Rebalance the weapon sandbox. Repeater should be much stronger on shields and take more time to slow down. Focus Rifle should do more damage the further the beam has travelled (long range kills quicker than close range). Plasma Launcher’s plasma rounds should fly through the air quicker. Frag Grenade explosion fuse time should be increased by 1/2 a second. Fuel Rod Gun should stop being so “bouncy”; it bounces at what seems like 35 degrees!. Magnum’s RoF should be increased back to Beta status, and the same with its bloom and recoil. Spiker and Plasma Rifle should kill faster, with the Spiker being more like a powerful AR at close range. Sniper and DMR should do less damage to vehicles to the point that it takes 12 sniper bullets (an entire sniper) to destroy a Banshee and an entire team of 8 must be firing consistently at a Warthog to blow it up. Needle Rifle should do damage to vehicles as well, but not as much. Turrets on vehicles should be more accurate and with the tripod-stand kind the reticule should not grow when the turret is ripped off. Plasma Pistol should have a 2x scope so Elites aren’t totally screwed in the beginning of Invasion Slayer. Tweak bloom on the DMR to reward pacing and discourage spamming (faster reset, same growth). To comensate, make DMR RoF slightly faster so it’s not a slower kill time than the Halo 3 BR. And lastly, rebalance melee mechanics (bleed-through).

Rebalance vehicle sandbox. Banshee bomb should be nerfed and Plasma Cannons should be buffed to Halo 3 standard. Ghost plasma cannons should shoot at Halo 2 speed (much faster). Shade Turret should shoot twice as fast so we can see them in matchmaking. Warthog should have heavier physics, so that they are much less likely to flip. Revenant mortars should fly through air quicker and blind the enemy for longer.

Rebalance AA sandbox. Hologram should be more realistic (no flicker) and appear red on the radar for enemies. AL shouldn’t shed plasma nades and there should be a 1 second delay after you get out so you can’t immediately turn around and melee. Drop Shield should be much stronger, but have a minute long recharge time to work more like the Bubble Shield from Halo 3. Spartan Evade animation should be modified so it doesn’t go as far, and the hitbox glitches should be worked. Sprint should have draw time for melee weapons increased so you can’t dominate with Sprint and Sword. This change will also mean the removal of Sword Block. You should always be visible on radar when in Active Camo, even if you are crouching, as a slightly redder dot; in turn you are still see-through even when walking slowly. Elite Armor Lock should also be red like it was in the Beta, and shields should not recharge!.

New options for Invasion. Allow players to set different objectives such as a Slayer Phase or a King of the Hill phase. Maybe have a way to make both species go for the objective, like both of them have to try and steal the core. Also, separate base player traits for both species so Elites can be stronger in some areas and Spartans can be stronger in theirs. And finally, make team-specific zones so only Red Team will be able to access an area encircled by this hill marker. This way, Blue Team can’t go and spawn camp Red Team because it’ll be out of bounds for them.

Fix as many bugs and glitches that you can.
-Have an option to turn bloom on or off.
-Individual weapon damage modifications as opposed to one which applies to everything.
-Ability to change colours of objects in forge, ie for making different bases, or easy map call-outs.
-Have a ranking system that works. Having the arena divisions and then a trueskill in that would be very affective.
-Would be nice to see the pistol returned to its former glory, not like 3SK as that would be OP but at least increase clip size or make it 4SK so its actually useful.
Weapon Lowering - This feature is massively important to the machinima community and bringing it back will make your community happier.
- Add a visible 1-50 rank system.
- Tweak bloom to punish spamming even more or remove it altogether.
- Reduce grenade damage.
- Make theater watchable with 4 people.
- Reduce Armor Lock time or remove it.
Iam know iam mostly like going to get flame for saying this but most of the people who post on this one thing on there list is the bloom. if you to the bloom out you just have be change reach and that what separate reach from the other. and if you dont like the bloom just live with it. Vehicles take more damage it already hard enough to take out vehicle if your team mates are dont care about them.
but here my top 5
1 grenade bounce- they just dont bounce alot of time they frag sticks to walls and or just sit on the ground
2 armor lock - when someone no shield and armor lock shield regen shouldnt start right when it finish and a emp should disable armor lock
3 flag running - should be able in match making other then mlg
4 power up - should be added os and camo does not seem to be halo with out these
5 more king of the hill, other objective games - it seem to be capture flag or one flag
also if the bloom is less or taken out thank about how over power the dmr is going to be over power it be way to easy to 5 shots and i think alot of people mixing up spam with pacing shots out.
My TOP 5 to title update…
1.Buff AR and NR.
2.Community invasion maps(i got good one :P)
3.Fix bloom.
4.Buff Hog an Banshee but weak the bomb.
5.Take armorlock away.

1-50 ranking system. I’m so fed up of getting xxsuperdonkeykingxx that doesn’t know what the right trigger is.

Option to switch bloom on/off but slow down the ROF. I personally don’t mind bloom but it would reduce the amount of randomness in gun fights.

Remove Armor Lock. No need to explain that really.

Return to Halo 2/3 sniper or idiot proof the Reach sniper. Anyone can pick it up and not miss a shot in it’s current state.

Nerf grenades. Obvious one, grenades don’t even need to be near you to destoy your shields.

Another thing to add to my ‘Top Five’ would be this:
- The ability to change the colour of other peoples Service Tags that appear in game above their character.
When you are playing on a map that’s built on Forge World, it is VERY hard to see other people’s Service Tags above their head due to either the colour of the sky, or the monotone colour of the Forerunner pieces. I’ve betrayed people a few times because I find it so hard to read people’s Service Tags above their head.

