If a team loses a match, they shouldn’t receive anything. No XP, no Spartan Points, nothing. It make sense, doesn’t it? Losers aren’t supposed to win anything. Winners should win things. Notice how the word ‘WIN’ is the base word of ‘WINNER’. ‘WIN’ is not the base word of ‘LOSER’.
It should be this way for all playlists, ranked (when they come), and other playlists. Sure, playlists that don’t have tight skill pairing may not have even play for everyone, but it always adds the incentive to play good from both sides.
Think of this like Halo 3. In Halo 3, if you lost, you never got any EXP. If you won, you got a point or you ranked up in Ranked.
I think this would really put the TEAM into TEAM gametypes. Your TEAM loses, YOU lose.
Furthermore, to discourage quitting when a team is losing, add a punishment for quitting. You lose XP or something, and it’d be doubled in Ranked.
What do you think? Should LOSERS actually LOSE in this game, or is 343i’s mentality of ‘if you had fun you won!’ better?
Hell, though, if this were implemented, you’d get a medal for participation.
P.S: You still keep things like your medals, challenges, and commendations.
I would like this, I usually play to win and have fun, I could care less about my K/D, only in Slayer games when it’s actually relevant to winning. Also this might encourage people to plug in their mics and talk to each other and coordinate their attacks.

That sounds like the worst idea I have ever heard so basically because my team is doing terrible I should be punished? WTF!
> No because pepple that dont sit on the game 24/7 wouldnt unlock anything, niether would they continue to play

> Next stupid idea plz…
Not that it’s a terrible idea in terms of making the game competitive, however, the thing competitive players fail to realize is they are not the majority. Most of a given gaming companies income is NOT coming from them. If 343 were to institute this it would scare off far more players than it would attract due to this fact.
If they were to implement it however and try to keep a playerbase they would need to leave spartan ops so those who were non-competitives could still progress.
Honestly though, from a business perspective OP’s idea is terrible so it’s never going to happen. Sorry to burst your bubble OP.
There is plenty of room for viable compromise. Break the points up into categories, such as completion, performance, and victory, et cetera. Completion should be weighted least. If true skill works, then everyone’s chances of earning the other two should be fair as well.
> So, even if I get 20+ kills and my team loses, I should be punished for my teammates lack of ability?
Hopefully, if the skill matching is as good as it was in H2 and H3 when ranked hits H4, you won’t need to worry about it. Full parties are always optimal but if 343i does it right, they won’t be needed. In Social, it is merely an incentive to win which encourages best gameplay. Without incentive to win, where’s the encouragement to play as good as you can?
ThatRandomGuy42: You’re supposed to advance by getting better, and not being rewarded for being a bad player.
A little extreme to me. but IMO I feel as though the experience system is very grateful. maybe knock the experience down for the less skillful or novice players
