1: Pelican’s Flyable in Forge and Matchmaking
(really Bungie has been getting request Since at least Halo 2 about being able to fly Pelicans so why not with there last Hoorah to Halo Make the most Loved Thing able to be Used.)
2: Scarabs in Forge (Scarabs that Fight you) Mabye its just me and my friends that want to do this but we think that if Super Soldiers can fight one in battle with Marines why can’t they fight seven with a few Friends and Win) But I think it would be Awesome.
3: I would like to set the Weapons at the Start of Forge or Matchmaking were you have no weapons and you need to hunt weapons down and find them or just walk around with no weapons at all. I think It would open up new Game-types (Ex. Survival make a dark map with zombie Players that walk Slower than others and wield Energy Swords and they run around trying to find weapons to fight the Hordes.)
I am really glad that this is being discussed here. Well ill try to keep it short and give my thoughts.
My top 5 Updates:
The Plasma pistol and Grenade Launcher both have EMP effects. Have them be able to knock people out of armor lock, disabling it for 3 secs and removing their shield. (Easy fix for it, and nerf)
This is a weapons issue. A: Fix the bloom on weapons, making it more realistic. B: Remove auto-assisted aiming. (IE: Enemy walks in front of you and your gun follows them.) The latter will also help with the first.
In forge, Remove the Monetary and Individual Item Limit, but keep the total item limit and display it where the money would normally be, IE: 343/5,000 Obj. (Some maps will lag to high heaven yes but good forgers will be thankful, more good maps could be made with this done)
Most of the armor is getting a little old, and more customization would be nice. Add some armor with the update and also add in right wrist and right leg parts, right wrist could be ammo/UA and leg could copy left legs items. A backpack or rear waist item area would be nice as well.
For my insane request, Im a forger who has dreamt of making a map with driveable civ vehicles (Like in Reach’s Campaign) and have also already designed a map idea for “Capture the Forklift” yes, you heard me. I want to be able to place civ vehicles and be able to set them as the flag (Capture Vehicles).
Ended up being long and I apologize but I like detail. A lot more I would want but this is my top 5.
No AL in any MM playlist. Only include it in custom games and firefight. That or nerf it so it can only be used in .5-1 second bursts with a 1-3 second cool down.
Active Camo needs to be a power up. No more cheap perfections with Active Camo+ Sniper combo on Hemhorrage thanks to unlimited Camo.
Evade and Sprint make it too easy to run away from danger. I know this because I only use the sprint AA and I use it to run from danger.
Jet Pack needs to be toned down a bit. Just make it so that Jet pack gives you a bit of height instead of sustained, 200 meters off the floor height.
I think Drop Shield is fine, most don’t though.
2.Fix Bloom. Do not remove it. All we need is a DMR sniper that doesn’t suffer from bloom and can kill quick from long range.
3.Make the Sniper’-Yoink!- scan a bit smaller. It is WAY too easy to shoot with that weapon. I know this because i used to suck with the sniper in H3 and now I dominate with the Sniper.
4.Nerf the hell out of the Banshee. It’s ridiculous really. Evades with the banshee take out from it’s boost gauge?
With regards to number one grenades can be nerfed as well. (My theory to the pocket nukes is that without AL, Jet Pack, or Active Camo, there is no need for grenades with such radius or power.)
I’ll keep it brief. If I’m lucky, all sixty-eight pages of this thread will be read. Here goes.
Brutes as playable characters.
Is it possible? I don’t know the science of the engine, or if a new playable species could be added through an update. BUT, if you were able, you’d have an entire set of armors and animations to play with, and have the armor selection similar to the elites. (I.E. Elite General = Brute Cheiftain, etc)
Customizable Weapon Bloom
This shouldn’t be difficult. It would solve everyone’s complaint of whether they want to keep it or ditch it entirely, so everyone’s happy.

Bring Race into the Action Sack playlist.
It would open up a whole new segment to Halo, right alongside Grifball. It would add a new genre to Halo. They are in customs, but they are ONLY viewed as customs. Not taken seriously. Halo has the capabilities and vehicles to meet other racing games, and I think it deserves a spot in Matchmaking.
(On a side note, on the loadout screen, while the match is starting, you could have separate loadouts that would allow you to change the color of your mongoose midgame. Possible?)
Here’s the part where I should whine about armor lock. It doesn’t bother me, people just need to learn how to react against it. So I won’t beg for it to be removed. Instead, I’ll go more crazy.
New unlockable armor.
Also self-explanatory. We could use a new set of armor, eh?
