Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

  1. Making players able to turn off/on the bloom in customs
  2. 3Ranked Matchmaking
  3. Make the assists easier to get
  4. More symetric maps for competitive players
  5. Before to start in matchmaking, you must be able to choose if you want to play people that are as much as you . ( for exemple, you’re 4 and you don’t wanna play against some randoms that don’t know the game at all and start alone.)

  1. Fix armour lock so that when someone boosts into they get destroyed, not enter stunt ramp physics. EMP vehicles only. Quick in, slow out.

  2. Banshee. Slow the recharge for the Banshee bomb to stop spam bombing. Also, make the doge/evade use some of the boost bar, there are far too many people who spam evade/bomb combo and can make an interesting slayer/objective game very bad and one sided.

  3. Bloom. Use recoil instead, it’s more accurate than the whole bloom “coin toss” way of things.

  4. Slayer. Use original maps. Most of the maps in there either suck, are very unblanced or just plain are terrible in forms of completion, layout and weaponry. At least include an option where you can original maps/home made in seperate playlists.

  5. Cloak. The whole radar is system is okay, but fix it so that the opposing team’s radar isn’t affected. The guy in cloak is invisible, but with many enemy blips on rader, it makes it harder to camp. Those who aren’t using it shouldn’t be punished for the same thing. Also, make cloaks visibility a lot less… well visible, running should be partially visible, where as walking should make it fine.

There are also a few issues with loadouts/maps/gametypes, but these always change depending on map/gametype anyways, so for the most part, these are alright.

  1. Individual weapon modifiers

  2. Option to disable aim acceleration (not aim assist, they’re two different things)

  3. Either tweak the bloom system so it doesn’t reward spamming, or remove it

  4. Faster character acceleration, we can’t even strafe well in Reach

  5. Ditch the “no bleed-through” system. If I melee you and you have almost no shields left, your health bars should take some damage.

  1. Remove bloom completely or tweak it so that it gets huge very fast and contracts very fast to punish any spammers.

  2. Allow for individual weapon traits. (Damage, ROF, etc.)

  3. Nerf grenades a bit in comparison to weapons (I guess customizable individual weapon traits kinda covers this).

  4. Adjust armor lock so that it only contains two of the following: temporary invincibility, shield recharge, and small area EMP upon exit. The current system that allows all three to be used and abused is bullcrap.

  5. Some sort of ranking system based almost 100% on wins and losses to be incorporated in most “competitive” playlists, Classic, and MLG.

Oh yeah,

  1. Hire some members to your staff who understand/give a crap about competitive gaming; something Bungie stopped doing after Halo 2.
  1. Make the Camo armor ability more like the pickup was in Halo 3. Leave it as an armor ability with a time limit and recharge rate, but make it totally invisible whether you move or not. You can leave the radar jamming as a tipoff that someone with Camo is nearby to balance it out.

  2. Vehicle Health - It’s like the Reach vehicles are made out of paper mache’! I understand why a sniper would damage a vehicle as it’s a high powered weapon with a larger bullet, it makes sense and should stay. Having DMR’s and Pistols and everything else chew up vehicles is silly though. They should be able to deflect shots from normal guns, especially if they are a frickin tank!

  3. Please don’t bring back the 1-50 ranking system. Arena rankings already serve that purpose. If you really decide to bring it back, than please restrict it to only one playlist, like Arena or MLG or something.

  4. It would be cool to see MVP come back.

  1. I’d love if Bloom was completely removed, but a toggle switch would work.

  2. Nerfing of Armor Lock and Invis. Invis snipers are one of the most annoying things in the game.

  3. The ability to watch saved films with a party of four would be really nice. I don’t find myself using Theatre much at all now that it’s limited to a party of one.

  4. Blood shots are still an issue, even on LAN. I’d love to see them occur less often.

  5. Grenade physics. This is just preference, but I’d love for them to behave a little more like previous Halo titles.

  1. Bloom toggle: Weapon bloom needs a on/off option. Spamming works more than it doesn’t…shouldn’t be that way.

  2. 1 - 50 ranking system: Add the 1-50 back. Every hardcore player from Halo that got a high rank like a 50 or 40 in Halo knows that in Halo Reach the matchmaking system has no balance on who you place against or with. Plus the 1-50 system lets each player have something to go for. We all know Arena blows due to it’s population to other playlist…the ranked community left in Halo 3 is bigger…that’s not good, not at all. Social playlist can still exist as well but please just give the hardcore gamers a more balanced ranking system.

