So this weeks bulletin previewed the trailer for the upcoming Crimson Map Pack that releases December 10th, 2012. It will be featuring Wreckage, Harvest, and Shatter.
From what we have seem from the trailer, are you excited about it? What are your thoughts on it?
For me I’m not really excited. The maps seem a bit bland for some reason. It’s just that the environment for each map all look alike really. In previous games the maps were unique from each other and the environment was unique as well (Rat’s Nest, Ghost Town, Stand Off, etc). I just don’t find these maps to be exciting. The Halo Reach map packs, those were great, this not so much. Harvest seems cool, because it’s freaking Harvest. I guess I can’t really judge until I play it.
Also, will the War Games Map Pack be available by then? I will be getting mine at Christmas and I don’t want to miss out on it by then.
I’m excited for it. I am tired of playing the same 4 maps over and over again. I just hope they make it a playlist and not mix it in with the other maps they way they did with reach. Other wise, it might be once in a blue moon when I see them then Ragnarok or haven would win the vote probably.
I like Wreckage. But that’s pretty much it. I want a futurisitc city map or a volcanic map. Like a remake of turf.
A dark map with a storm going on would also be nice. One thing I like just as much as performance is aesthetics. I’d really love to see a level that shows off the particle effects and lighting.
> I might like them, might not. I believe we should all wait for an overview map/walkthrough of them, before we start crying.

I have played over 30+ large maps in the halo franchise and over 100 in forge. I know what a big play is and how it plays, unless you have never played on a big map before then you can’t judge but most people here know what a big play plays like and don’t want to deal with a map like that on every playlist.
I think they wasted their time, honestly. I was more than ready to fork over money for some new maps but these just look as terrible as the default maps. You can tell they made these at the same time as all the other maps which in turn makes me lose even more respect for 343. They give us a game with hardly any maps to begin with, and then charge us for a few more maps a month after release.
But more importantly these maps just look boring. All big team maps, nothing competitive or intense. 343 is completely and utterly out of touch in what its fanbase wants.

Wow. So even the map labeled small, and the medium one for Regicide in the spliced trailer can’t fool you.
Considering I have seen a Warthog on all of the maps in the trailer, they may just be big team maps. I to hope they don’t mix the maps into Big Team. If that happens, they will be ignored while everyone votes Ragnarock over and over.
Well, I wanted an excuse to try out out the objective based modes, this will do it as the maps will no doubt cater to them more then the usual slayer games modes I stick too
have to try them out before really being able to make a judgement on them
It’s actually the first Halo map pack I’m not beyond super stoked for. I’m not exaggerating. I was more interested in the garbage that was Ghost Town than these
I am happy for new maps but a little bummed that only 1 of the maps seems to be on a level for 4v4. At the same time I understand that most people play the larger game modes.