Rebalance the weapon sandbox. Repeater should be much stronger on shields and take more time to slow down. Focus Rifle should do more damage the further the beam has travelled (long range kills quicker than close range). Plasma Launcher’s plasma rounds should fly through the air quicker. Frag Grenade explosion fuse time should be increased by 1/2 a second. Fuel Rod Gun should stop being so “bouncy”; it bounces at what seems like 35 degrees!. Magnum’s RoF should be increased back to Beta status, and the same with its bloom and recoil. Spiker and Plasma Rifle should kill faster, with the Spiker being more like a powerful AR at close range. Sniper and DMR should do less damage to vehicles to the point that it takes 12 sniper bullets (an entire sniper) to destroy a Banshee and an entire team of 8 must be firing consistently at a Warthog to blow it up. Needle Rifle should do damage to vehicles as well, but not as much. Turrets on vehicles should be more accurate and with the tripod-stand kind the reticule should not grow when the turret is ripped off. Plasma Pistol should have a 2x scope so Elites aren’t totally screwed in the beginning of Invasion Slayer. Tweak bloom on the DMR to reward pacing and discourage spamming (faster reset, same growth). To comensate, make DMR RoF slightly faster so it’s not a slower kill time than the Halo 3 BR. And lastly, rebalance melee mechanics (bleed-through).
Rebalance vehicle sandbox. Banshee bomb should be nerfed and Plasma Cannons should be buffed to Halo 3 standard. Ghost plasma cannons should shoot at Halo 2 speed (much faster). Shade Turret should shoot twice as fast so we can see them in matchmaking. Warthog should have heavier physics, so that they are much less likely to flip. Revenant mortars should fly through air quicker and blind the enemy for longer.
Rebalance AA sandbox. Hologram should be more realistic (no flicker) and appear red on the radar for enemies. AL shouldn’t shed plasma nades and there should be a 1 second delay after you get out so you can’t immediately turn around and melee. Drop Shield should be much stronger, but have a minute long recharge time to work more like the Bubble Shield from Halo 3. Spartan Evade animation should be modified so it doesn’t go as far, and the hitbox glitches should be worked. Sprint should have draw time for melee weapons increased so you can’t dominate with Sprint and Sword. This change will also mean the removal of Sword Block. You should always be visible on radar when in Active Camo, even if you are crouching, as a slightly redder dot; in turn you are still see-through even when walking slowly. Elite Armor Lock should also be red like it was in the Beta, and shields should not recharge!.
New options for Invasion. Allow players to set different objectives such as a Slayer Phase or a King of the Hill phase. Maybe have a way to make both species go for the objective, like both of them have to try and steal the core. Also, separate base player traits for both species so Elites can be stronger in some areas and Spartans can be stronger in theirs. And finally, make team-specific zones so only Red Team will be able to access an area encircled by this hill marker. This way, Blue Team can’t go and spawn camp Red Team because it’ll be out of bounds for them.
At this rate, if 343 doesn’t fix/remove or give a toggle for bloom, why bother with a title update?
They should just announce it now so I can tell 50 of my friends who quit Reach after a month that they can come back to it now.
The more time that passes where they don’t announce a bloom fix/removal, the more I’m worried they aren’t going to change it.
Oh, and you might want to fix the hard wood physics on the Ivory Tower remake since grenades bounce on the wood like its water or snow. Good lord its embarrassing. But its your embarrassment to fix now Frankie. May god have mercy on your soul.
All the old helmet permutations from Halo 3. Including those that got spiritual successors in Halo: Reach.
Give the sniper a special property so that when you get teamkilled, all it’s ammo disappears. Solves sniper envy quite easily.
Make a separate playlist specifically tailored to those who’ll keep whining until Reach is just Halo 3 with AA’s. I do not want to wait and watch while this becomes the standard matchmaking experience.
Bungie mentioned before release that Reach’s matchmaking would try really hard to put you against teams of the same party composition as your own party (eg. if you’re in a party of two it doesn’t give you two random parties of one and then put you in a game against a clan) Either they forgot or their system failed, I’d like to see that fixed.
Old emblems that were cut between Halo: CE and Halo: Reach would be nice too.
I’m going to leave a few suggestions, maybe they will take them all on.
Nerf Armour Lock, have overcharged plasma pistol and emp from grenade launcher end it. Once out of armour lock they shouldnt be able to go straight back in. Reduce length to 2secs.
Fix melee system to allow bleed through.
All loadouts to be sprint or evade, place other armour abilities on the map to stop a full team of armour lockers/jetpackers.
Have a ranking system.
Fix playlist, i.e, multi team 6 teams of 2, rocket race and elite slayer to have own playlist.
Give credits for hill/ball time, flag captures, to try give campers incentive to play those gametypes.
Fix maps, or use updated ones, i.e sanctuary instead of asylum. Pinnacle spawns are awful.
Do not remove bloom, but fix so spam is less rewarding.
1.) “Classic” Gametype - no bloom, and no armor abilities. 2.) More items in the armory. 3.) Fix the bugs that have been in since release; power-ups, coordinates in forge, etc… 4.) More custom gametype options. 5.) Get rid of soft kill boundaries (Not likely).
