Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

  1. A custom option to toggle bloom on/off, or remove bloom completely.

  2. A better matchmaking/ranking system for ranked playlist. (i.e groups of 4 vs groups of 4 or 4 vs 3+1 never 4 vs 1+1+1+1)

  3. Change the melee system, so it’s bleedthrough. (Like Halo 3)

  4. Allow a custom options to individually customize weapon damage.

  5. Make different skins for forging, right now everything looks too bland, possibly add grass, rock, dirt, etc. That would be huge for map forging.

  2. RANKS. Bring back the Halo 2 ranking system. Make it nearly impossible to get to the highest rank (like in H2, only a few people ever got legit 50s) No more True SKill BS, no more Arena or “seasons”. Ranks should be based purely off winning or losing, not your k/d.

  3. Arena maps. Zealot is okay, but besides a flood of forge maps that all look grey and boring they’re very few decent small arena maps for use. 4v4 should be the focus of Halo, not 8v8.

  4. Ability to set damage for each weapon on a map. I should be able to have a pistol kill in 3 head shots and a DMR that kills in 10 head shots on the same map if I want.

  1. BLOOM TOGGLE ON/OFF
  2. Bleed Through damage from melee
  3. longer grenade fuse time
  4. MELEE ANIMATION TOGGLE ON/OFF (I hate getting killed on accident because I hold melee for split second to long)
  5. INDIVIDUAL weapon damage, and possibly a option to change how fast/slow you can shoot a weapon?

1-50 is a must!

  1. Bloom remove entirely OR toggle on or off (MOST IMPORTANT!)
  2. Fix the melee system (needs a serious overhaul)
  3. Armor Lock needs to be nerfed.

2.The beat down system, I thought I was playing Halo and not Street Fighter.

I’ll save time by assuming my logic to be self-evident as to the reasons I want the following in an update.

  1. Bloom: make it a no-bloom reticle. Bloom slows down gameplay and leads to random outcomes in close-quarters DMR fights.

  2. Melee: remove the no-bleed-through melee system please.

  3. Slightly increase base movement speed and jump height.

  4. AAs: Nerf them. Almost every AA except sprint serves only to irritate veteran Halo players and slows down gameplay. All I have to say is AL is just rediculously irritating. You can adapt to AL, but why should you have to?

  5. A new forge map with less gray blocks.

  2. 1-50 Ranking system from Halo 2 returned. It was too easy to level in Halo 3. The pretty color/symbol scheme from Halo 2 ranks made it all the better :slight_smile:

  3. Individual weapon modifying. (Setting the DMR to 150% damage without breaking the sniper, etc.)

  4. Color/skin palette for forge objects. The same old grey everywhere gets so boring.

  1. Fix/Remove bloom. It just makes the game frustrating and unenjoyable. It adds nothing to the game but making kill times even longer which is the absolute worst plague about this game.

  2. Add bleed-through melee damage. As it stands now I can shoot somebody over and over and all they have to do is sprint at me and double beat down. Why should they win or it be a tie if I put wayyyyyy more work into the kill then them? I don’t see the logic in them having a sliver of shields and we punch eachother and we are on the same level. It is just completely illogical from a social and competitive standpoint.

  3. I’d like to see shield recharge rates go up by 10%. Basically, this means shields come up in ~7 seconds rather than ~10 seconds. This would make kill times shorter once more since people will spend less time hiding in a corner and waiting for their shields to come up.

  4. I’d loveeeeee to see the grenades get a bit of a nerf. Grenades have always been a support weapon but in Reach its like spawning with two rockets. If you’re down the slightest amount of health and you are full shields, one grenade will kill you. Lame.

