Your "Top 5" for the Title Update

I reckon the multiplayer is what it is, you guys talk of bloom fixes, thats cool but it sounds like your trying to make a game thats casual to the core sort of competitive.

I’d like to see.

Massively improved Custom Game Options.

Alternate Skins for Forge world, Desert, Snow, Lush valley.

Improved forge world environment options.

Individual weapon trait editor.

1.bring back the classic feeling
2.Fix bloom
3.Buff Repeater,Plasma Rifle,AR
4.take out EVERY AA and use only Power ups
5.Fix bugs

My “Top 5” (in no particular order, some are possible but some MAY seem A BIT much)

  1. REMOVE THE BLOOM, at least from precision weapons

  2. If it is possible to change the physics of Reach to be more like Halo 3’s (this would count for player movement, weapons, melee, vehicles, and yes even dead corpses so that tee bagging has that same full filling feel to it again) PLEASE CHANGE IT!!!

  3. The idea of active camo is to be invisible, NOT popping in and out of view when moving (which makes no sense) Reach’s current camo is so f@$#ing pointless. Armour abilities SHOULD BE PICKUPS ACROSS ALL MAPS. People could have sprint as a default AA when spawning.

  4. Armour lock needs to realize that it is not wanted around AND BE REMOVED, at least from matchmaking.

  5. Include the fun games that halo 3 featured online (mainly from Action Sack) , and COMPLETELY redo the playlists that Reach already has.

  1. Change DMR to the BR, cap ROF, do away with bloom but make the actual reticle size somewhere inbetween the tiny circle before shooting and the outer reference circle. Oh, and 4 shot kill, so adjust Magazine size in accordance.

  2. Small arms should NOT do damage to vehicles. Change it back to the H3 vehicles

  3. Nerf and Buff vehicles
    Nerf

  • Banshee bomb and spins
  • The ease of use in the Scorpion’s turret, something just makes it so much easier to destroy with
  • Just completely do away with the Sniper dismantling vehicles, it is ridiculous

Buff

  • Warthog Turret accuracy
  • Every vehicles health
  1. Change melee back to the H3 system, with bleed through

  2. Just remove Armor Lock, Invincibility has no place in Halo, even if it is nerfed.

  1. Tweak bloom
  2. Add forgeable elephants in forge world
  3. Remove or nerf jetpack(Yep thats right. Not armour lock. Jetpack)
  4. Add halo 3’s melee bleedthrough system
  5. Make the melee recover time longer so it is impossible to double melee.

Can’t remember if I posted in this thread before, but these are my new top 5 anyway.

Actually, I’d gladly take back all my suggestions to submit five suggestions of:

1-5) drop in matchmaking, like Call of Duty, so that a) when you have quitters you get replacements and b) you don’t have to wait as long in a lobby.

  1. Nerf the Banshee. Mainly the trick/evade spam it is capable of. Use the TU to make each trick/evade drain one quarter of the ‘boost bar’. This spam renders lock on from Rockets, PP, Plasma Launcher and Rocket Hog useless. I can live with the ridiculous splash damage on the mortar, but just fix the evasion spam please.

  2. Fix the Gauss Hog. Apparently it is broken in certain FW maps, and I just miss my favourite vehicle.

  3. Optimize bloom. Magnum has too much, DMR bloom is way off.

  4. AL. This is a curse on Halo, it needs to be nerfed to only last 2/3 seconds and give off no EMP. It should be restricted to large games. Failing that, remove it completely.

  5. Frags. I think they need to be nerfed just slightly. Basically, one frag should never kill you if you have 50% or higher shields.

  1. Remove bloom from precision weapons.

  3. Increase player strafe acceleration (faster directional change) and movement speed.

  4. Remove aim assist on melee’s.

  5. Add in a health modifier option or finer tuning for the damage modifier.

If you don’t want this game fixed, or feel that this game doesn’t need fixing - you obviously don’t play the game enough so you have very little say in this. For those of us who actually play the game enough to know what’s its flaws and want Reach to be an above average shooter, we actually do know what’s best for the game and will try our hardest to make sure this game gets a few fundamental mechanics fixed.

Theres too many things to add, but I’ll just pretend that 343 ISN’T just listening to five things, that they are listening to everything.

  1. Reorganize the hoppers and playlists, remove all community maps from gametypes except Action Sack:

Social ( IT NEEDS TO BE NAMED SOCIAL ): Rumble Pit (8), Social Slayer (5v5), Social Objective (5v5), Invasion (8v8, Remove Skirmish), Multi-Team ( 3v3v3v3 ), BTB (8v8)

Arena: Arena FFA (8), Arena Slayer (4v4), Arena Doubles (2v2), Arena Objective (4v4), Arena Snipers (4v4), Arena Swat (4v4), MLG (4v4)

Co-Op: Firefight (Classic), Firefight Arcade (No Arcadefight, no FRGfight), Firefight Versus (3v3), Campaign

Community: Action Sack (5v5), Infection (12), Grifball (4v4), Classic (4v4)

Grab-bag: Varies with new Ideas

Make most playlists DLC required. ( Not enough money is no excuse if you can pay for Xbox Live )

  1. Overall, make this game like the Beta

  2. Remove or Nerf: Sword Block, Armor Lock ( If everyone demands it ), Hammer block, all Human and Covenant small arms damage against vehicles ( Sniper, DMR, Magnum etc. ), Banshee Bomb ( Nerf ), Banshee Trick Speed, Add slight recoil to Sniper Rifle, Grenades ( Nerf ), Pro gametypes ( Or at least NR from it ), remove being able to get credits in offline modes and only getting them in MM ( Prevents Campaign boosting ).

