Most of them are insignificant. You rarely ever see someone slide, groundpound, or spartan charge. Even if you wanted to argue that they’re bad, their impact on the game is so small that it’s no real loss.
If you want to throw new players a bone without making the game worse, then they’re okay.
The only ones I consider problematic are sprint, thruster, and clamber.
For the most part they’re good, but some seem redundant. I love clamber, but sliding and ground pound aren’t something I can see myself using as part of skilful gameplay. Perhaps Ill get used to it.
I love assassinations but the use of them can be suicidal, and on top of it all since their introduction the amount of people forgetting halo is a SHOOTER is astounding. With that said, I think ground pound will be another element of frustration. Once new players swamp the game I will begin losing simply on the basis my team mates found another reason not to learn how to shoot.
on that question i’d like an “whatever” option, most those abilities with excepition of clamber will rarely be warmful to someone just for unoticed player will be kinda like assasinate someone.
I would say good, they open up new opportunities and an abundance of new ways to traverse the maps and get yourself into great positions for control of the map.
I like seeing some. Your a freaking Super Soldier Tank, you should be able to run, clamber, slide down and then take aim at your foes and put the bullet in em. Thrusters? Bleh. In Halo 4, they felt so unreliable and I never preferred using them. Now that they are in 5…well, I just hope I can get used to them.

My thoughts exactly. I would find thruster more interesting if sprint and clamber were not in the game.
I haven’t played the beta and won’t be able to give a detailed opinion of the matter until I play the final game this October, but from what I have seen (and heard from friends) makes me think that they are a very cool addition to the sandbox. Unlike Halo 4 and Reach, Halo 5 can integrate these abilities into the level design of the maps making them a natural augmentation to Halo 5’s gameplay flow. Can’t wait to try them out!
Is there any reason why you should GP to lose your high ground? My guess be not many reasons. Is GP that effective, I’d say no again, what’s stopping someone from giving a good thrust
You’d give to be pretty subpar at awareness to get hit as a Spartan. Maybe in a slow moving tank, but that’s another mistake to be that close to someone above you.
