Your Ideal Halo Game

If you could take aspects of all Halo games that were great and make them into a Halo game, what would you want? This is more what I would like to see on the next gen.

I would take:

  • Halo 3’s multiplayer. I really liked their XP system and their division of ranked and social playlists. I also liked NO PERSONAL LOADOUTS. That makes me happy.

  • Halo Reach’s matchmaking system. I liked how you could vote on multiple maps or get a new set. I also liked their system for pairing people of similar skill. If I got creamed a couple games in a row, I either got really good teammates who worked well with me, or I was paired against a very low skilled team

-Halo 4’s Commendations. I think that is the coolest thing ever. Just don’t add Mongoose Destroyer, Scorpion Destroyer, Executioner (assassinate the king in Regicide for those who don’t know). Those can stay far away. I like how they unlock armor. Think that is better than a credit/monetary system were you buy it and unlocking armor through achievements. Commendations are a little bit easier than achievements but more challenging than the credit system Reach had.

-I do like some of the new game types 343 has introduced. Dominion, Regicide, Lightning Flag, Forerunner Swat and Covenant Swat. Add some of the other classic ones that are missing (assualt, 1-flag, rocket race, splockets, etc.) and that would take care of the game types for me.

-Halo’s campaigns have always been epic and I like each one equally, so just keep it up.

-Also, I like sprint being an inherit ability. Went back to Halo 3 and kept trying sprint and died a lot. lol. Don’t know how to live without it now. =P

That would be what I want to see in a Halo game. What would you guys like?

Bring back core Halo 3 mechanics and then build off from there.

Possibly split Matchmaking into Classic/Infinity.

Multiplayer Space Battles

Mammoths and Scarabs in Multiplayer.

A HUGE Forge World with multiple biomes. Mountains, plains, ocean, forests, snow, deserts.

A lot of vehicles.

UNSC- Warthog, Mongoose, Scorpion, Mantis, Mammoth, Falcon, Hornet, Pelican, Broadsword, Longsword, Sabre, ODST Drop Pod.

Covenant- Ghost, Revenant, Wraith, Banshee, Phantom, Scarab, Locust, Spirit, Spectre, Chopper, Lich, Seraph, Covenant Drop Pod.

Elites in Multiplayer.

Classic armor sets along with newer ones that can be combined and varied but still look great together. Quality over quantity.

Huge Invasion gamemode. Like massive. Enough to hold Scarabs, Mammoths, Pelicans, etc.

ODST like Firefight, but with more content and more intricant. Able to be customized.

Much more customizable Custom Games. All previous options and gametypes from all other games, plus many other new ones.

Theater mode must be brought back to its former glory, and then advanced for the new console.

Make Campaign longer with more missions. A little less linear. I trust you guys with this one.

Keep the soundtrack great! Just add the Halo theme this time.

Just make this Halo incredible, 343. You’ve got a new console with advanced, more upgraded hardware with so many capabilities and a full team this time around.

Bring Halo back. Blow us away. This is Halo’s last chance.

Agree.

Massive maps, all with server based gaming would bring Halo to an all new level.

a campaign that puts a bigger focus on vehicular combat, such as defending large bases, and large Army vs Army engagements

Much smarter and more able Marine allies, that not only draw fire away from you, but provide heavy assistance versus enemies (I.e, not be the pushovers they’ve been for 10+ years)

32 player Dominion/Slayer gametype added for Matchmaking, and every existing Halo vehicle included in the game (especially Cobra and Hornet)

Bigger reward for playing as a team rather than lone-wolfing in Team gametypes

AND NO PLASMA PISTOL OR STICKY GRENADES IN LOADOUTS!!1!

Player v Enemy

Campaign

Longer campaign in the range of twice as long as Halo 4. Huge expansive levels if not open world with multiple ways to do the misson. Stealth, all guns blazing,etc. Optional objectives, ability to carry more than two weapons (it is single player or coop no reason why I should not be able to carry more than two weapons), secrets, more terminals, collectables, xp for doing missons. Other living Forerunners besides the Ur Didact, Ancient Humanity playing a bigger role, and the return of the Flood/Precursor threat. Bullet spongey enemies are gone.

Spartan Ops

Spartan Ops now takes place on a hub world. Players branch out and do missons. For example clear this area to allow radio signals to go through. Th players have to drive to the location in a vehicle, they can get ambushed by enemies, drop in drop out system no need to match make. Home base where players can talk with NPCs. These NPC conversations replce the weekly CGI cutscenes which were expensive to make and took time away from gameplay. CGI cutscenes are now monthly but longer. Fire Fight like missions exist, vehicle based missions make an appearance like Long Night of Solace or the trench run in Midnight. Improvements from campaign like secrets, etc.

Armor Abilities

Selectable, spawn with them, reusable, present in Infinity game modes only. AAs now require battery packs meaning you can not endlessly spam them. Battery packs can be picked up from fallen enemies or dead friendlies. Amor abilities can now be picked up from dead players Armor abilities are:

Picked up on map, are fought over like power weapons. Short duration buffs. Powerups are:

High powered and tier armor abilities, reusable, replaces your AA, picked up on map, eats twice as much as energy as AAs. Armor Abliities are:

Active Camo

Jetpack

Damage Burst (allows a player to send out energy pulse damaging enemy and teammates alike)

Medic (can revive non assassinated players at a cost of no shields for either player for 5 seconds)

Other

No perk like systems, Halo 4 style rank up system but longer, hidden CSR, player card system but with Halo Reach style lobby screen. Custom game modes now a part of matchmaking. Invasion returns, 3 sides, toggleable ticket spawn system. Forerunners/Prometheans and Elites are playable. Both a server browser and match making system exist. 64 player cap for large scale gamemodes like Invasion.

Arena

No sprint, no loudouts, no AAs, small maps, higher movement speed classic Halo for a new console. All 4v4 game types are arena games, small maps designed exclusively for Arena.

Infinity

Loadouts

Primary weapon, secondary, grenade, and armor abilities are selectable. Point based system, this prevents a player from spawning with game breaking combos without removing them from loud outs like plasma grenades and pistol.

Ordnance

Personal ordnance now limited to ammo, primary and secondary weapon, battery pack for AA, grenades, and armor abilities. Heavies style game mode exists where powers weapons, power ups, and equipment exist in PO in addition to the normal things in PO.
