I was curious to know what your favorite campaign mission was in Halo 5. Despite the mixed story, I personally thought there were some pretty cool missions in terms of both design and gameplay.
My favorite mission would probably have to be Swords of Sangheilios. I thought all the Sangheilios missions were absolutely beautiful, but I really happen to love Swords of Sangheilios. In terms of gameplay, I really enjoy how the environments in this level were. It seemed like almost every battle was huge and there were plenty of areas/paths to take that benefitted. And the Mantis portion was probably my favorite part. The battles really picked up with hunters everywhere, dispersal pods all over the place, wraiths, ghosts, madness everywhere all the way to get to the Arbiter. I was in love with this mission.
What is your favorite mission in Halo 5 and why?
Meridian Station, Alliance, Before the Storm

but for real they are all short and clustered
i mean they group you into 4 or 5 big rooms with tons of enemies and then its over
Blue Team was the only “halo feeling” level because it was longer and more dynamic
1. Blue Team: has a Pillar of Autumn / Cairo / Dawn feel to it … very classic Halo campaign. I want more of this in the future. I’ve replayed this mission the most. Love it.
2. Swords of Sanghelios: First time I played it, when I entered the council chambers, grabbed energy sword, charged up the stairs, heart pounding, gotta save the Arbiter … genuine immersion there. Great mission; loved the vehicle combat as well.
3. Reunion: most beautiful Halo set piece to date, Genesis is lovely. It’s a very short mission, but hearing “Olly olly oxen free” was something I really hoped would be in this campaign. I’m a big fan of the books.
The Meridian missions felt very much like the books to me and I enjoyed that quite a bit.

The Breaking- Never thought I’d hear the Halo theme while fighting Prometheans with Blue Team by my side but oh god that was amazing
Battle of Sunaion- Grunt chapel and seeing Arbiter be a basass again!
