Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

  1. Increase health on vehicles or decrease weapon damage done to them.

  2. Nerf Armor lock to make it not as overpowered, gameplay stopping, and just plain annoying.

  3. For Forge, fix known issues and bugs with snap rotations and such.

  4. Ranked and Social Playlists with 1-50 ranking system.

  5. Bloom could use a tweaking.

Realistic
1.-More resistant vehicles. Actually a banshee can be blown up by some dmr/sniper shooting. And the other vehicles are also not resistant
2.-VIP mode included in BTB playlist
3.-Put warthog gauss in any map and also add more scorpions
4.-Give us some incentive to win, like more credits to the winner or half credits to the looser
5.-Remove credit limit
Funny
1.- Fix the fans, they’re always complaining
2.-Fix the armor lock, it’s too nerf, it must give you total inmunity to anything
3.-Fix the DMR bloom it’s waaaaaay too overpowered. When you shoot eith your DMR, your DMR would start flying and leave the map. It will be back in your hands in 2 hours 37 minutes
4.-It’s not so easy to destroy vehicles with the DMR/sniper. Put in all vehicles target dummyes so everyone can shot them
5.-The sword block is not fair. So remove it and put a modifier that allows you to kill everyone on the map when you are holding the sword.

My top 5:

  1. Re-introduce H3 ranking system (but keep credits)
  2. Nerf AL
  3. Tone down grenade damage (slightly)
  4. Remove sword block
  5. Nerf bloom (perhaps not complete removal?)

Out of the five, I would most like #1 to come to pass, so we could actually compete for 50s and have a goal.

  1. no bloom/lucky spread in headshot weapons. just like h1 and post patch h2.

  2. reduce melee damage so it only takes out 50% of your total shields + health, or because you dont have a 1/1 shield health ratio, adjust melee damage so it does the same % of damage to health that it does to shields. assuming full health, a guy with 50% shields survives a punch with 50% health. a guy with 1% shields survives a punch with 1% health. gun damage never simply dissappears like it does with current no bleed.

  3. all non instakill guns kill 30-40% faster, depending on the weapon. its absurd that its quicker to walk at someone from 50 feet or sprint at them from 100 feet away and beat them down then it is to shoot them. its ridiculous that even if someone has been working you over with a gun for a few seconds, you still have time to toss 2 nades and run off.

  4. patch in an option to let us adjust health, like we can already adjust shields. assuming you wont do #3, this lets us do it for you. for example 75% shields + 125% health would alleviate alot of the headshot weapon killtime problems without breaking nades/snipe/explosives.

  5. if im not in a party of 4, dont match me against parties of 4.

  1. Bloom. Either remove it or make a custom game option to disable it.

  2. Armor lock. Remove the EMP. Add a delay in the melee attack after coming out of armor lock. Only let a player use armor lock for a second.

  3. Grenades. Decrease the radius or the damage.

  4. Aim acceleration. Remove it or add an option to disable it.

  5. Betrayers and quiters. Decrease the damage you can do on teammates and show the boot option after one betrayal. When somebody quits, somebody in the enemy team has to wait to respawn, so the teams are balanced.

  1. Remove Bloom: shouldn’t have to rely on luck to get you kills.
  2. Bleed through melees: I hate putting 3 shots into a guy and meleeing him to only take down his shield when he can just melee me once and do the same amount of damage.
  3. Individual customisation of each weapons damage: would make multiplayer so much better
  4. Armour abilites: armour lock needs to go, what were they thinking? Sprint is fine, evade is fine, bubble shield and camo can go imo
  5. Fix Theater: why make it worse? It was fine in Halo 3 and now we cant watch films in a party? And make it so you can watch clips in a party too, not just whole games.

Side note, bring back all the old emblems, what reason was there for taking them away?

  1. AL/JP/AC as pickups only. No Evade in Spartans only MM matches.

  2. Take out bloom and leave AR reticle as is upon removal of bloom to make it a decent weapon against DMR.

  3. Bleed through shields at 20%-15% or lower. 23% left on the shields should save one from melee but a sliver saving a player is str8tarded.

  4. 1 frag & 1 plasma nades at spawn.

  5. Fix AL frost & Plama shedding.

My Top 5. Redone

  1. Remove Bloom.

  2. Nerf Armor Lock.

  3. Revamp Ranking System. Halo 3’s one was what I liked.

  4. Bring back previous credit gain rates (i.e. offline account rates, which I think were more…normal. Hoping against hope for this.)

