I have a lot of ideas and I think many are unpopular ooinions:
MAPS
-Maps have much higher invisible ceilings so you can retreat into the sky with your banshee etc.
-make multiplayer maps less restrictive with out-of-bounds areas.
-Copy H2 which had maps with destructible environments and objects that could be manipulated to fortify your home base, e.g. using wraiths to move storage crates to block back an entrance to armory or shooting stalactites in the ice cave map to block the front entrance.
-destructible bases and walls that can be destroyed via repeated tank bombardment. Also no more static, immovable, and indestructible car/objects scattered on multiplayer maps; instead allow player to push objects around or destroy them and drive over cars with tanks.
CAMPAIGN
-Night levels with night vision or infrared visor.
-Humans are always “Reclaimers” but all Forerunners/Prometheans always attack on site. Would be cool if you could work with Prometheans for a change.
-Have Chief acquire Forerunner Combat Skin at some point in campaign to unlock new abilities. Would be cool if you could use Promethean translocate ability.
-Tone down how emotional Cortana is always getting around Chief.
ABILITIES
-more spartan abilities including wall jump, and higher thrust-jump
-return of upgrades/H5 armor mods (aka H4 support upgrades) and H4 armor abilities. Use Crysis system so you can switch between four of them at once on D-pad: Promethean Vision; Hardlight Shield, Jet Pack, Active Camo. I realize this might make TTK’s insanely high but I want to see it.
-gameplay quirks and abilities; Gandhi-hopping; jump-thrust-stabilize; spring-jumping; redirecting momentum on man-cannons; bouncing after man-cannon landing; crouching for extra grapple and jump height; thrust-slide-jumping vs. slide-jump-thrusting, animation canceling for quick reloading, etc. All the little physics and mechanics exploits are very interesting, and I hope there are more to exploit in next game.
WARZONE
-ability to upgrade base or armory over time by spending req. energy and remotely control base offensive weaponry, such as designating a spot for a rocket bombardment.
-Weather effects in campaign and Warzone.
-Return to HCE implementation of overshields where they don’t deplete over time but only when taking damage.
-Return to HCE implementation where you are 1st person as passenger on vehicles. Bring back HCE feature for multiple people to ride on tanks.
-turn sniper lens flare off for first shot, then afterwards Visor gives you a warning icon where sniper was determined to be. Tone down lens flare for hydra launcher, rail guns, spartan laser
-Req. level 9 lets you apply two armor mods
-multi: ability for all teammates to visit a terminal in home base that activates when triple-capped to input surrender option. If majority of team votes to surrender the game concludes.
-marines are slightly more dangerous with better AI. In H5 they are friendly with cute dialog, but they should act more like battle-hardened marines.
Ability to command marines to go to where you tell them, like squad mechanic in H5 campaign.
-marines get more aggressive and hate enemy team the more marine kills the enemy team kills.
-More blood and dismemberment in campaign and multi.
-better replay features. Ability to stay on one player even when they die via incineration (in H5 it auto switches you to a different player). Better forward and rewind options. H3 theatre is superior to H5.
-ability to sell multiple reqs. at once.
-I think that Warzone req. packs should not be discounted to players that have unlocked all reqs. This makes the game tough for new players and there’s no explanation that it will eventually get cheaper and easier to acquire reqs.
WEAPONS
-Bring back HCE plasma rifle effect where being shot by plasma rifle mildly stunned you and made it harder to walk and turn.
VEHICLES
- ability to use req. points to refresh/upgrade existing vehicles to improved variant. E.g. spend 4 req. points to pull Wasp and then another 4 req. points later on to repair it and get small boost to shield strength and weapon damage, or speed.
-lesser known/used vehicle abilities; banshees can fire super-fast homing shot if timed just right after flip; banshees flips can knock vehicles over and boss off map; banshees have air brake. Wraiths have glide ability. These abilities are really cool, and I hope all vehicles have them in next game.
