My xbox 360 decided it was okay to make a couple 360s on my Halo Reach Disc. Now I cannot play Campaign, Firefight, or play on Spire. I think i will wait until Halo 4 comes out or find a friend with Reach to download Reach onto my console
Does that work? Downloading Reach onto my console and just using the scratched disc?
This happened to me for Halo 3 because my ferret knocked over my xbox and I could hear it scratching. I was pissed. The download thing should work though.

> Did you move the Xbox while playing Reach? Installing the game with a working disc and launching it with the scratched disc should work.
That’ll depend on what data was scratched off the disc. The 360 will only ever install part of the game (to avoid making things easy for software pirates), so if the damaged data isn’t part of what normally gets installed, then OP will still have problems.

Really? I thought all the disc was used for was verification, which would mean that if the 360 loads the game at all (i.e. the verification was still reading valid), installing should fix the problems.
Not even bump it? In that case how will you know it won’t ruin another copy of Reach if you decide to install? Send your Xbox in for repairs if it’s still under warranty. I wouldn’t place another disc in there if it’s just going to shred it.

Campaign’s limited, Firefight’s limited, Spire’s a terrible map.
You should be happy, you’ll never be forced to play on the pile of unbalanced -blam!- in BTB that Spire truly is again.
I wonder if there’s a way to scratch my disk purposefully so I don’t have to play Spire…
That’s why I install my favorite games to the HDD. All that is required is that I insert the disc for recognition purposes. The rest of it is played off of the HDD I believe, although it still requires the disc to be in, so it isn’t like you can eject the disc even if you have installed to the HDD half way through. Probably still for recognition purposes, but I’ve never really thought about this exactly. I’ve been told that your disc doesn’t get scratched up near as much as if it wasn’t installed.

IT will. He just won’t be able to install with the same scratched disc. He’ll need to install using a clean disc that won’t fail install. Once it’s done, as long as the dashboard can verify the disc, it won’t matter how scratched it is, because it’ll load the game from the HDD.

Spire is a terrible map, unless you are assassinating other people on the map XD
As for the topic at hand: There is the chance you accidentally bumped you Xbox or moved it with the disc still inside without knowing it.
Kinda sucks for you, but with Halo 4 on the horizon and Reach nearing the end of its term, I’d honestly say you’re better off waiting a month for the epicness to surface.
