bloom toggle: Weapon bloom needs a on/off option. Spamming works more than it doesn’t…shouldn’t be that way.

2) 1 - 50 ranking system: Add the 1-50 back. Every hardcore player from Halo that got a high rank like a 50 or 40 in Halo knows that in Halo Reach the matchmaking system has no balance on who you place against or with. Plus the 1-50 system lets each player have something to go for. We all know Arena blows due to it’s population to other playlist…the ranked community left in Halo 3 is bigger…that’s not good, not at all. Social playlist can still exist as well but please just give the hardcore gamers a more balanced ranking system. Also, something like a cR per playlist wouldn’t hurt either… for example, in Halo 3 players could get a general in each playlist by getting 500 exp. Why not have something like this in reach, for example 8,000,000 cR per playlist = inheritor.

3) Fix theater: Make theater have at least a max party of four. One player just isn’t as fun when it comes down to showing your friends how sick that no-scope you just got was if they all have to download it just to see it.

4) Power-ups need to be fixed: Camo and Overshield in Halo Reach are so messed up. Camo should make you invisible like it did in H3, no more crouching to have full camo. Oversheild needs a visual effect to show how much overshield they have left. Not just flaming feat or a forced color that doesn’t change.

5) Bleed thru: Here is a example of this…Player A shoots Player B 3 times with the Dmr. They both melee each other twice resulting in a neutral (both players kill each other). We all know Player A should of won that fight…It’s like those 3 shots didn’t even exist. Halo 3 had it right.

i am very annoyed by seeing some of these responses by people who say tweak bloom. i want bloom completely gone, it has no place in halo. waiting to shoot does not take skill. it slows the game down especially since we already have shields in the game.

  1. please remove bloom completely
  2. bring black bleed through
  3. faster movement speed
  4. higher jump height
  5. tweek armour abilities (sprint for longer to compensate for faster movement, no health regen when in armour lock)
  6. 1-50 rank
  7. no health packs (this is not 2001, health packs have no place in a competitive multiplayer game)

i know you said top 5 but there is so much wrong with the game i just had it get it all out. Frankie please sort halo reach out because i really love halo but i cant play reach in the current state its in.

  1. sniper shouldnt damage vehicles (come on)

  1. longer cool down on beatdowns. It’s no fun seeing someone sprint across a map to just beat you down.
  2. Bloom Spamming should never win.
  3. Grenades tone it down.
  4. DMR starts in Team Objective PLEASE.
  5. Turn off auto aim completely or give us an option to.
  1. Nerf nades. ether blast radius or damage. Both would work nicely
  2. Option to turn off bloom. for custom games and for the classic playlist.
  3. Nerf AL
  4. individual weapon traits. This is needed to balance out the weapons in the classic playlist. such as fire rate,Damage etc.
  5. Fix bloom for normal match making where pacing will be a spammer. 100 percent of the time.

Halo CE/3 had the two best melee systems
Go back to one of those

bu bu but i like armour abilities. but seriously isnt reach a sequel to halo 3? is it so outrageous of me to expect some of the core mechanics which have made halo what it is today(or was before reach) to stay the same? what was wrong with the game speed/no bloom anyway?
it seems to me developers just want to change things just for the sake of it. epic done the same thing, had a great foundation with gears 1 then completely destroyed it with gears 2 but then put it right masterfully with gears 3(best beta i have ever played) i just pray 343 restores what was good about halo

  1. Able to turn off bloom in custom settings.
  2. Individual weapon damage modifiers.
  3. Ranking system similar to Halo 2 and Halo 3.
  4. Make the theater mode a max party of 4 like in Halo 3.
  5. Fixed melee system.

1: Armour Lock nerfed. What I would like to see changed.

A) Sticky shedding gone. It’s totally un-needed. Sticking takes skill, pressing a button doesn’t. It’s very frustrating. To balance it out, I suggest making the sticky stay inside AL’s “Energy field” and the explosion doesn’t escape so you can save your comrades, while still rewarding the one who used the sticky, and scored the stick.

B) Make it so, that when you exit Al, you can’t melee straight away. This factor is what makes it over powered in CQC battles, and promotes camping.

C) Make it so you can’t have a 360 view while Al’ing. This factor also strengthens it’s CQC powers even further, making it not only a defensive ability, but an offensive, since you can enter it, and when you exit, you re automatically looking the other way, ready to double melee. I suggest making it a 180 degree view, or making it slower.

D) In the vidoc featuring Al for the first time, alpha footage, it had a jetpack-like backpack. If this can be put back in PLEASE do so. We will then be able to know whether or not the enemy is going using AL, making it less camp-able.

2: Change bloom to reward pacers more than spamers at mid-range.

3: Nerf the Human frag grenade, at the moment, I think they are slightly overpowered reducing the blast zone , even just a tiny bit, or reducing damage just abit would be a welcome sight, making grenade spam less of an issue, and promoting more gun use.

4: I’m not 100% sure how, but please make Arena ranking or rewarding, how about when you look at someones spartan, rank, commendation/armoury completion ect, place their most recent arena division and ranking somewhere, promoting the playlist, and being able to validate someones skill before a match starts.

5: Lastly, the betrayal and booting system just isn’t working, it needs to change, I’m just not sure how, sorry.

These are my top five wanted changes, and mean while not really title update-needed changes, can community maps be added to infection, and Invasion needs some attention! It’s exactly the same as it was back in September 2010! The Spartans have to much a heard tie on 1st phase spire, the need some DMR’s to spawn near them in my opinion, to fight back the onslaught of needlers and needle rifle from the rocks.