  3. Fix theater: Make theater have at least a max party of four. One player just isn’t as fun when it comes down to showing your friends how sick that no-scope you just got was if they all have to download it just to see it.

  4. Power-ups need to be fixed: Camo and Oversheild in Halo Reach are so messed up. Camo should make you invisible like it did in H3, no more crouching to have full camo. Oversheild needs a visual effect to show how much overshield they have left. Not just flaming feat or a forced color that doesn’t change.

  5. Bleed thru: Here is a example of this…Player A shoots Player B 3 times with the Dmr. They both melee each other twice resulting in a neutral (both players kill each other). We all know Player A should of won that fight…It’s like those 3 shots didn’t even exist. Halo 3 had it right.

  2. Reduced grenade and rocket explosion radius. You should be able to move out of a grenade’s explosion if you see it before/when it lands.

4.) Change the ranking system (at least add a true ranking system into some of the playlists. A ranking system similar to 1-50 in Halo 3 would be good. I feel like this would give people more incentive to play. I get bored after playing just a few games of reach)

5.) Tweak the grenade damage radius. (Nades are too powerful)

I hope I’m not to late to get a say in this but here it goes. This is the most important post in this thread. I have read other post and I agree with most of what people have stated. But with reading what people have posted, they simply don’t understand you can only do so much with a patch. People post and say fix that and this but they don’t state on how to fix a certain issue, so I will do it for them. I will state what is the most important issues that need patching, and will make it short as possible…1) Fix/Remove the Bloom. The statement above is pretty obvious. Now there are two things you could do for this issue. 1. you can make the bloom have a faster reset time. 2. Just remove the bloom totally with no DMR side effects. By “side effects” I mean, no bullet deviation, the bullet simply shoots where the player aims at. Out of these two, I want to see #2…2) Fix the Grenades. (Explode Time) Now I will not just say “Make them weaker” this will not fix the issue at hand. These people who say this don’t understand FPS multiplayer games in general. People say that these grenades are too powerful but there are two reasons why it seems like it. 1. The player movement speed is too slow to get away from these grenades. 2. These grenades explode instantly, making them the most frustrating weapon to deal with while playing. How to fix the grenades…, Give the grenades a delay time/fuse time, make it 3 - 4 seconds long before they explode. This will make the player able to get away from the grenades. This will solve every complaint you will ever here about this topic…3) Fix the Melee System. (Remove Lunge) Again people will just say “Fix the melee system” then they don’t state how. It’s so simple in fact that I believe those bungie employees who made the melee system for H3 and HR has a intelligence of a 4th grader. But those who made the melee system for H:CE and H2 did a very good job. Now granted H:CE had better melee system because it had no lunge. So, in order to fix the melee system you must take out the lunge. By doing this you will solve many other complaints associated with this problem…4) Fix Assassination Animation (Toggle On/Off) Fixing the assassination animation is the second most important issue dealing with halo reach. I have died some many times when I didn’t even mean to hold the melee button. Needing to fight another guy by me but I was in assassin mode so I couldn’t defend myself. Lets face it, this feature is completely broken, and is far more important than most issues…5) Add Foot step sounds (walking and sprint)…This is the most important issue dealing with halo reach. I have never been assassinated so much in this game verses any other FPS game I have ever played. This is absolutely ridiculous, I can’t hear people when they’re approaching me. So add walking foot steps sounds and increase the sound of someone sprinting. Increase the sound enough where you hear other players easily. Now there are some many other problems with reach, so I only stated the five main complaints. These five topics above need to be addressed and dealt with in future halo titles.

I know this will never happen, but the only thing I want, is the Chopper. Bungie made a huge mistake taking it out. In my opinion, it was the funnest vehicle to use. If I never see it in Reach, I would love to see it maybe in the future.

