Your Thoughts on Community Tournaments

I just wanted to know if anyone from the community would be interested in community-run, online tournaments. I’ve already made a poll for this, so if you would be kind enough to vote whether you support the notion or not that would be great.

Please do not turn this into a debate over the settings, because I am only going to do this if the community has interest, and I will deal with settings at a later time. As of right now, the tournaments would either be FFA or Double Team. FFA would allow the most players to play and wouldn’t require collaboration on behalf of a team, but Double Team could provide more teamwork and map control while only requiring collaboration between two people. Let me know which you would prefer (FFA or Double Team) and also include what you think would be the best time and day of the week to hold these.

Remember, these tournaments don’t have to be strictly try-hard. You could go in and just screw around with some friends, the concept is purely for fun and to help bring together the “casual” and “competitive” gamers.

If you’re having a tournament then that can only apply to America. So how would you organise tournaments in foreign locations (which have less numbers willing to participate)?

Online tournaments, haha. Probably should have made that clearer. If any foreign players want to hold their own just to compensate for time differences than be my guest! Anyone can apply to join though, you might have to go to bed a wee bit late though… and most likely suffer from poor host, but its all for fun.

Sounds like fun, pinning me down on specific times is always tough, but if you throw it, I will attempt to show up =)

Surprisingly I don’t run into this problem very often.
