Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

I like bs angel’s suggestion that shooting at Holograms should do damage to yourself. that would make them pretty useful

Remove Armor Lock from Team Slayer.

  1. Ability to Toggle On/Off bloom

  2. Ranking system in certain playlists (MLG, Snipers, Arena)

  3. BLEED THROUGH – Melees should be able to bleed through shields

  4. Ability to change individual weapon damage (such as making the DMR a 4 shot kill without affecting other weapons)

  5. Customization of Armor abilities, such as adjusting speed for sprint or changing the amount of time a player can armor lock.

Bloom needs to be fixed please!! Spammers are almost never punished. I feel like the best option would be not only to fix the bloom but to be able to turn it on/off for gametypes that are made. Taking bloom away will reward the players who truly have the best aim and positioning. Even if the toggle option is implemented I feel like the bloom should be adjusted as it rewards people with kills when they just aim and spray. Spammers should be punished consistently if bloom is implemented.

I also think assists should be adjusted as I feel it takes too many shots to get an assist.

Edit: I also feel like there needs to be an actual ranking system. The game should have playlists devoted to being competitive and to be competitive you have to play people similar in skill.

I personally think that will make them too annoying. Especially when they get in the way, or people would probably use them as shields. I think they’re pretty useful as they are. Especially because they tend to give the user an extra second or so to start shooting first and get the advantage.

  1. Bloom -> Bring LAN Halo back to life and allow bloom toggle! :slight_smile:
  2. Not even sure if this is possible in TU, but an update to the graphics engine -> At the flip of a switch be able to toggle between: Better graphics / Better gameplay. (Personally I’ve had a lot of problems with framerate drops, some people don’t notice it, but it would be nice to see)

  4. Suicide boot option (if a user continually commits suicide, prompt the option to boot him/her using a “veto” type system, ie. needs a majority vote.

  5. Make an elite only playlist? (The elite fans have been slightly ignored in reach seeing as the only gametypes they are in is elite slayer and the invasion playlist and people don’t often pick elite slayer)

Bloom toggle on and off, a skill based ranking system (more incentive to play) and no fall damage but apparently that’s been confirmed.

It saddens me that all of my criticism is ‘make it more like Halo 3’, but honestly Reach made me appreciate that game more than I thought was possible.

On top of the core mechanics I’m not even sure what they could adjust in Reach. If possible, new armour, forge items etc would be great.

Bloom Off and some time between the Bullets and 4 Shot DMR.

  1. Bloom toggle: Weapon bloom needs a on/off option. Spamming works more than it doesn’t…shouldn’t be that way.

  2. 1 - 50 ranking system: Add the 1-50 back. Every hardcore player from Halo that got a high rank like a 50 or 40 in Halo knows that in Halo Reach the matchmaking system has no balance on who you place against or with. Plus the 1-50 system lets each player have something to go for. We all know Arena blows due to it’s population to other playlist…the ranked community left in Halo 3 is bigger…that’s not good, not at all. Social playlist can still exist as well but please just give the hardcore gamers a more balanced ranking system. Also, something like a cR per playlist wouldn’t hurt either… for example, in Halo 3 players could get a general in each playlist by getting 500 exp. Why not have something like this in reach, for example 8,000,000 cR per playlist = inheritor.

  3. Fix theater: Make theater have at least a max party of four. One player just isn’t as fun when it comes down to showing your friends how sick that no-scope you just got was if they all have to download it just to see it.

  4. Power-ups need to be fixed: Camo and Oversheild in Halo Reach are so messed up. Camo should make you invisible like it did in H3, no more crouching to have full camo. Oversheild needs a visual effect to show how much overshield they have left. Not just flaming feat or a forced color that doesn’t change.

  5. Bleed thru: Here is a example of this…Player A shoots Player B 3 times with the Dmr. They both melee each other twice resulting in a neutral (both players kill each other). We all know Player A should of won that fight…It’s like those 3 shots didn’t even exist. Halo 3 had it right.

-Option to turn bloom on/off
-Melee system with bleed through damage
-Faster movement speed without sliding feeling
-Bullets not moving players and vehicles
-Grenades doing less damage and not hitting players off their feet

Toggle On/Off Switch for Bloom.

Halo 3 was the best multiplayer game I ever played.

