YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE aNNIVERSARY Ce

before your thoughts, here are my thoughts:

Awesome. Loving the campaign again, loving the new maps. However, there’s a big gap! Why is there only 6 of the classic maps?? Also, why is there the Headlong map? I was under the impression this was a Halo 1 anniversary! I would have liked to see Longest, Chill Out, Chiron, Blood Gulch(is blood gulch in there?) and Boarding Action. All of these maps aren’t there!! That’s a HUGE gap, i was very disappointed. it makes it seem more of a halo 1 campaign and another map pack – which is what it is, but i guess I would have just loved to see ALL of the CE on this anniversary disc INCLUDING the Halo 1 multiplayer!! i thought i was going to be able to system link with my friends again and play all the old maps halo 1 style. i guess i should have done more research.

i don’t regret buying it because I love it, but there’s just a huge gap that I often get frustrated about when i’m playing it. I really want the rest of the maps! think about it, Chill Out on the Doubles playlist!! that would be SICK!

What do you guys think???

Better than the original.

I think your thoughts are about the CEA Multiplayer are weird and you’ve mentioned things that have already been adressed but I think I shall address them again for your sake.

1.) Halo 3 Maps or Halo 3 Map Remakes do not need to be remade on Halo: Reach because both games are on the Xbox 360 and you can switch between the two anytime. Chill Out has a Halo 3 Remake called Cold Storage so this is unecessary.

2.) We do not need a Blood Gulch Remake. We have one called Hemorrhage. This is the time when people need to start thinking about geography correctly. Hemorrhage uses the same map layout as Coagulation and uses the same Base Foundations as Blood Gulch. It doesn’t need to be re-made

3.) Maps such as Chiron and Boarding Action were fun back then but think about it. All the Anniversary Maps have Reach counterparts that are suited for Reach’s Gameplay. How will Armour Abilities, New Weapons and adjusted Gameplay Mechanics suit these maps? They won’t. Frank O Connor had mentioned that this would be ridiculous.

4.) 343 Industries used Halo: Reach’s Multiplayer so as to not split the Player Fan Base up further and risking the liquidisation of their possible audiences. Halo 4 needs to have its audiences prepared and hyped for it to be successful. Going through the trouble of perfectly remaking the Halo: CE Multiplayer would be a developers death-wish.

OT: As for my opinion on Combat Evolved Anniversary. The Multiplayer Maps are average but I have a dislike for the Anniversary Playlist and the fanatical nature of the Magnum Wielders and the adjusted Gameplay Mechanics. The Campaign is still amazing and glicthy as ever but that’s because we got some nice new fan-service for the Campaign. It hasn’t enticed me as much as it did 10 Years ago but that was because it was my first time then. CEA feels like a refreshed memory rather then a bold and fantastic new one.

Well, 343 was very clear that the multiplayer would be an add-on to Halo Reach multiplayer, rather than a true remake of the original. They covered it in several Halo Bulletins, as well as on the 343 Sparkast, and all press coverage regarding the game. I understand that you might have preferred a faithful recreation of the original multiplayer, but you shouldn’t be surprised… these facts have been publicized quite a bit.

Regarding the rest of the game, I am really enjoying it. If you’re interested, I posted a detailed review of the campaign on my website here.

It don’t have the original multiplayer even though 343 explained multiple times why it isn’t there.

Ruined Forever.

IN response to #1.

Why would it be unnecessary if there is a Halo 3 remake?? what if i want to play ALL of the halo 1 maps on one Reach playlist. Why do you think that is weird?

Online Co-op made me sad face.

> Online Co-op made me sad face.

Why? I played some online Co-op yesterday, i thought it was pretty good.

> Better than the original.

Yes - to some degree. I think I flicked the button 25 times during the campaign, and where some area’s in the original was meant to be gloomy 343 has put enough lighting to blind a bat.

Other than that, really good, but playing through original seems a lot more challenging in my opinion.

Best thing I ever bought that was just $40 (video-game related)

They should have remade the campaign on an upgraded engine. Uber-repetitive level design and glitches do not make for a good game.

I’m four levels in and found the first four terminals, and I’m absolutely loving it! Can’t wait to finish up with the game (and meet up with the Flood)! So far, i think the terminals may just be my favorite addition. Absolutely loving them so far. Didn’t find any Skulls yet.

Also, I can’t wait to try the seven new maps (Installation 04 in particular). But I won’t touch multiplayer until after I beat campaign.

I’ve really been enjoying it. The terminals have proven to be amazing! The graphics are great, and I’m loving the new weapon sound effects. The sound mixing is a bit off…the AR is too loud comparatively, and for whatever reason the classic music is way to quiet in many cases. I’m just glad they gave us the option to retain classic music. Don’t get me wrong, the remastered music is great in the majority of the game, however; there are a few cases where they went way off the reservation and the result was vastly inferior to the original. An example of this is “Under Cover of Night”. As a musician myself I understand the desire to tamper but in pretty much every case where they went off script with the music is was inferior, imo. Conversely, where they stuck more closely to the original music it sounded great.

There are other things I could nitpick, but overall I’m thoroughly enjoying this remake and am very thankful for it. Bring on the Halo 2 remake!

CEA = WIN
