After playing a lot more ranked than usual lately, I’ve attained a general idea of my best and worst maps in the rotations. No matter how much I practice or simply how often I play, I’ve found that I just can’t perform well on Molten and Coliseum. They’ve always been my worst maps, which I find odd for the latter because I really like Coliseum. Conversely, I routinely excel on Empire, Mercy, Truth, and Regret (a map which I just can’t stand).
So that got me to thinking about how well others do on certain maps. What maps do members of this community do the best on and what maps do they do the worst on?
I miss Fathom. I hate Mercy. Enough with these circular maps. At least with Overgrowth it felt like you had different routes you could take, I didn’t like it at first but it grew on me. Torque was god awful, as well as snow Torque… I forget the same but it was basically the same map. Kind of like Empire and Eden.

Best plaza - this map is well balanced spartan abilities work best on here especially with some of the advanced jumps
worst - white cell - has no flow areas of the map seem to go unused funnels players to where the rockets spawn and invis making for crowded play where random grenedes win . Awful awful map

I think it’s a little too small for sure. I can tell a map is to small when I spawn and don’t feel safe. I feel like I have to instantly be ready to defend myself on this map right away. It only takes like 5 seconds to sprint from one end to the other on the fastest path.
As far as playing, No idea what my best map is… My worst is most likely White cell and Orion 2.
As far as maps I like, The Rig and Coliseum.
Maps I hate, pretty much all remixed maps almost.
Honestly, Halo 5 as a whole has some of the worst looking/playing/non memorable maps of any Halo game I think. Im pretty disappointed with the maps in Halo 5. Too many maps look/feel the same. 80% are UNSC/building maps. I hope Halo 6 has a lot more variety when it comes to looks and themes of the maps.
I can’t stand fathom, is like a cheap knock of of the classic halo 2 and 3 map, but they have changed the layout so much that it has a completely different feel.