  2. 1-50 ranking system…having no VISIBLE rank makes me not want to play all of the playlists, instead I just play MLG because every other playlist is a blow-out. The games are NEVER close/competitive. This ranking system motivates people to play your game more, I don’t know why you would remove it. Tried to be all neat and sophisticated with your failed invisible ranking system :frowning:

I want to play halo again…

I am really hoping this title update won’t disappoint. I’ve been waiting on one for a while haha.

REALLY WANTED Top 5:

  1. First and foremost, a ranking system needs to be implemented. I hate kids who quit out because there is no incentive to stay in a match anymore. Not saying there won’t still be people who quit, I just feel like more people would want the “50” again.

  2. Fix Forge. It lags half the time you try to do anything. So many more forging possibilities could come to fruition if the Forge world didn’t suck so bad.

  3. Melee. Fix Melee please. The fact there is no bleed-through is ridiculous. Also nerf nades. Please nerf these mini-nukes.

  4. Fix AA’s. I don’t really play a whole lot of regular slayer or whatever (play MLG), but I feel like if Armor Lock was fixed/removed I could enjoy it a whole lot more. The first few weeks when I played this game I seriously felt like I was going to kill someone (broke a controller already).

  5. Lastly fix the freakin “bloom”. Lets be honest the bloom in this game is horrible. On LAN the bloom is pointless as it’s almost better to spam then pace shots. Online scrubs do nothing but get that lucky 5 shot. Please either make a toggle for on/off bloom or fix it.

(6) This is just a wishful fix, and only that. But please listen to the competitive scene and make some decent competitive maps. Swordbase is horrible. It’s the most worthless map I’ve seen in a Halo game, and it just promotes nothing but camping. This isn’t CoD. Please come out with some decent competitive maps.

  1. I think it would be amazing to have an option to disable bloom in custom settings. Some Matchmaking playlists can even have the no-bloom option.

  2. A numbered ranking system similar to Halo 2 or Halo 3.

  3. More armor effects in the armory!

My my, what a fascinating list of 67+ pages of “Nerf Armorlock”/“Fix Bloom”. derp. >_<

At risk of my post never seeing the eyes of anyone important, that can do anything about it, I propose the following 5 things.

It is a wish list, so I am well aware of the unlikeness of any of these things being put into the “title update”, that said I have ordered it in amount of “possibility” 1 being the lowest…ect.

1. Halo 3 Lighting in Reach

In Halo:Reach the HDR has been reduced as well as the lighting which had its capacity greatly reduced (from infinity) compared to Halo 3. I’m no tech…so it’s very possible maybe that I’m little ignorant in the subject due to not working in the field currently, but I have never understood how this could be called a triple AAA Engine (by Microsoft…as I recall) when some things were pruned back so other things could be pushed forward (vis a vi… you cheated.)

Don’t get me wrong, Halo Reaches Scope is impressive, but since we are using the same tech as Halo 3, the thought occurs that they could have very well have had all that fancy tech in Halo 3 as well if they wanted too. Probably did, just didn’t have time to work it all out. At the very least the shaders could be abit updated.

This Picture (in this link) is What I feel Reach should have presented us with using a picture from an Alpha Halo 3…and to compare with a Full Halo : Reach.

Changes the weapons to Halo 1 Strengths. Disables Fall Damage. Brings back the Weapon of True Spartans. Also has the magic ability to transport me to 16 player LANs…because you love me (and my money).

3.Give the “Forge Monitor” the ability to shoot a laser(s)
…because…Yes.

4. The toggle option to dual wield
By doing so turns off grenades, and turns on double everything. Please. I must have my Double Shot Gun & Double Needlers. (Or you can go really crazy and make it double Grenades…or both.) XD

5. More Assassination Animations
For everything (Single player an Multiplayer)…because watching an elite kick a Spartan off a Spire is one of the best things I have ever seen in gaming…ever. Particularly when I do It :).I demand more. At the very least I would like to see a deticated Animation for the Hammer for both Spartan and Elite. Hammers need love too.

I don’t understand why people think the firing rate needs to be lowered if bloom is removed. Faster kill times, like what CE/H2 had, is exactly what Reach needs. It will balance power weapons, nades, melee, and AAs while speeding up gameplay.

Halo 1 mode yes please. Some sort of modded gametype with CE settings would be amazing.
