Your 15 Minutes Of Fame

As the phrase goes if you had been called upon by 343i’s , To come to their studio and tell them how to improve Halo 4’s War Games what would you say . Your on a live news show , everyone is watching you . Your sitting there with Frankie , What would you say on how to improve Halo 4’s Online. Hardcore Halo fans and new are all sitting there at home watching you on there tv’s .You had the power to completely change the online by telling Frankie . It’s your 15 minutes of fame what would you say?

I’d play them 1,000 clips of people spamming DMRs with bottomless clip at the same time for the whole 15 minutes. Just so they can see how annoying it is.

I’d say they’re doing a good job accomplishing one of their apparent goals of not flooding the game with playlists and fragmenting the population of people who play (thus increasing queue times drastically).
Give them a pat on the back for rotational playlists, but I’d talk more about changing up their style of doing them. maybe rotate in a playlist for 2 weeks at a time, and alternate weeks when they rotate. have one be a rotating objective playlist of sorts, and one be more slayer oriented (SWAT, etc).

Then I’d talk to them and convince them for a spartan ops season 2. Like one of their developers said, as long as they’re progressing the universe (and they are), they should keep doing them. just keep going and bridge the gap in story to halo 5 (assuming there is a gap).

I’d spend the rest of my time asking for just more custom game options. The simpler ones like, disabling instant respawn, and 3 team grifball (or things like that). Not anything that really requires extra art work, because that’s unlikely (see Flood changes). Maybe ask for halo ball to be re-added to forge, especially since so many people made crazy cool things with it in reach.

Then I’d ask Frankie what he would have liked to add to the game if he had an extra 6 months (and money to go with it). Then I’d ask him on how he plans on making sure that makes it in to Halo 5.

That’d be what I would talk about.

then we’d play some halo 4.

I would rub his head and wish for Rumble Pit and BTB Objective

Hmm…

"Good day to you 343i. Let me begin by saying what a phenomenal game you guys have created. Not many people can take a juggernaut like Halo and do so well with it.

Spartan Ops is a great continuation of the Halo universe for those players who don’t enjoy multiplayer, and the campaign was nothing but brilliant.

But let’s really talk about what we’re here for. The War Games.

I for one am a fan of what Halo 4 has done with the multiplayer in Halo. Load outs and AAs feel smooth and un-jarring to game play. With that being said not everyone agrees with my opinion.

Many of your complaints and criticisms of Halo 4 stem from one simple problem. Lack of playlists. Now players like diversity, they enjoy playing games the way they want to. You’ve proven your agreement with this belief with the creation of load outs. So so why few play lists?

A classic competitive, classic social, infinity competitive and casual infinity playlist would bring many of the game’s criticisms to a screeching halt.

Competitively outside of matchmaking I believe 343i’s best interest to follow the infinity competitive playlist settings that I stated earlier. You cannot go back. 343i has chosen this path and you must pave the way with balance, and competition as your predecessors have.

As for custom games…I am ashamed by the lack of features and hope this is addressed quickly. The forgers need new environments, Theater needs more options to move their characters for machinamas and other videos.

I have one last comment to make before I leave 343i. E-sports is taking off in the Western world. Yet in the 10 some years that Halo has existed, it has always been difficult to spectate a player. A proper spectating system is needed, not only for fun, but for tournaments, for machinima, and other activities done by the community.

Congratulations on your awards, your sales and for a great game. You have a lot of work to do."

That’s probably what I’d say.

I would tell them to bring back halo and not try and get with status quo of other dev’s. Play against them using AC/BS, using the common tactic. Take them online and show them the pitfalls of JIP. Then to spops, to show them how the absence of Jeff, Medals and Scoring makes the experience lifeless. Show them how vehicles are make of glass and cardboard. Show them that forging in the new environments is a tedious task without fine tuning, the lack of custom games options making it impossible to make fun hosting. The lack of a visible CSR alienates parts of the community.

and the most important thing of all.

