All I got
All I got
There’s not much I would change, I think it’s a great game. although the forge bothers me the most. I will list a couple changes I would like to see made.
#1 For fans of class based combat, we should be able to limit the amount of a certain classes. Say if we only want 1 sniper at most on the field, we should be able to limit classes.
I guess that was more of a gametype thing. anyways…
#3 PLEASE Fix the Annoying bug where when I save a map, it saves over other maps.
#4 I would add a save option to Forge Gametypes as well, I like my prefferences certain ways when I forge, and having to set it up every day is redundant.
#5 One last thing, Please extend the Boundaries under water and by the waterfall just a little bit. I think Hundreds if not thousands of people might like a little more space in those areas.
Thanks for your time, Have a good night.
An interesting change of events 343 – I’m loving this community involvement…
Concerning Reach’s promised Title Update, I have the following reasonable requests (in order of importance).
Weapon/Vehicle Balancing. I know it’s vague, but you’ll understand what I mean momentarily… The most ridiculous weapon in Reach is definitely the Sniper Rifle, a weapon that can 1-hit KO pedestrians and 4-hit KO VEHICLES. This rifle has become the one-all-be-all gun to win every battle – hence the ridiculous cockerspaniel fighting that goes on at the start of every Hemorrhage game. I believe that it would have been far more interesting to make plasma weapons extra effective at damaging vehicles and to make bullets very ineffective. This would open up a whole new scheme of weapons, allowing concussion rifles, plasma rifles, repeaters and the like to have new purpose and new life. But again, this would affect vehicle balancing because when one thing changes, all others must change too (think sniper-banshee combo).
Creating a visible competitive environment with long-term incentives based upon skill exhibition. i.e. Something Arena’ish would be fine, but it needs to be on the front page. It needs to unlock the next tier of ranks, or supply bountiful amounts of credits (i.e. cR reward for Onyx players at end of season, etc.) Playing the game forever is all well and fine, a mark of dedication. But shouldn’t they stand beside their skillful brother counterparts?
Move away from the ‘Loadout’ AA mentality and toward the ‘Pick-Up’ mentality. Make ‘pick-ups’ the new standard. Equality at the start has been a hallmark feature of Halo and the variable starting options provide a non-linear type of non-vanilla Halo. I’m not saying that Loadouts don’t belong… but I don’t believe they should collectively exist as ‘normal Halo’. The problem with Loadouts is that they tend to steal the show instead of supplementing the main feature: teamwork and killing things. AAs encourage individual play (the “I’m special” syndrome) and dramatically increase kill times.
Forgive the short 2nd para. When I get Armor Locked or Invisi-sniped, I don’t feel gratitude toward a skillful player like I might have for a really sweet H2 360 no scope. Instead, I just feel like a gimmick was exploited. At least if teams were forced to fight over incentived ‘power-weapon-esque’ AAs, we’d have some good ol’ fashioned vanilla balance.
A Revamped Voting System that allows for varied gameplay OR matchmaking preferences for GAMETYPES (flag, slayer, etc.)
A FREAKING LEGENDARY ENDING… perhaps that’s a little too much to ask for… but really.
Other thoughts on my mind concerning less reasonable requests: Reworking ‘Gametype Editor 0.5’ to a standard above H3’s 1.0. in order to match Forge 2.0 (Why the hell were options removed?? sigh). Custom Game Lobby Searching. Options to allow ODST-esque firefight, etc.
I hope the TU makes reach play more like Halo 3 and Halo 2 because in its current state its atrocious.
Get rid of bloom
Melee bleed through (and 3 hits for a kill -full health-)
Get rid of AA (Armor lock first)
Increase movement speed and jump height
Faster kill times (like Halo 2)
Fix Matchmaking
Add 1-50 (or 1-100)
Fix the betrayal system
Buff the vehicules
Fix the sniper (takes no skill)
TU abide by the laws acceptable to Hobie:
All grenades are to be sent back from the frontlines and returned to the nuclear plants where the soldiers stole them from. In return all manufactuers who provide the military with weapon shipments are to immediatley send out the newly designed grenades. These grenades will provide a more pratical role in flushing out players and grazing enemeis with a more suitable AoE blast radius.
The ability: Armor Lock; is being repurposed as well. Since we are in a recession on energy bills are outrageous, we need to save money where we can for our funding wars. Armor Lock will now be more energy efficent and last only three to four seconds if held in for it’s full use. The module has been refit to prevent early stages of “frosting” and should the spartan require an emergency disengagment the module will shut down immediatly to conserve power.
Vehicles have been refitted with supplement armor. Footage has shown that ground soliders were capeable of destroying anything from the Scorpion tank to the Warthog with the standard issued DMR and sniper rifle. After suffering heavy losses (approximatley 44,324 decomissioned UNSC vechicles) it became mandatory to refit our soldiers with some reliable assault vehicles.
4. Weapon specs have been altered to correct the issue of guns misfiring in the new Bloom design. The guns have less recoil and fire within a more respectable range and spread then its older model. Still pace those shots spartans, but now you don’t have to worry about getting out guned by a eager trigger-happy enemy.
5. We have finally cured Rigor Mortis! Time to relax your arms and lower those guns! Just because your on the frontline doesn’t mean we can’trelax once and a while.
*Note: Failure to abide by these rules will result in an automatic discharge from the UNSC and shot into the nearest sun.
To sum it up:
: D
Bloom toggle.
Melee bleed-through.
H2/H3 style rankings in MM.
> H2/H3 style rankings in MM.
They are vastly different. Did you play both games?
Make armour lock less useful. Lasts for 2 seconds instead of 7. Does not destroy vehicles and acts more like a rock would a vehicle collides.
