Your REQ 5 weapon of choice

I find REQ level 5 difficult to pick and choose from as REQ 4 has things like the Whiplash, Scourge of Fire and Blaze of Glory and when I hit 5 I’m tempted to wait til level 6 to grab a Jorges Chaingun, Answer, Gauss turret, Sniper or a better vehicle WITH Wheelman.

Lately I’ve been attempting to select more level 5 and so far my go to have been:

Incineration cannon - awesome for clearing out armory and… well… Everything.

Whitescar - if you haven’t figured out this things value for base and core offense/defense then find out ASAP.

Arclight - I’ll usually wait for it and skip the Whiplash 8 times out of 10.

ONI turret - hard to grab rather than waiting for Jorges but still a beast in capable hands.

End Game - great for quickly discouraging early banshee use.

I rarely use base Banshee but if my team is solid or winning, or if we are desperate (but still have a chance) I’ll grab one quick over waiting for the Sword variant.

Anti-Air Wraith - in hands like mine or others who respect and know how to use it, it is an anti-everything Wraith :slight_smile: !

Finally, I used to use Appetite for Destruction (and regular SAW for that matter) quite a bit and I have known (yet always forget) just how lethal a REQ the Whispered Truth is. I need to pick it more.

What are your level 5 REQs of choice people? Do you have them or just wait until REQ 6?

When I play warzone I don’t spawn anything in. AR and Pistol only. Only reqs I use are ones I take off the masses of dead bodies in front of me

I rarely call anything in other than a few vehicles or snipers. Endgame is the only req you listed that I would “regularly” use. Even then it’s a rare occasion

But if not- I can always go with the tank…

AD vic, Arclight, Random 5, and Endgame

Note: I typically play Assault and not regular Warzone.

  • Ad Vic: Absolute monster in the core room - Endgame: Great for Spartans and vehicles. - SPNKr EM: 4 rockets cocked, locked, and ready to rock? Sign me up. (Air AND ground lock-on) - Arclight: While I tend to forget about it, every time I call it in it seems to do very well.I’m similar to OP, I’ll usually call in a level 4 REQ (Whiplash, Blood of Suban, Ultra Ghost) then wait til level 6 to call in a Scorpion to assault/defend the core (still gridning for -yoink-ing Achilles).

Nothing against the REQ 5 weapons but I tend to go for vehicles like Banshees, Wasps, and my favorite, Wraiths. But if we’re sticking with weapons then I like to try my luck with the Random REQ card. Usually gives you something that’s 6+, so it’s a win win.

For me it depends which map I’m playing on and how the flow of the game is going but one weapon I would suggest if you are defending the Temple on WZ assault would be the Typhoon. The attacking team usually spawns downhill in the canyon with tons of open spacing not giving much cover for an advance on the Temple leaving them in a “dead zone” for quite a bit of a time. It locks on to multiple Spartans, fires quick, and reloads quick and in my opinion is one of the most underrated Reqs in Halo 5.

Arclight. Admittedly slow to handle, but absolutely devastating against players and vehicles. Close second would be the ONI Chaingun for that sweet Rambo vibe.

I think my most used REQ is the Banshee.