Show them that they were given one of the most successful franchises in the history of FPS gaming and that they dont need to put in gimmicks or flashy BS to prove that halo can evolve without losing core gameplay values.

Say, “Local Only search filter”, then walk out the room.

News presenter: “We are here with 343 industries’ Frank O’connor, and an avid Halo fan to talk about the problems that have been evident in the uproar of the Halo community. Frank has admitted there are flaws in the game, and the online player count has continued to drop.”

Pics up microphone

I would first like to say, Frank, what you and your team have accomplished, despite the flaws is an increadible game, the graphics are increadible for a very old console, the sounds are amazing, the art is fantastic, and speeded up the pace of the game. Although these have been done well, there are still many aspects of the game which are flawed. Weapon balance is a big issue, we shouldn’t be able to spawn with a shotgun in our back pocket, which is the boltshot, in fact in many cases the boltshot has outclassed the shotgun in range, this has broken the game in many areas. Another is the DMR, this completely breaks the game in almost every aspect. First of all, the range breaks BTB maps or any areas with a long view, which is pretty much on every map, which brings me to the fact the maps are all too big. Back to the DMR, not only does it have range, but at close range you are able to spam the trigger, often beating BR users. The DMR shouldn’t have bloom, it should have a strict rate of fire, but it doesn’t only allow spamming at close range, it also produces randomness in gun fights.

The BR: It’s harder to use than the other weapons and has the worst recoil, accuracy and range out of all the precision weapons, if you can even call it that. With the DMR you only have to land one bullet, with the BR you need to land three and your not even rewarded with a faster kill time, in fact the DMR always kills faster than the BR if you spam it. I feel some armour abilities could be more useful, such as the thruster pack and sentry, alot of them feel weak and useless. I also feel the grenades have too much bounce to them, it is almost impossible to land an accurate grenade now with indicators of where they are in the hud (so it’s easier to avoid) and the longer fuse times. Generaly the gameplay is just un-balanced, and should have had more time in testing.

At the moment, I’m not sure who is controlling your playlists, to be honest you should fire him because he doesn’t know what he’s doing. The objective gametypes have a low population, and it’s hard to find a game, so put all the objective gametypes in an OBJECTIVE playlist. No one wants to specifically play CTF or oddball, it’s better to round it up into one playlist. Good job finally getting a forge playlist up, but we really need one with a variety of different community maps, such as race, zombies and various other gametypes. Similar to action sack. To please the competitive community, put in a playlist with a 1-50 ranking system in it, they will love you forever. We also need team doubles and some of the old gametypes back. Get rid of regicide, and team regicide playlists, please. Regicide puts too much pressure on the top player, and I don’t even see the point of having a team regicide, it just doesn’t work.

Last but not least, the ability to turn off JIP, also a connection based matchmaking search feature.

HI MOM!!

-Remove sprint, AA’s, specializations, and ordinance.
-Increase move speed.
-Add all missing custom game options and more (for MM gametypes)
-Set flag back to old way, remove oddball auto-pickup
-Add bomb
-Visible in game ranking, akin to Halo 2’s
-Double team, MLG/Hardcore playlist
-Diversify playlists (objective in BtB, other playlists, mixed slayer bags, etc)
-Also, tone down DMR to make it equal with BR

Boom.

All of this except for highlighted I wouldn’t just straight out remove sprint I would substitute that for instant respawn sprint feels way better when you can’t insta spawn. I want AA’s at least the good ones IDK why a majority of people GO OMg did you see how { random player } used The Hardlight shield, hologram, or thruster pack to get a small upper hand on his opponent even though said opponent still had a fair chance to kill him ? And it’s loved and then someone uses camo or jetpack OFG take them all out RwaR!!! there not all freaking bad and for petes sake if anything they were the only plus in multiplayer besides camo which was originally power up( and it should be made as such) Make ordinances give you the choice of those 3 AA’s and the multiplayer will sail smoothly along with the rest of these changes. It’s so simple to fix but everyone wants to just throw everything away even when there’s a good thing.