Fix the hologram problem with the radar for clients.
Improve all automatic (except for the needler rifle).
Improve all of the covenant weapons.
Add and remove bloom from the appropriate weapons. The bloom on the sniper is POINTLESS!
people to stop -Yoinking!- about armor lock its rather easy to counter but that cant be a title update
1: more armor for halo waypoint make special armor for people who have all the achievements in the halo games
examples:all halo 3 achievements gets hayabusa armor
all odst achievements gets you all of the odst squads helemts attachments for the odst helmet like romeo scope thing mickys flash light dutchs more bulk helmet and bucks thing
all wars gets you a arbiter elite
all reach gets you some new armor
and all achievements gets you something wicked looking
2. smg bungie was able to add a golf club in halo 3 it should be possiable to make it even if its a assult rifle with the look of an smg it would still be nice
3: LOWER GUNS even if you have to make a game type called machinima mode theres chess so there should be a special way to make this possiable and if so make it possiable to spawn ai units for this special mode this would be helpful also make a special green screen map if possiable
4. dont listen to people complaining about armor abilities because once you change it you are going to have the side that liked the old way asking for it back and there is no point changing it will just make chaos
5: allow a playlist that allows players who play as elites to play as elites with spartans just like it was in halo 2 and 3 i understand elites have better speed jump and shields but they are also very tall and cant get healed by health packs also the people who do play as them will just mean they are not that skilled.
that is all
In order from least wanted to greatest:
In contrary of nerfing Armor Lock, make it more usable. What people don’t realize is Armor Lock is pretty
buggy, what it really needs is:
Go ahead and disable E.M.P. for PEOPLE, not vehicles.
Less time going in, more time coming out.
1.5 second melee recovery from Armor Lock
Instead of Warthogs, Revenants, etc. ramping over, make them stop dead in their tracks.
Armor Lock pops nearby foes away, making up for the loss of E.M.P.
Get rid of the bloom on all precision weapons. Too many people spam them and it needs to be fixed. Better yet, make that a variable, make it something you can toggle in game options.
Speaking of toggle, give us a new world of toggling. I.E. splatters on/off, regardless of damage. Headshots insta-kill on/off, regardless of damage. Stuff like that!
Moar Gametypes and weapons. Enough said.
A new Forge World, one with destructible and more interactive items, more Halo 3 items, I.E. a destructible Gravity Lift. We can’t play certain Infection gametypes for this reason, along with many other gametypes. Not necessarily a new map, more along the lines of the same Forge World, new items.
And on a final note: Thanks for continuing the greatest legacy of all time. You guys rock.
SparingLink77
(In order of how much they make me angry)
Cool down time between Banshee flips, which should also use the boost meter.
Credit incentives for winning team-based objective games. It’s the only way you’ll make people stop spawn-killing/ignoring the objective.
Increase warthog health and make it slightly heavier so you can’t flip it by turning a corner or shooting it with a DMR. It is currently a useless, pirouetting death trap.
Rebalance almost all the weapons so they’re not completely useless next to the DMR. Especially the AR, which should always be able to beat a marksmanship rifle at close range.
Institute a system where, if somebody is betrayed whilst holding the sniper rifle, they always have the option to boot. I don’t usually snipe that much but normally when I go for it someone either tries or succeeds in killing me, and I never get the chance to kick them. Chances are, a sniper’s not going to encounter the legitimate, accidental betrayals (being run over, grenades in tight spaces), so allowing the option to kick for every sniper betrayal would make griefing for it impossible.

also i know this is a very hypocrit thing to say when i say dont alter any of the abilites but make active camo the way it was in the old days where moving didnt make visable or make it so the armor abilty stays the same and the orb version makes you invisable
1.Ranking system for each playlist like Halo 3, 2
2.No Armor Lock
3.Fix Bloom
4.Theater with more then 1 person
5.Gernades lowered damage
Lots more suggestions, but you said top 5. So, to sum it all up, I’ve been reading, and it seems like people want more of the Halo CE experience. Why not give it to us? Bungie wanted to change too much. Perhaps classic style playlist, with classic style weapon abilities, physics, vehicles that were worth a crap.
Thank you!
I really hope that someone from 343 reads these. If you are, thanks most of all for not letting Halo die. You’re awesome.
The 5.
Add a delay of 1 second from when exiting armour lock and make the EMP effect weaker.
Fix bloom by making it shoot around the edges of the reticle, nothing more.
Fix the Revenant Sniping glitch.
Fix a few weapons -
Nerf the AR so it takes more shots to kill, make it do less damage to health.
Buff the Spiker, to 20 spikes to kill.
Buff the Plasma Rifle so it has faster cool-down.
Make the DMR ONE MORE shot to kill in the body.
Buff the Plasma Repeater to be Equal to the AR.
Make the Concussion Rifle have a little less push back force.
Make the Sniper Rifle a LITTLE weaker to Vehicles, such as one more shot to kill the Vehicles.
Buff the Focus Rifle to one less energy power to kill a person (Buff it only a tiny bit).
Reduce Shotgun’s damage at a long range.
Buff the Plasma Launcher’s homing ability by a little.
Reduce Grenades’ damage at a range (Reduce the Damage Radius by a bit).
Reduce homing of the needles on the Needler.
Make the Needle Rifle one more shot to the body to supercombine.
Give us lots more options in custom games, this would make customs more fun with even more possibilities than before.
Things to keep;
Reaches Vehicle health system.
Reaches Vehicles.
Sprint, and all the armour abilities.
Shielding System (Like Shield popping).
Keep the Ranking system.
Hope you take these into consideration.
