Hey everyone.
I’m sure this is something we’ve all thought about ever since playing through the Halo games.
But what if you could help design your own Halo game, the story, weapons, characters.
What would your Halo be like?
Hey everyone.

My Halo would be another ODST game set just after Earth has gone dark in Halo 5: Guardian’s ending.
The opening level starts with you and part of your ODST squad in the weapons deck on the UNSC Sunrise. The Sunrise shudders several times, eventually going dark and emergency lights flash on and off with an alarm blaring. The Sunrise’s captain, Captain Alexander Dawson, announces over the ships intercom that the Sunrise has lost power to the engines and is caught in the Earth’s gravitational pull. He orders all personnel to the escape pods. As your team put on their helmets and race to the lifts, you radio the other members of your squad to meet them at the drop pods. As you and your team sprint down various corridors, parts of the ship are being torn away as the Sunrise plummets to the Earth, with marines being sucked out into the atmosphere before the squads very eyes. Your team make it to the lift, and hold the doors open for a couple of marines. Unfortunately, a hole gets torn in the hull and you watch as one of the marines grabs the other in an attempt to stop being sucked out into the atmosphere. One of your squad starts to move foward but is too late as both marines zoom out of the hole. You hit the button, the elevator doors close, and the lift rapidly descends to the lowest deck where the drop pods are located. You meet up with the rest of your squad and tell them that they are going to drop in thirty seconds. You and your squad climb into your pods and close the hatches. As the pods move over to the drop point, part of the Sunrise’s structure slams into the pod next you, damaging it extensively and prematurely forcing it to drop. You order your squad to manually override the drop countdown and to just drop. As your pod drops you gaze upon the Earth’s horizon and you see that the Sunrise isn’t the only ship to plumment but the Sunset, Andromeda, and a few others are also falling in a fireball towards the planet below with pelican dropships, drop pods, and longsword, shortsword, and broadsword fighters escaping from the hanger bays.
As the screen fades to white, lots of radio chatter can be heard with various voices overlapping one another, and then the letters O.D.S.T. fade onto screen followed by the number 2. Then everything fades to black.

… I just pictured the whole thing in my head and it sounds awesome!
How would the game play? How would it feel?

The game would play very similar to the first O.D.S.T game (health bar, silenced weapons, you waking up in a crashed drop pod, etc) but with some elements from Halo 5: Guardians (being able to order your squad to do things). The first mission, as described above, would be fast paced as a lot is happening, but afterwards as the squad make their way to the wreckage of the Sunrise (having to fight off carnivorous animals) the game takes a more sombre pace as you try to find the Captain and learn of grizzly fates of some of the personnel.

Silenced weapons that actually work eh? Ha!
I really like the sound of this.
My own idea was O.D.S.T based, but set roughly between Halo 4 and 5.
I want a game dedicated to what happened to Johnson in Halo 1 as soon as Chief stopped watching the footage where him and his squad get ambushed by the flood.

That could be cool, more likely be a little spin-off game like O.D.S.T was.

Yeah and the plot twist is that he uses the elite from the Halo 1 legendary ending as a shield from the explosion then rode his body all the way to the blockade

That would be pretty funny
I personally had two ideas for a Halo game. Both being ODST related.
One idea never really got very far, it was basically the Halo trilogy (maybe even starting on Reach) condensed through the eyes of a Marine and the Master Chief would be an invincible NPC.
The other was the ODST game that used the HUB system like in Halo 3: ODST set sometime between Halo 4 and Halo 5. I had ideas of multiple HUB areas and you have different missions in each area as the game progresses. Also had some ideas that weren’t very “Halo”
The covenant attack a planet looking for Something about the forerunners or the Didact and you and your team are sent down to stop them.
You fail and you’re captured.
You and one other from your squad escape with no armor or weapons, and you can gather other captured marines and army soldiers then get the hell out of there.
Most of it I had in “early” game was trying to defend a small outpost/make-shift base against the covenant with police forces being involved and protecting civilians (not actively protecting them mind you).
I dunno, seems kinda silly now.
And Chief would beat the crap outta you if you, a lowly marine, attacked him, like that Halo 1 bit where cortana orders troops to kill you if you kill someone in the Bridge

Hah, that’d be funny. But yeah. Obviously you would always be with him, but you’d see him on the ship, on Halo, escape with Johnson. The first battle on Earth, the second Halo, Earth again. then Halo 3.
I think it’d be kinda cool maybe, be a long game most likely, but I think people would like that. Maybe you’d advance, starting as a Marine, then becoming an ODST.

Go through the ranks, that’d be sweet. You’d be like Saitama from one punch man. You are a hero to many but no one knows of your accomplishments because chief is so popular
I think a survival horror sort of game with the flood would be amazing sort of like dead space but first person

Maybe not even that, really have it feel like ODST in a sense that, you’re not a hero, you’re a simple soldier, a cog in the machine, you may do some things which -Yoink!- in finishing the mission but your still just a soldier.
I also would’ve had NPC marines have regenerating health so they could stick around longer.

Would work very well with good weather affects. A rainy night, you see a humanoid figure in the distance, and its walking closer to you, only to realise the closer it gets the less human it really is.
Gives me shivers man.

That’s sounds awesome i think it would be scary aswell on a deserted ship like dead space that would just creep me out so much with the flood
My Halo would be in the H4 timeline when we are introduced to the SPARTAN-IVs (my favs)
I would like to see a squad of 5 Spartan IVs get stranded on Reqium before it blows up. They get stranded on the desert, fight off covenant, and scavenge promethean and covenant weapons. They would reach the Infinity before Reqium is destroyed. What are you thoughts on this?

How long would the game be, could you see it being a full size game or a side game like ODST?