  5. Apply armor colours to more parts separately (i.e. helmet colour, shoulder colours, etc. Would allow for more colourful customizations, won’t it?)

Sounds like most people have stupid things on their wishlist, such as removal of things such as AL and Evade (Spartans). Why would you take those things away?

Go play Halo 3 if you want to play Halo 3, Play Reach if you want to play Reach. Don’t make Reach into Halo 3.5

  1. the removal of AL from all playlists except Invasion and BTB.
  2. Multi-team restored to six teams of two.
  3. Rocket hog race given it’s own playlist but with teams of two and regular rocket race added.
  4. The cage and uncaged removed from Living dead (or the camping spots fixed)
  5. Revert the warthog back to it’s Halo 3 counterpart.

1.Sniper Rifle causes much less damage towards vehicles (It would take 10 bullets to destroy) a Banshee.
2.Armor Lock use time reduced.
3.DMR causes no damage towards vehicles.
4.Fixed Bloom (on DMR and other weapons).
5.Armor Lock doesn’t destroy vehicles but only takes 10% of the vehicles health.

  1. Tweak Bloom cooldown speed not remove it.

  2. Betrayal system, annoying when you can betray once (even if by accident) and get booted but teammates can do it 2 or more times before the option appears. Another way would be a mercy feature so when you forgive a teammate and you accidently betray someone, they cannot boot you until the second offense.

  3. Fix the Reach tech glitch which only allows 3 DLCs to be loaded into the game at given time. (For future DLC for the game)

  4. Slight health increase for vehicles.

  5. The hiden trueskill feature is fine as is, no need to pay against people who all they do is rank 50s up and then sell them off as fast as they can. That sucked in Halo 3. But some sort of skill displayed would be nice.

1)They should make a ranking system similar to halo2/halo3. I wanna match up with ppl who are my skill lvl not people 10x worse.

  1. I think you should take out the bloom all together and make it more like the br from h2, something consistant nothing random consistency is whats important.

3)Grenades in halo reach are like nukes I think you should weaken them just a little.

4)you guys should fix the melee system to were it was at the end of halo 3

  1. Put more symetrical maps in the game similar to narrows.

Nerf armour lock in the following way:

  • Remove the frosting effect (which I’m pretty sure is a bug anyway)
  • Make it so that when you come out of armour lock, your shields don’t recharge immediately, but instead the timer until your shields are recharged is PAUSED whilst you’re in armour lock
  • It doesn’t shed grenades; if you’re stuck before you go into AL, you die.
  • Once you go into armour lock you cannot come out of it until the full amount of time is up. This will stop it being so powerful against melee weapons, making people waste their rockets, etc.
  • 3 seconds, not 5 seconds. This will speed up gameplay when people are -Yoink!- AL.

Alternatively, leave it exactly as it is but don’t allow it to be used as a starting loadout in ANY gametype (but ESPECIALLY assault gametypes) and just have it as a pickup on the map. That way it will still be overpowered, but everyone can fight over it just like rockets or snipe. If you win a weapon/AA, it’s okay for it to be overpowered 'cause everyone has a fair chance at getting it.

Please everyone, actually think about how easy the DMR would be to use without bloom in its’ entirety. It just needs to be tweaked so that spamming the DMR isn’t as successful. Pacing shots needs to be encouraged. Without any bloom at all, nobody would ever miss. Reach’s game speed is very slow and it’s so easy to snipe and shoot the weapons already. No bloom at all would be an absolute disaster, there would be no skill gap. Mark my words.

Tweak the banshee:

  • Longer recharge time for the banshee bomb.
  • Longer recharge time for the evade/flips.

Also, a suggestion that doesn’t need to be covered by a title update but something I’d like to see: BTB maps (or maybe an entire playlist) without vehicles.

Remove sword blocking unless you both have a sword. Somebody meleeing your sword shouldn’t cancel out the sword; this makes it practically useless and doesn’t really give much of an advantage in melee battles.

Halo 3 ranking system or similar.

I may tweak this later if I remember some things that I would prefer to have changed!

I’m just going to do a brain-dump of what I personally think needs addressing in a TU, in no particular order of merit, rather than a top 5, in the hope it adds value to the input 343 are taking. These are based on my time spent purely in multiplayer matchmaking, so you won’t see any mention of Forge/Theatre etc. enhancements.