  5. I’d like to see kill times shorten by a lot. That is the worstttttttt part of this game. It takes SO long to kill anybody, no wonder everybody camps out with sword/shotty/sniper. AAs like AL, Camo, Evade, and Sprint makes killing somebody impossibly difficult. Here is a list of weapon changes I’d love to see:

a. I’d like to see individual weapon damage modification.

b. With “a.” in place I think it would be very interesting to see the Magnum a four shot kill and the DMR a five shot. I think it’d be an interesting balance and would be beneficial to the game overall. The magnum is such a random weapon and truly punishes one for spamming, why not be rewarded with a faster over-all kill time? Another interesting change would be to make the DMR a 2x zoom and increase the firing rate and bloom reset quicker. Keep it a five shot and just make the fire rate quicker, again, increasing kill times.

I completely disagree with everyone getting mad at Armor Lock, and this is why:
In the Beta, AL was completely OP. You could tap the Abilities button to get locked 5 times in a row before recharge. Since then, they made it so that it takes about a split second for AL to actually initiate, (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve died holding the ability button just because I wasn’t a second quicker). And even if you tap the ability button, you still waste half the ability. So, it is possible for you to tap the button and let go before Lock is initiated, and have wasted half the ability until recharge. Also, there use to be no delay between breaking lock and standing up. Now there is a bit of a delay. I can’t just break lock, EMP you, and then hit you unless you are literally on top of me and have terrible reaction time. In which case, I’m sorry, because you should know better.
Armor Lock has been the most nerfed ability as it is, you don’t need to nerf it any more. It would be like shortening the sprint distance, reducing the jet pack duration, or limiting the amount of evade. What people don’t realize is that someone with ANY of those abilities have a significant advantage over someone with AL: Maneuverability. Ground-Pounders are at a disadvantage when it comes to getting to power weapons, advantageous positions, and even getting to enemies. Sprint, Jet Pack, and Evade are all aggressive abilities leaving only Armor Lock and Invis to those who want to play a more defensive game.
Keep in mind that when someone is in AL, they can’t move. It’s not like they’re in lock, running around EMP-ing everyone they touch into an oblivion. By now, everyone knows that. If I’m in Armor Lock, chances are I’m low on health, and a grenade (it doesn’t even have to be well-timed or placed) will end my life and you don’t even have to be in the same room.
Also, everyone knows that there is an EMP burst at the end of Lock. It is the only thing that keeps trolls from waiting behind a Locked spartan waiting for an assasination. Just because someone is locked, does not mean you have to sit and stare at him. I’ve played games where an entire team just watched me in lock, and then my team came up to wipe them out when they weren’t paying attention. It’s not my fault I’m shiny and the other team was ADD. On the other hand, nothing is more annoying when I’m in lock and no one is around to stare at me, because then I’ve wasted at least half my ability. If someone is in lock, the easiest way to beat them is to walk, sprint, evade, or jet pack away.
I honestly feel that people don’t like armor lock because it requires a bit more thought in order to use effectively and beat efficiently.
Keep in mind, that it is Armor LOCK, and not Over Shield. I really wish people experienced the Beta Lock just to see that what they are dealing with now isn’t that bad.

All that being said, I think they should:

  1. Bring some more Armor Effects in, (I honestly like the idea of the “wort, wort, wort” Elites-only effect).
  2. Make the DMR an automatic weapon like the Needle Rifle (this will increase the bloom, therefore penalizing the spammers)
  3. Bring back Firefight Versus
  4. Bring in some community created Invasion Maps
  5. Make it so that Sprint isn’t toggled, but acts like crouch. That way I can stop running when I let go of the ability button, just like every other ability.

The bloom should be removed completely out of the game!!!
Armor Lock should be the first to -Yoink-!! and maybe all AA as well, bring back the OS and the Invis like back in the glory days.
Make the Spartans jump higher like they did in H2, H3.
The Melee needs the most work, REACH has the WORST melee in Halo history by far, also bring back the bleed through melee system like the other great Halos had.
I know this is probably a very long shot but oh well here it goes…is there any chance that the BR from Halo 2 can return and replace the lousy DMR?? oh god please if this were to happen it would be better than winning the lottery!!! or finding a cure for -Yoink!- and CANCER!!!

Maybe the stupid bloom wont be removed (oh lord please make the bloom go away) but if it has to by federal law stay…then at least fix it so that spammers aren’t rewarded!
