Your ideas for improving Warzone's scoring system

I am enjoying Warzone immensely. And while I think the scoring system is pretty good, I would make some changes, that I feel could make it even better

First, when it comes to bosses, I say it should be somewhat percentage based. For example, multiple people from both teams put damage into a boss and let’s say you personally had a tank and you put say… 50% of the damage into it on your own. Whoever gets the final kill gets whatever amount of damage percentage they put in to it, as well as a bonus for getting the kill, of say…25 points. And everyone else gets whatever percentage they earned. And in the case of yourself, having put in 50% of the damage, you may end up coming away with more points than the guy who got the final shot. Whether he’s on your team, or the other team. Doesn’t matter. You get what you earned. If the other team doesn’t like it, too bad. They should have stopped you earlier

Second, as far as capturing goes, when it comes to taking a base from the other team, I believe you should get more points than what’s being given out right now. I would break it down like this…

Lowest amount awarded, I.E. Tier One: Taking your own armory when it’s neutral

Tier Two: Taking your own armory back, after it’s been taken by the other team

Tier Three: Taking the other teams armory, or the taking the center base after the other team had it

Tier Four: Taking the center base when it’s neutral. Obviously this is a one time only occurrence that happens towards the beginning of the match. And it being the hardest fought capture you’re going to be going for, pretty much every game, with each team going full boar for it, it should score your team a generous amount of points. Equal to, or perhaps even greater than what’s awarded to someone who lucks out and puts the last shot in to some NPC boss

So what do you guys think? Am I crazy? Half crazy? Dead on? Any ideas of your own? Feedback would be appreciated

P.S. I also posted this on Reddit. Just in case someone notices that, don’t worry, I didn’t steal these ideas…well I did, but I stole them from another version of me…like the Warden

Bosses aren’t an everything or nothing ordeal where the only thing that matters is the killing bullet. You can say that you should watch where the enemy is all you want, but the fact is with the amount of scoped weapons in this game, their range, and the maps themselves, it’s just not possible to keep someone who is nowhere near the boss from cherry-picking the kill.

It’s great bosses are worth so many points, but it’s stupid as hell when this is how you determine who gets them.

Exactly. The VP from the bosses should be given out depending on how much damage you do to it. So when it goes down, the VP goes out evenly amongst things on both teams who went for it

Right now the points system its too confusing.they should have guide stating the points system…you have your teams points then your personal points but how does the personal points translate toward you team? Damage you do toward a boss should count also…too many last shot kills by other team…I would like a pop up letting you know each point you make for your team… fro example when you kill a spartan you get a pop up or visual cue stating that you made you team 10 points…also defending a base should also give points…so you would get a certain amount of points for staying in or near the base every couple of seconds or something like that…

Ahh, like in an RPG, with the damage points flashing over their heads. Not a bad idea

Plus it would be cool to get a sense of just how strong certain weapons are. Seeing what number pops up when you hit something with, say, a rocket launcher, gauss cannon, spartan laser or rail gun would be fascinating

Right

If everyone knew that the team that gets to Boss first and dedicates the most resources to taking it down, will get the points, people will frantically rush to Bosses to try and put the work in first, all the while fighting each other off, along the way

It would make the matches even more exhillirating than they already are

I tend to disagree with some of the arguments…if the points are awarded by the “amount of damage done” idea than there is virtually no way for the team that does NOT cap the middle base on each map to win. They have an uphill battle as is, but the only possible way they could secure the win is to strategically focus on those bosses and make sure they down the AI.

I just wish there was some way to get it through to teammates that you need to use your REQ cards. I haven’t won a single warzone yet because I tend to get put on teams of hoarders (apparently) that are trying to hold on to every last REQ card they receive. They’d rather just gunfight against two tanks, a wraith, a banshee, and two ghosts than use any of their REQ cards to either get themselves a power weapon or a vehicle of their own. And by that time, the game has snowballed so badly that summoning a vehicle is just going to either get it taken by the other team or destroyed within seconds. Maybe put an expiration clock on any cards over, say, 10 of one kind? At least then people will start getting used to using their points to help the team down bosses and score those huge pools of VP.

TL:DR - keep the points system as is but incentivize players to spawn their own vehicles and power weapons to make the fights on the bosses more interesting, like an expiration timer on excessive hoarders.

This, to me, sounds like EXACTLY how it should be

The team that has less bases, has a tougher time getting around the map…Yup. That’s the idea. You want to take those bases, for both the points, and for logistical reasons
