Your In-Game Identity

Halo has always given players control over their appearance, and Bungie once said that the additional options introduced in Halo 2 (specifically emblems) were added to give players a visual identity online.

Do you have a consistent appearance throughout each game? Or do you choose what looks best in each game?

Since Halo 2, I have used the lightning bolt emblem - was super sad to see it disappear in Halo 4 and then go in a totally different direction in Halo 5 (RNG emblems, really??).

I generally like Mark VI or EOD as my armor set.

Kirby Emblem, that and when it’s available Gungnir and EOD helmet.

In my opinion it is a service tag that defines you rather than an emblem (or a nameplate). As mentioned above me, emblems can eventually disappear but services tags will remain a thing for years to come I would imagine. I will always have Mat as my service tag because, well, that’s my name.

I usually just pick W59 for a service tag because it was issued to me by Bungie when I first started Halo 3. I have kept it through each Halo but the only difference is I added a 2 to the end because in a couple of games you needed four characters so I usually use W59 or W592. As far as an emblem goes I used to always use the grunt with a cowboy hat but now I mix it up and use something different.

I always used the hawk emblem from H2 . Black or gray armor color. H3 I didn’t play a lot of so it didn’t matter . Reach ,H4 and H5 I’ve returned to the CQB helmet but dropped the hawk emblem for the hawk name, Now with H5 I wear Gold visor Intruder trespasser armor . My favorite Spartans were from Grey team and I tried to model my armor like there’s

Consistent up until 4 and 5, I’m light blue/Cobalt/ice and always have been in 1,2,3 and reach with default/minimal armor.
Halo 4&5 I’m silver or grey with the operator helmet and small armor, specifically ‘breaker’ in h5.

i often change armors, somehow i don’t like halo5’s armors and i can’t find one that looks good to me :frowning:

My emblem will change all the time depending on what our squads feeling on that day, but my service tag will always be GO96. It’s just my initials with the year I was born, but it’s recognisable enough when you need to find me in game.

Its typically different every game, and I change it frequently in which ever game I’ve been playing a lot of, but there’s some aspects I like to use in most of my looks like the black and green color combos and usually a mark v helmet. Any time I change my color though I like having extreme contrast between my colors. The one thing I wont ever change though is my halo 5 emblem, the needle emblem with black background, purple dude, and light green crystals.

Different game to game

Prior to Halo 4, I tended to give myself white and blue coloration (501st Legion colors) or did my best to remake SPI armor that was worn by Spartan-IIIs. Now I basically go blue with a silver visor and the EVA helmet. Guess I’m Cobra Commander now lol.

I go with Scout helmet with soldier armor with white primary and red secondary.

I have always tried to keep a consistent look between games when possible. This mostly comes through with the colors (Pri: Maroon/Red Sec: Gunmetal). Though I am all red in H5 due to how the body applies color.

The other thing I always go for is the helmet, which I try to always make ODST. Reach was my first Halo and since the ODST was one of the initial unlocked ones, I wore it and have always worn it since (Even have a real one!). I wear it in 3, Reach, 4 and 5 (I have worn both Nightfall and Helljumper). I also use it when I can in MCC, but only 3 and Reach have it.

I mainly go for a “bulky” look, big chest and shoulders. I was so happy when we got Indomitable in Halo 5 since that with Helljumper was basically my Reach spartan.

My appearance was all over the place until I settled for the Reclaimer/Marathon symbol, Recon helmet, and a blue and black color scheme.

H3: Mark VI
H R: look up Sev from Rise of The Spartans
H4: Locus from Rvb
H4: Mark IV colored to look like Jerome

Really wish that they put more stuff out there.

In terms of armor, I always use the Mark VI helmet. I’d like to keep using my emblem more consistently, but it keeps getting removed. I use the Hawk emblem with the two swords behind it, and I was able to in Halo 2, 3, and ODST. Reach drops, they remove my emblem. I switch to the Sol emblem for Reach, Halo 4 drops, they remove the Sol emblem and the Hawk still hasn’t returned. MCC drops, Hawk is back and all is well. Halo 5 drops, the Hawk, YET AGAIN, has been removed, and then a little less than a later, the Sol comes out for Halo 5.

I usually go off of what looks best to me which is usually the same which is a simple but cool looking helmet, and a bulky armor, I halo 4 I really messed around with the emblems, same in reach, in halo 5 for armor I either go mark v delta helmet and noble or wrath armor with the Emile emblem.
H3: Mark v
HR: Mark v with mostly Emile body
H4: Mark VI for everything except venator torso
H5: Mark v delta with noble
All with black and blue coloration