That is called the ‘Battle Rifle’ my friend, it is the successor to the DMR in the chronologically anyway, so this will most likely return in Halo 4.
- DMR Bloom: Either Make it so the “optimal RoF” (The RoF where your Opponent fills up 100% of your Reticle) is the only way the shot will hit (or at least make it so bloom 2x the size of your opponent doesn’t register ever). Variable RoF is fine I guess but a system like the NR has would be fine too. Also max bloom should be increased with a faster reset. This would need to be tweaked to keep kill times. IMO the kill time should be shortened a little. Maybe even put all the other weapons on 110% damage (except power weapons and grenades) and up the kill time to that of a full spammed DMR. That would really speed up gameplay.
2.Player Movement: incorporated with the faster kill times would be faster jump height and quick movement to compensate for it. This will bring back some of the effectiveness of strafing and make it so it doesn’t turn into point and shoot CoD style.

Grenades: Nerf something about grenades and IMO change the physics. H3 grenades have been regarded as perfect by many halo players and were one of the few attributes of h3 that even the h3-haters appreciated. Either change back to h3 style or at least lengthen the fuse time or nerf the radius. upped speed and jump height helps a little but IMO nades still need a nerfin.

Weapon Spawns: Either make it so 1. only power weapons won’t spawn until you drop it (instead of all weapons) or 2. make all weapons respawn regardless of it’s possession (like in MLG). It’s REALLY annoying on AR starts on Reflection or Aslyum where there is only 2 DMR’s on the entire map and either: I use all our bases DMR and the other one won’t spawn because I can’t find something to switch it out with, or someone else has it and i’m stuck with a pistol. Also the whole “whoever picks up the symmetrical power weapon first, get’s their next spawn last” thing is just dumb. Like on aslyum if I pick up our snipe before they pick up theirs, our new one won’t spawn til they drop theirs (or something stupid like that, I never really paid enough attention to figure out exactly how it works).

AA’s: either Nerf AA’s, fix the maps, or make them pick ups so that things can’t be abused so easily, but probably a mix of all 3. For example, the cage would either need a kill barrier to prevent the effectiveness of jetpacking, the jetpack should be nerfed so it isn’t so effective, or everyone should have sprint and AA’s should be pick ups. IMO AA’s as pick ups plays so much better than having it off spawn but it’s whatever. At least make it so jetpack doesn’t dominate vertical maps and map control. AL obviously can only be fixed by either removing it non-vehicle-based-maps or changing it’s properties. Some options have probably been presented in earlier posts but I would suggest either: 1. Making it a 1 time use per charge 2. Increase Recharge time or 3. Make it so a PP, Rocket, or anything that would net a “rejection” would break you out of AL. IMO that would make it much more balanced and counter-able. Or a combination. And take out frosting and insta-turn-around-and-run-away or insta-melee etc no matter what. EMP or the concussion thing should stay to keep kids from just sitting on the ALer though. Or it could be like evade where it’s like a 2 second thing and you have 2 per charge. So you can’t just sit there for 5 seconds holding up the game; you can use it to deflect a rocket with perfect timing, a nade, or destroy a vehicle, but that’s it. IMO it would actually take skill to use in that instance.
If none of this seems acceptable AT LEAST make these custom options like the ability to change the power of an individual weapon, allow melee bleed through, grenade damage, etc. Obviously not all of this can be a custom option but much of it could be. Oh and please, the return of shield vapirism as a custom option

Reintroduce the Halo 2 ranking system in all major playlists (Team Slayer, Objective, MLG, etc.).

Give the option to turn bloom on/off in custom games.

Make the grenades and rockets less powerful.

Introduce a colour pallette in forge world, or at least a forging map that doesn’t look so boring.

Make the sniper rifle more difficult to use, i.e Halo 3’s sniper.

Modify DMR Bloom along the lines suggested by many others in the intelligent posts above. I think it should be much closer to the NR Bloom system, with perhaps a few variants. I should not need to explain why, as it has been covered above.

Modify Armor Lock along the lines suggested above and perhaps remove it from all playlists, the only exception being those with BTB variants which feature maps with vehicles. Any modification to AL should: decrease its time-limit from ~8 to 2-3 seconds at most, remove ‘frosting’ (invincible but can move around freely) effect and perhaps allow it to be completely nullified by an overcharged plasma pistol shot.

Remove as many playlists as is humanly possible to increase the Arena population (not directly TU related, but it leads to my next point) and make Arena division placement visible on nameplate in all playlists (TU required).

Weaken grenades down to a level comparable (though not identical to) Halo 3 grenades throughout the entire game.
I’m sure the recommendations made in #4 are a little too much to ask for, but I very much look forward to seeing something like them implemented for the ranked system in Halo 4.

I’m pretty sure that some of the request i’m going to post have be posted several times. But being a competitive gamer and playing on the MLG pro circuit; i think halo reach has a few flaws that can be fixed ( i hope). 1.) Probably everyones biggest problem with the game is the bloom. I thinks its very inconsistent both online and LAN. There are times where you can spam 5 shot a person that is pacing all their shots; and vica versa. the bloom should either be removed or have a toggle opition to be turned [on/off]. the competitive aspect of the game has changed drastically because the “Luck” factor of the bloom. 2.) A ranking system would change the game as well. i know arena has some sort of ranking system; but the halo 2 rankng system was by far the best because it actaully gave you some thing to work towards. A level cap of “50” or having the symbols in halo 2 was awesome to work for! in halo reach i can never search MLG playlist becasue either i match up with kids who’ve never played MLG settiing/gametypes, quit in game, or you play against kids who have no ideal what they’re doing. as a competitive halo player, i feel i can’t better playing under those conditions. a ranking system would change alot of this and make this game alot better. Thats pretty much the only thing i would want to be added in the update/patch. by doing this i think the halo community in general would grow larger, alot more people would come back to the game and start playing again, and you can only make the game better by doing so.
