Skyline. Halo 3 ODST.
The second half of Skyline is pretty bad–Yoink-. Totally fits ODST. But it’s still not my favorite. I think I’m gonna go through all the soundtracks and make a list.
I always loved the song that plays through the last section of The Ark from Halo 3, when you’re finishing up the camo brutes room and move on to the open platform with a view of the waterfall.
MJOLNIR Mix, the Halo 2 soundtrack overall was pretty BA.
Anything from ODST, that soundtrack was so well done, it worked the atmosphere of that game perfectly, one word = Awesome.

That is actually one of my all time favorite songs (well specifically that piece.)
Whenever I hear it is when I read a terminal. Reading the last days of two lovers from 100,000 years ago is just amazing (I can’t find a better word.) I think about the emptyness of the Ark for all those years, while their love still lives on. That piece just moves my soul.

I can’t pick one, so here are a bunch I really dig: Greatest Journey, Earth City, Reclaimer, Brothers in Arms, Finale (Coastal Highway), Skyline, Walking Away, and Winter Contingency.
Asphalt and Ablution, ODST soundtrack.
Blow Me Away, by far. I really hope they bring in some bands to do some songs again. It was a damn good move.

Greatest Journey is probably the best to drive by though.
Across all the soundtracks, I cannot pick any individual song.
This is a very difficult decision. I prefer the orchestral, choral, and instrumental music from Halo 2, and considering most of the material from Halo 3 is just remakes (with the notable exceptions of the Halo theme from Gravemind, Greatest Journey, etc.) from Halo 2 and to a lesser extent, Halo: Combat Evolved, I prefer the Halo 2 soundtrack. Some of the material from Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach stands out, but there’s nothing too significant in those soundtracks. I’d definitely say the Halo 2 soundtrack is my favorite. I certainly can’t say which song is my favorite, because I favor quite a few.
Covenant Dance
At first it just seems like some funky synthesizer based song that sorta makes it feel based in the Covenant ways.
But then you hear the Mario-Paint hardrock version… and you’re all like “It’s the Halo theme reduex?” Is the pause near the middle-end just something… so little, yet so awesome?
And then of course, we have something so beautiful, you can only hear it to believe it.
