Your account is not authorized to play Halo

Halo Infinite (Steam) gives error on sign in at main menu:
Your account is not authorized to play Halo Infinite.

  • Received invite email & steam activation code
  • Added code to Steam, installed Halo Infinite
  • Enabled Optional Diagnostic Data in Windows 10
  • Launched Halo Infinite
  • Signed in with invited Microsoft account
  • Receive error “…account is not authorized…

Same – no clue why though

Read the e-mail/message beta has not started yet and starts later today. Read the time it’s pacific time not eastern.

Even if that’s the case, in between multiplayer timeframes you can play offline against bots in weapon training mode. I have a friend in same region as me who’s able to access this. I can’t get passed the title screen, it says my account isn’t authorized.

Approx 560 threads in forums, each with dozens of users complaining about “account is not authorized” issue. 343 makes brief mention of it on their twitter but basically seem to be sweeping this one under the rug considering start -> end of beta myself and a lot of others haven’t been able to access at all.

So far my experience of Halo Infinite is “delayed for a year due to unfinished product” then “beta carrot dangle due to unfinished product”

Hopefully the “unfinished product” thing is sorted.

I’m glad that multiplayer is being released for free, then I can test the quality of the game before making a decision to purchase the campaign.