  3. Add: Invasion Green vs Purple, 16 rounds to kill for AR, 352 rounds in reserve for AR, 15 rounds for repeater, decrease bloom on it, make Elites as powerful as they were in the Beta, Shotgun Blue lights, Armor from Beta, Beta Plasma Launcher, Beta Sword Base, remove kill zone on Zealot, Add killzones in all camping spots out of playable areas ( Sword Base Ledge, Boardwalk etc ), Beta Active Camo!, Increase time of Sprint and Jetpack, make Hologram more durable, Make evade ELITES ONLY, Sprint SPARTANS ONLY, Armor Lock ( If not removed ) SPARTANS ONLY, Add normal warthog instead of Rocket hog on one FF map, Add Zealots and Field Marshalls into FF, Add Overshield effect from Halo 3 instead of this limited flaming feet, Halo 3 Infection, not Reach Infection ( Black Zombies, Shields, no AA’s, etc ), make black a color, add back all missing emblems from past games, if you use Kurki shoulder, remove normal knife and add an assassination for it, being able to see Arena Division in all gametypes, Add old Arena Formula with tweaks, FIX BLOOM, Bleedthrough

  4. Reset every player in every way, so now everyone has equal footing. This way, all Farmers and boosters will now have to work for their rank, and not every single person will be a general or higher ( Seeing as a majority of all players are high ranks from farming or boosting ).

Please consider some of this 343, Please listen and fix this game and make it what it was intended to be!

AR needs a bit more spread and less bullet magnetism.

hi, just saying i thought of an idea. what if we could fully customize our controls because i like have (b) as melee. but i also like (x) being weapon pickup and to enter and disembark a vehicle. so i thought how about having controll customization like fallout’s where you can make any button do any thing! you could even have left trigger to enter a vehicle (if you wanted). so who thinks this is a good idea to be fully implemented into the reach update, halo 4, halo 5…ect…ect

STOP SAYING TO REMOVE ARMOR ABILITIES!!!

Not many of us want them gone. Not many of us want all AA’s made into equipment or removed completely, not many of us want AL removed, not many of us want Jetpack removed, not many of us want Evade removed, not many of us want Active Camo removed. They can be changed and nerfed to some extent, they can be removed from some playlists, but don’t nerf them too much, or they will become completely useless and unbalance gameplay, which is exactly what we’re trying to fight. There are people who want all armor abilities so nerfed that they will become 100% useless. These people hate Sprint because it allows the double beatdown, they hate AL because it slows the game down (so do I, so nerf it a LITTLE), they hate Jetpack because it allows people to do something they don’t expect, and they hate Evade because it allows people to use it to run away or attack. DEFINITELY don’t do anything with Active Camo - the complaints about it are so ridiculously hypocritical. 50% of the population says remove it completely because it’s useless because when you move you become visible, and to replace it with the Halo 3 invisibility powerup. The other 50% says it’s completely amazing and is so unfair that it should be removed. These people just hate that their competitors can do things that they don’t expect, but should expect. They don’t want to adapt.

Now, I like the idea of powerups in Matchmaking, as long as Armor Abilities are there too, and if the graphics of powerups are improved to make them actually cool (the invisibility doesn’t work like it did in H3, which it should, and the overshield does not show that you have it).

My top 5

  1. No bloom
  2. Lower the amount of damage grenades do (It’s absolutley ridiculous how much damage they do right now)
  3. Make how fast you can melee slower and make it hit through shields like halo 3
  4. Remove Armour lock
  5. Add a freaking ranking system, credits aren’t doing it for me.

  4. Fix the “killed each other with bullets” or “mutual kill” crap. No other Halo had it, why add something that stupid?
  5. This will never happen, but can you please run this damn game at 60fps!? All other games blow Reach out of the water visually…60fps would be one hell of a start.

  • More creative forge world maps with objects, like Sandbox. The itiems on forge world are dull and all grey.
  • idc much about the armer but I suggest more armer and more secret helmets like the haunted skull.

