Your favorite form of damage Indication

In other Halo titles, which version of damage indication did you prefer the most? Did you like Halo 1 and 3’s version which allowed you to see in which direction you were fired from, or Halo 2 and Reach’s where you only got the arrows pointing left and right?

I honestly prefer the former because it felt like even though I was being fired on, I knew exactly in which direction I was being fired from, and could react accordingly in the offensive or defensive. It felt more real too because if I was hit by a bullet (Coming from actual experience with teflon body armor) I could at least know where I was being fired from and could escape if needed. Even if the system could’nt tell me if I was being fired from above or below, the general direction is more important.

What say you if you were to decide which system was preferable for Halo 4?

Great thread! I rather enjoyed the Halo 3 system, but I have a headset that allows me to hear exactly where I am getting shot from so I have never really had a problem with determining where the bullets were flying from.

I agree that the Halo 3 system was better, but 343 will probably make a new one. If not the Halo 3 system should be brought back.

It seems like we will be getting a red slash in the direction of where we got shot, which I am in favor of.

You’re in a fancy set of armor, with a HUD, and Cortana made some upgrades to your software. It could be anything. Though I think SWAT’s solution is pretty straightforward - you’re dead.

Halo 3 had a very good system i don’t see why it wouldn’t return because as far as i know it was no complaints about it.
