Your reaction to the Halo 4 ending?

What was your reaction to the Halo 4 ending and why?

I felt pretty sad that Master Chief lost his only companion in the fight against the Didact. I admit it, I almost cried.

Confused as to how mc got away from the nuke that was right in front of him.

Cortana used the hardlight bridge to protect him from the nuclear blast and sacrificed herself to save Master Chief.

Confused why MC finally removed his armor.

> Confused as to how mc got away from the nuke that was right in front of him.

Same…

Also, how Cortana was able to come out of the light bridge and make physical contact with the Didact…

Was kinda sad about Chief losing his AI.

> Cortana used the hardlight bridge to protect him from the nuclear blast and sacrificed herself to save Master Chief.

So all the bridges survived the nuke?

> Confused why MC finally removed his armor.

He’s been in that armor without being able to take a shower, dump, pee, or eat in years. Perhaps some of that happens off-screen, but still.

That armor has been scarred from battle, it needs to get repaired. Or perhaps the Master Chief will get a new suit.

I was Sad! But at the same time I felt something I can’t explain , it was a great ending , but losing cortana was a hard moment, I don’t want to have Palmer talking on Halo 5 instead of cortana!

Maybe Rooster teeth will lend us Church- Epsilon for MC’s new AI. Or a fragment of Cortana, but seeing as Halsely is still alive, who knows…

It made me feel.

I understand that but he was literally on top of that thing. He didn’t teleport anywhere, so since he was wrapped in hard light wouldn’t the nuke follow?

When I saw the ending it was pretty sad because all those years Master Chief became friends with Cortana, his only friend. When Cortana says that “I’m not coming with you this time” was a huge shock, all those years having the only friend you can trust more than anybody else dies off to save you. The ending felt like the end of the Halo series for me I’m a Halo fan ever since I was ten. I was little when I started playing Halo from Combat Evolved all the way to Halo 4 and if they make more Halo sequels without her things won’t be the same anymore with your friend telling WTF to do. P.S. I really don’t think that it’ll take more than 2 years to make a sequel to Halo or they might make a remake to Halo 2 for more money for production.

This is a 3 month old post. Lol just make a new one next time.

I’m pretty sure there was a delay after he armed the nuke.

3 month old thread, but hey what the hell. I loved the end cut scene, the awe and respect all the USNC had for the Chief was well done. Even Palmer stood at attention and was at lost for words which is nearly impossible. With all 343i had on their plate in making of this game I thought overall they did well with the campaign and I am looking forward to talking about H5 with you guys on the Next Gen.

Hated it.

After I finished watching the cinematic’s , I payed attention to the comments on youtube. People were saying “It made me cry”. At first I thought I was sad. I was stressed. But then I realized it was not sadness I felt, it was anger. I was furious at how they could possibly screw up Halo’s story as badly as they did with that ending.

Didact rips off Darth Vader (how original)

Boss killed in quick time event

MC can somehow hold onto a cliff with 4 fingers, his Armour weighing about a 1000 pounds, not to mention the immense gravity pulling him down. Seriously he could barely move across the floor. How could he possibly pull himself up?

MC’s promise to Johnson (never let her go) - broken, especially since that was a huge part of Halo 3 and we know that MC keeps promises.

Cortana pulls abilities out of the left field - How come she didn’t attack spark in the ending of Halo 3?

Cortana died. Seriously how could you kill off the character whose name was the first word EVER spoken in the series. “CORTANA, all I need to know is did we lose them?”

Legendary ending was one second long

MC survived a nuke. Ok he is a hero and all, and I know “oh the hardlight saved him”, but can hardlight really protect against radioactive materials? Seriously its just energy. Halo used to stick with SOME realism but now its just gone out the window completely.

I could go on but those are the main problems with the ending

I actually felt a strong sadness. Sorta like when liberty prime gets hit by the orbital missile strike in Fallout 3.

All i felt was confused. I also thought the ending with cortana being hardlight and touching chief seemed way too fan fictiony.
