I consider myself a part of the more competitive side of the Halo community. Here are my opinions,
Bloom (on the DMR) - needs to still be incorperated into the game, and needs no major overhaul IMO. The one thing that needs fixing is the inconsistency between people’s bloom and their connection speed/type. By this, I mean to say that in each game, each player’s bloom can be different to the rest with the most noticable difference being that DMR bloom sometimes takes much longer to reset and this can change even between shooting different targets.
Armour Lock - needs to be a limited amount of players per team with armour lock (perhaps 2 in a team of 4) and its duration needs to be slightly lowered and its recharge rate similarly lowered.
Frag grenades damage. Red health full shield and one unavoidable grenade can kill you. If that is the case, more health packs need to be located around maps or frag damage (only slightly) reduced. Either than or they need to be more easily avoidable.
Playlist updates for Ranked games. Perhaps keep the competetive banner of playlists but if for example you wanted to go and play SWAT, you have an option to play ‘Ranked’ or ‘Social’ once you had chosen SWAT. Perhaps their could be a third choice of ‘Find either’ as well to speed up game times for those less bothered!
Forge has so many capabilities to create fantastic maps, but grey asthetics really do ruin the feel of even the most beautifully crafted maps. Greater colour customisation for forge would probably get me back forging again.

4.include evade in slayer gametype’s
5.make the sniper have no bloom and 5 ammo instead of 4
Modify the Melee system. Bring bleedthrough back, but don’t allow only two melees for a kill at full health. Three melees with bleed? Perfect system, IMO.
Remove/heavily adjust Armour Lock. At this point, it’d be easier to just remove it. But if 343i wants to keep it, they need to strip AL of it’s additives. Remove EMP. Trash the stun. Allow Plasmas to stick to the player. Also, reduce it’s duration! Don’t let players sit in AL for excess amounts of time. Make it a quick tap AA that’ll deflect heavy attacks with precision timing. Along with that, fix other Armour Abilities, such as Active Camo, that cause problems.
Nerf Frag Grenades. Don’t let players spawn with two, even in BTB. Make the fuses longer, and the damage they do less.
Ditch bloom. If I have perfect aim, why should I have to wait to kill my enemy? Don’t slow down the game, it’s unnecessary.
Throw Sword Block into a pit of fire and never let it see light.
Hey there guys. 343i says that they’ll be adding/fixing the top 5 things the community wants. Flame me if you want, but I think gameplay is fine. If anything, add a playlist.
What I really want I new armor, and I know alot of you guys do too (or at least alot of the guys back at B.Net). So list the 5 armor suggestions or ideas that you’d like 343i to put in the game during or after the TU.
1:st - Blood red visor colour.
2:nd - Pilot helmet making comeback from Reach.
3:rd - Frosting armour effect for your visor, what makes it look like it would be covered with frost.
4:th - Flood armour effect, what gives to your Spartan infected hand (right or left) & cracks in your armour, including visor, green floodish mist surrounding you, like Pestilence, but without those flies.
5:th - Dark green visor colour.
1. Tweek/alter bloom - i’m sure I don’t need to expand on this
2. Armour lock - can use it twice (similar to evade) for ~2-3 seconds . Using it for a fraction of a second to avoid melees is not how I imagine it was intended to be used. Also remove ability to come out of it 360 degrees. If this isn’t enough, possibly only include it in gametypes with vechicles??
3. 1-50 ranking system implemented, even if it’s just in arena.
4. Physics update. In previous halos jumping and strafing were a good tactic. Reach is alot more like other FPS’s as in jumping will get you nowhere and standing still crouching is more benifical… although this is not necessarily bad, it is takes away aspects that made halo different.
5. Alter melee. Incorporate bleedthru maybe?
On another note, this game is crying out for more maps (not just forge creations). Hyped for the CEA maps but another map pack would be awesome
Ranking system of H3 brought back for competative playlists. At least make some other playlist styles ranked. Some objective mixed in with some slayer. MLG style for example.
Bloom Removed…at least an option to remove
Load outs turned off…instead make them pick ups
All load outs nerfed. Jet pack with a lot less power…potentially just a quick burst allowing you to get to places not use it all the time and pick people off from a mile in the air. Armor lock…just scrap it.
No radar in arena! This wouldn’t be as necessary if other ranked playlist were made available.
On/Off toggle for bloom, please don’t try "fixing"the bloom just give us this.
Bleed through damage on beatdowns
Tweak grenade damage and physics. The damage for the grenades are ridiculous also grenades stick to the ground they have no bounciness. Give them halo 2s physics.
Ranking system, enough invisible rank please let us see others rank and also will gives people something to work for again.
Individual damage modifiers, not realistic but would be awesome
1.Weapon Lowering on LIVE-This is very important to the machinima community and it will only make your community happier and more satisfied. Upping sales aswell.
2.Removal of Sounds in Theater Mode-Double Kill,Killing Spree etc. needs to be taken out or atleast give an option where we can take it out our selves.
Visor designs (such as world visor, B v. W banner on b.net)
More shoulder pieces that look like they belong and not look like big chunks of metal welded to a spartan
Third color option for armor(as in halo 3 had armor detail option)