  • The quiting system, Whenever I play a match someone(s) quits 80% of the time.
  • The super jackpot weekend is useless
  • Bungie/343 you guys should make another type of armer like (recon) or flames and re add bungie favorites and people who get on the favorites get rewarded that type of product, to motovate people of forging maps, and getting more creativity with custom games
  • File share; it has to be fixed. halo 3 had the fil share right. Also pictures. Pictures will never be the same like halo 3. Nobody ever looks at each others file share anymore because its broken, one must wait for pics to load… ect
  • The arena, it has to be fixed
  • Halo 3 equipment was great like the bubble shields
  • Fix ranking system. Every match is the range of 1-3 thousand credits and halo 3 had it right.
  • THEATER FIX only one person can watch a video?!?!!? and in the prevouse halo you could have 4. That makes no sence at all.

  • Two sword guys shoot at same time and both die, need to be fixed with sword battle,especially with grifball and custom games

please fix the quit probation warning. It keeps on popping up for no -Yoinking!- reason, even during a -Yoinking!- game. Like what -Yoinking!- gives???

Also, fix bloom and balance armour lock (or simply remove it without the use of a TU)

buff the FR (or the assist rifle)

buff the -Yoink- repeater (or the useless piece of -Yoink- as I call it)

fix -Yoinking!- infection

1) Sangheili Loving
One of my biggest requests for Reach would be that it provides more scope for Elite players, like myself. I would love to see them implemented into more gametypes. Also, how about when you chose a preferred species, it doesn’t just increase your odds of being that race, but you’re actually that species whenever you enter a gametype where it’s possible to be either an Elite or Spartan. It’s okay for those who prefer to play as Spartans, because they have a plethora of gametypes in which they can be their preferred race. Invasion, and Elite Slayer, are the only gametypes in which Elite players are guaranteed to be one, with the former still asking that you endure a round of being a Spartan as well. The other offering (Invasion Slayer) provides a chance to be the Covenant warriors. How about it works so that the game matches up people who prefer Elites, with people who prefer Spartans, so that you’re always who you want to be. For Invasion, the only thing that would change, come the next round, is which team is defending and who is attacking (no species swapping). Oh, and I am in agreement with those who say Covenant weaponry, in general, needs to be buffed.

General question for anyone: What happened to the Spartan Vs Elites gametype?

2) Green Vs Purple
I much preferred the green/purple team colours from the beta version of Invasion. Bringing those back would be very welcome. If you would stretch so far, perhaps you can scrap the colours altogether because, as others have suggested, it’s an Elite vs Spartan gametype. There’s absolutely no confusion about who’s on whose side.

3) Customization
If possible, new armour for Spartans and Elites would be nice. Greater colour variety would also be pretty cool.

4) Forge
It would be brilliant if you could add more options in Forge, such as colours and textures, to allow for more creativity; and to stop Forge Maps looking the same.

5) Classic Survival
It would be great if you could capture the essence of what made ODSTs FF so great. It seems Reach has lost that certain air about the mode. People play more for credits, and not for the challenge of working as a team to survive. This thread (http://halo.xbox.com/forums/games/f/7/t/11713.aspx) notes some of the issues, and I wonder if you could use the next update to make some alterations (or add options) to provide players with an experience more closer to ODSTs.

Love these ideas, too:

Allow for the special abilities like back flip and barrel roll use the Banshee’s stamina bar to eliminate the ability to constantly roll. Reduce the amount of damage that the Sniper rifle does to vehicles as well. Its a Infantry rifle not a anti-everything rifle.

Fuel Rod Gun should take 2 hits to kill players with full shields. Magnum’s RoF should be increased back to Beta status. Spiker and Plasma Rifle should kill faster. Sniper and DMR should do less damage to vehicles. Needle Rifle should do damage to vehicles as well. Turrets should be more accurate. Plasma Pistol should have a 2x scope so Elites aren’t totally screwed in the beginning of Invasion Slayer. Tweak bloom to reward pacing and discourage spamming. To comensate, make DMR RoF slightly faster so it’s not a slower kill time than the Halo 3 BR. And lastly, rebalance melee mechanics.

I haven’t read all the posts in this forum, so my apologies for any redundancies…While I’m a HUGE fan of everything multiplayer in Halo, I think an alternate campaign ending is what I’m hoping for the most. One in which Noble Six LIVES! Saved at the last minute by GST Buck and his Helljumpers, for example (the escape could also be the first level in the next Noble Six themed game). This is made possible by the fact that the majority of the Covenant fleet is in pursuit of The Pillar Of Autumn at that moment, thus no longer in Reach orbit.
The possibilities for post Reach canon are numerous, i.e. during the events of Halo 1 thru 3. After the rescue of Noble Six, ONI operatives “slip” him in behind enemy lines to rendezvous with the Spartan Grey Team (novel: The Cole Protocol). From there they embark on an epic series of missions in an ONI Stealth Prowler. Taking them from planet to planet, installation to installation, razing high value enemy targets (Head Hunter Style?), overcoming impossible odds etc. ONI may even realize Six’s true (Hyper Lethal) worth and outfit him with his own A.I. and or armor upgrades. Then, after the events of Halo 3, they still have to deal with the remaining contingent of Brutes, Jackals, Grunts, Hunters, Minor Prophets and the fleets & bases still under their command. Not to mention existing threats posed by Forunner Tech and or The Flood.
