Currently I’m interested if other Halo-fans may have the same opinion regarding exclusive contents in Halo.
On a side note…I don’t want that this kind of thread will turn out into some kind of ‘bash-thread’, please.
To be honest…I don’t like the idea and the concept of having anything exclusive in exchange for money or just pre-order bonus. In Halo 4 there were several pre-order contents like the Deadeye-, Locus- or Scanner-helmet and the Fotus-DLC of course.
The Deadeye and so on is available due to the GotY of Halo 4, however,the way of obtaining those armor sets didn’t change after all.
Everyone is able to use a simple DLC-code, but how many have the motivation to unlock game-content due to ‘hard work’?
It’s my belief that everyone should run a chance to obtain those things while playing Halo.
Don’t you think it’s a great achievement-motivation to be rewarded for your own skill?
In the end the one and only difference that should matter isn’t a helmet or an armor and so on, but your individual abilities.
Therefore, it’s redundant to individualise Halo 4 with exclusive DLC’s.
So what do you think about it?
I agree with you on some parts, however, where would be the fun in pre-ordering the game? Most game companies usually give the person something special when they pre-order a game. It’s their way of saying “Thank you”, well…sort of. In addition, these requirements are what make the armor special and rare, except the Locus and Scanner helmets which can be easily obtained.
But for example the Commando and Protector-armor is also special without being exclusive to pre-orders.
It’s hard to achieve those armors, therefore, I will always treasure them more than DLC’s.

Your right about that. Those armor sets take a lot to achieve, they are worth more than DLC armor(skill-wise) and they are more rare. I just dislike the fact how a very small number of people use save editor programs to “cheat” these armor sets. If I had the Commando armor I would probably treasure it more than my FOTUS armor. I’m just saying that the armor is fun to own and wear until the owner gets bored of it. I also think that the Console Bundle bonuses like the FOTUS armor weren’t really worth the money, but once again, the armor is still rare and that is what makes it special in my opinion.
Hm…shouldn’t everyone have a chance to achieve the Fotus armor? Those hackers just don’t have any other choice. The way of doing it is wrong, sure, but as long as they don’t influence the gameplay, I couldn’t care less.
I think, we all share the same passion, so it should be all right for everyone to unlock the whole game-content by playing good and fair.
