Last night, I was playing Halo 5 with two friends on a fireteam. In the middle of the game, I got kicked out to the main screen and the message read “Your fireteam has changed. Returning you to the lobby”. Neither of my fireteam kicked me, nor was I anywhere near a teammate to commit a betrayal. I was still in the party with them and they had stayed in the game.
This happened twice last night. Any fixes? Both of my friends icons appeared “grayed out” instead of the normal color they usually are.
Sounds like a random ban. Were you able to play with them again?
A lot of people are reporting inappropriate bans. Seems this might have happened to you.
I’m able to play with them again, but I get kicked out mid-match every time.

Im having the same problem.
My assumption is it registered your members in the party as offline for some reason or it filled your group and left one spot open in lobby on accident resulting in a full lobby+1 therefore kicking someone from the fire team to make room
I’m having the same problem. I get kicked out almost every other game and i’m losing so much CSR points. I doubt it’s a ban, it should be an issue on 343’s part.
Just happened to me right now. Had a 3 man fireteam playing slayer and then a fourth joined waiting in the menus and I had the same message.
Still happening. Two games in a row both on weekend doubles placement matches… was happening before I started playing at all and I quit the build just in case. Played 7 matches no issue then the next 2 were immediate kicks from the match.
k, I have a fix. It worked for me. Might not work for everyone. Make sure you are not apearing offline on xbox live. This works for some reason, hope this helped.
Having the same issue. Has anyone found another fix? I also got banned for poor connection for a day. But I have a wired connection pulling about 150+ Mbps so that doesn’t make any sense for the issue to be on my end.

Had this exact same problem, reset my router and cable modem with no luck tried resetting the xbox and realized that the xbox is not really restarting its just sleeping. So I hard rebooted it and it fixed it. You can hard reboot by unplugging your xbox for 10-30 seconds or you can change the startup and power options in the settings, to shutdown after powering off instead of just sleeping. Hope this helps.
Happening to me also but I’m playing alone. Been happening randomly for weeks now. Just attempted the hard reboot like Deadoblivion suggested and still no go…Sometimes I can get another type of game to work but usually I just get the infinity diamond spinning waiting on other players then booted with the “Your Fireream has Changed” why does the match making have to take so much time?
I’m trying to queue in arena now by myself, and after a bit it kicks me out and says “Your fireteam has changed” wtf?
WhyWhyWhyWhy!!! This is happening to me to!!! The message “LEFT FIRETEAM your fire team has changed-returning you to the main menu” is Literaly burnt into my screen because I can’t play a single game with my friends!! Gona try hard booting or what ever he said…y

the hard reset seems to have worked. I dont agree with the inappropriate ban for 343s mistake.