  1. AL - needs to altered so that it has less influence on the way games on certain maps (you know the ones) can become horrible random sequences of grenades/lock/punch/grenade fests etc. Plenty of good suggestions how this can be done so no need to repeat, but shedding definitely needs to go for a start.

  2. Banshee - anyone who’s played Elite Slayer on Pinnacle will know that once a half-decent pilot gets it, they can easily win the game for their team, irrespective of whether the entire opposing team switches to PPistols and tries to down it. Banshee tricks need to be coupled to the boost meter imo, and bomb splash damage radius needs to be reduced, but not it’s power - it ought to need to bit more skill to aim at non-vehicle ground targets. Elite slayer is just a good example of this, and I know that part of the problem is there are no DMRs, but nevertheless, unlimited tricks + huge bomb damage radius make it OP.

  3. Revenant passenger auto-aim, say no more.

  4. That annoying glitch where your spartan likes to spazz out whilst sprinting

  5. A little more jump height, or a tad less frag damage blast radius

  6. Plasma Launcher - Bungie nerfed it a bit too hard from it’s Beta version, somewhere between it’s previously overpowered Beta state and how it is now would be better.

  7. Return Melee bleed through to Halo 3 levels - the melee-shield mechanics in Reach still feel alien, and unfair. Encourages double melee sprinters, which, like AL, spoil the Halo gameplay imo.

  8. Remove regen from drop shield, and shorten it’s duration and shield strength. Decrease it’s activation time to compensate though.

  9. Active camo - make some distinction about whether it’s a friend or foe who has it activated.

  10. Consider very carefully before making changes to vehicle strength (exception of Banshee, as above) versus weapons. I see lots of requests for more health, less vulnerability, but I think Bungie have got the balance almost right now, and it needs very little tweaking. I believe this perception of vehicle flimsiness is as much a product of the paricular map & weapon availabilities, as much as any inherent need to rebalance all that much. In short, I think there’s a danger they could be over-buffed.

  11. Bring back ranked, but in a way that discourages 2nd accounts. I know that’s a tall order :slight_smile: Maybe one idea would be to make the numerically ranked playlists unavailable until you ‘reach’ a certain rank (i.e the current time-related ones). This would have to be coupled with an automatic AFK-boot mechanic to make sure people cannot idle their way there.

  12. automatic AFK-boot mechanic - good idea in it’s own right (see 11)

  1. Remove bloom or add the option to remove bloom in custom gametypes.
  2. Have weapons and melees bleed-through shields into health like previous Halo games.
  3. Individual weapon/grenade/melee damage modifiers for custom gametypes.
  4. Nerf grenades and rockets and maybe grenade launcher damage and maybe grenades fuse time. If you implement my #3 then this is not a big deal since people can do it themselves in custom games.
  5. Add back ranks (ranks like in Halo 2, where it was incredibly hard to get over a 40, and not like Halo 3 where everybody had a 50).

  5. don’t really care about armor lock but if many would like it gone wouldn’t mind it gone…

Here’s mine:

  1. Reduce duration of Armor lock and make it a 1 use before it has to recharge, no matter how long you use it for.
  2. Balance the weapons so the Assault Rifle and other basic weapons have a chance in combat against the power wepaons.
  3. Have some new gametypes where Armor Abilities are pickup’s. By this I mean that everyone has a choice of either Sprint or evade at spawn and you have to find other AA’s around the map. Also these AA’s can be dropped just like weapons either on death or by player choice.
  4. Add more gametypes to Reach including VIP rocket race etc.
  5. For the love of god, KEEP BLOOM. its the only thing seperating the good player’s from the player’s who have to spam weapons to get kills

1-Applying a better ranking system.
2-Remove bloom
3-Nerf/removal of AL
4-Increase moving speed/ jump height (Halo 3)
5-Make vehicle health like Halo 3, and making them more resistant to gunfire (A sniper should not take out a vehicle.)

1 - Weaken grenades or make them dodge-able
2 - Remove bloom
3 - Make AA’s pick-ups, and make AA’s editable in game options
4 - More settings regarding weapon damage/AA strength available
5 - 1-100 Ranking system (And make it almost impossible to get to 100, much like Halo 2’s system) 6 - BLEED THOUGH DAMAGE ON BEATDOWNS