  1. I want to take my friends into theatre with me.
  2. Fix bloom, don’t remove it.
  3. Remove EMP from armor lock or remove armor lock.
  4. BRING BACK FLAGSTRAVAGANZA.
  5. Melee system update.
  1. Either fix the bloom so spamming isn’t being rewarded, or give a custom option to toggle it on/off
  2. Fix theater, its limited in Halo 3 we could watch a film with up to 4 people and now in Halo Reach, instead of the theater being improved it was almost ruined. It was a lot of fun in Halo 3 to show off a really good game to a friend.
  3. Reduce the splash range on grenades or give us a custom option to modify grenade damage.
  4. Individual weapon damage custom option. Lets us customize the damage for each weapon individually.
    5.Get rid of Armor lock or nerf it.

1) Take out bloom (or make an optional on/off switch)

2) Bring back halo 3 melee system.

3) instead of divison ranking make a 1-50 rank (perferibly in the MLG playlist)

  1. Rebalance the weapon sandbox. Repeater should be much stronger on shields and take more time to slow down. Focus Rifle should do more damage the further the beam has travelled (long range kills quicker than close range). Plasma Launcher’s plasma rounds should fly through the air quicker. Frag Grenade explosion fuse time should be increased by 1/2 a second. Fuel Rod Gun should stop being so “bouncy”; it bounces at what seems like 35 degrees!. Magnum’s RoF should be increased back to Beta status, and the same with its bloom and recoil. Spiker and Plasma Rifle should kill faster, with the Spiker being more like a powerful AR at close range. Sniper and DMR should do less damage to vehicles to the point that it takes 12 sniper bullets (an entire sniper) to destroy a Banshee and an entire team of 8 must be firing consistently at a Warthog to blow it up. Needle Rifle should do damage to vehicles as well, but not as much. Turrets on vehicles should be more accurate and with the tripod-stand kind the reticule should not grow when the turret is ripped off. Plasma Pistol should have a 2x scope so Elites aren’t totally screwed in the beginning of Invasion Slayer. Tweak bloom on the DMR to reward pacing and discourage spamming (faster reset, same growth). To comensate, make DMR RoF slightly faster so it’s not a slower kill time than the Halo 3 BR. And lastly, rebalance melee mechanics (bleed-through).

  2. Rebalance vehicle sandbox. Banshee bomb should be nerfed and Plasma Cannons should be buffed to Halo 3 standard. Ghost plasma cannons should shoot at Halo 2 speed (much faster). Shade Turret should shoot twice as fast so we can see them in matchmaking. Warthog should have heavier physics, so that they are much less likely to flip. Revenant mortars should fly through air quicker and blind the enemy for longer.

  3. Rebalance AA sandbox. Hologram should be more realistic (no flicker) and appear red on the radar for enemies. AL shouldn’t shed plasma nades and there should be a 1 second delay after you get out so you can’t immediately turn around and melee. Drop Shield should be much stronger, but have a minute long recharge time to work more like the Bubble Shield from Halo 3. Spartan Evade animation should be modified so it doesn’t go as far, and the hitbox glitches should be worked. Sprint should have draw time for melee weapons increased so you can’t dominate with Sprint and Sword. This change will also mean the removal of Sword Block. You should always be visible on radar when in Active Camo, even if you are crouching, as a slightly redder dot; in turn you are still see-through even when walking slowly. Elite Armor Lock should also be red like it was in the Beta, and shields should not recharge!.

  4. New options for Invasion. Allow players to set different objectives such as a Slayer Phase or a King of the Hill phase. Maybe have a way to make both species go for the objective, like both of them have to try and steal the core. Also, separate base player traits for both species so Elites can be stronger in some areas and Spartans can be stronger in theirs. And finally, make team-specific zones so only Red Team will be able to access an area encircled by this hill marker. This way, Blue Team can’t go and spawn camp Red Team because it’ll be out of bounds for them.

  5. Fix as many bugs and glitches that you can.

  1. Remove Bloom on Precision Weapons (DMR, Pistol, Needle Rifle) or tweak it in such a way that it will never reward spamming.

  2. Return Bleed-Through, as the current melee system is completely unplayable and results in many frustrating moments.

  3. Grenades need to have their blast radius reduced, their damage decreased and their fuse timer increased, as they are far too powerful in comparison to the very slow killing non power weapons. The more similar to Halo 3’s grenades, the better.

  4. Armor Lock is far too powerful when compared to other armor abilities. Invulnerability has no place in a multiplayer shooter, especially when it is accessible at the press of a button and it completely ruins the pace of an already unfortunately slow game.

  5. Increase movement speed. jump height and strafe acceleration, as they all would help to make the game faster paced and more fun in general.
