You want to know the real reason why Reach has failed to deliver?

Simple. The campaign. If the story and the sandbox with in that story sucks, then the multilayer will reflect that.

Halo 4 has one thing in it that every Halo fan hated about Reach not having.

CHIEF! CHIEF is going to save Halo, and he is a fictional character with in the game!!! Yet by his hand I am convinced he will save this franchise. That is why ODST and Reach did not deliver. No Chief. Having an branch off of the story is fine like odst. But a complete game based around stupid noble team, which by the way nobody cared about these characters, is the reason why this game failed not only it’s fans of the story, but multilayer base as well with stupid cannon, stupid weapons based on the stupid cannon. Stupid, dumb, unessential changes to the games inner workings, that broke game-play all for the most BORING story in Halo history.

Took me forever but I finally realized the multi players entire life line is based on the story. Holy GOD I hope you save us Chief because a lot of people missed you and that was good enough for them to say, screw Halo.

Hah, is that what you really think?

i only read nothing but WOORRT?!

> i only read nothing but WOORRT?!

Please say something in English. That makes no sense.

If you watched the bungie vidoc Halo odst and halo reach and wars were never supposed to happen.

I kinda agree, Im gonna love Chief being back in the Halo games.

> Hah, is that what you really think?

This is a joke right? The Chief is just a guy with a cool voice and awesome armour.

Reach failed to deliver because it strayed away from the gameplay mechanics that made Halo so successful.

A real Halo fan wouldn’t hate any game, maybe not like it but never say hate it.ODST was an add-on in a sense that Microsoft wanted to push out a new Halo game, which is exactly what 343 seems to be doing;breaking the Halo cycle. Bungie wanted to “Shake things up a bit” [MC quote]and tried to create a game you [the community] would enjoy, so blame yourself if you don’t like it. As for me i love the game, change is inevitable.

That is my point! The game failed because the way the story has made. What ever is put into the story goes straight into the multiplayer. So AA’s for example we made because it took place before CE. Meaning they were older Spartans. So they had to make the game around that more so than the multi player. So if we get a badass campaign that plays really well and not full of useless garbage…we get a better multiplayer. I think we need to be posting more into the campaign of the Halo 4 section than we have been. This would actually help out the multiplayer a lot more than we think.

theres a difference between fan and fanboy. Fanboy accept blindly everything they get because its ‘‘their’’ game, if your a fan of a game series nothing forbids you from saying what you dint like. Reach had flawed elements and many plot inconsistency`s, whats wrong with saying it?

  1. reach campaign is the best telling of any halo story, but it is far from the best halo story ever told.

  2. campaign quality reflects matchmaking performance… lol, I dont even…

The multiplayer reflects Chief’s absence only via the fact that he’s not the default design. And since you can re-create Chief, this fact can’t possibly be the problem. Now, if the franchise were named “Master Chief’s Space Adventures”, then yes, there would be a issue.

The main problems, as far as I can tell, are as follows:

  1. The campaign final product was different from what Bungie initially advertised in scope, feel, and quality.

  2. The multiplayer was changed too greatly from 2/3 to Reach, forcing an uncomfortable re-acclimation period for the more competitive players. This includes the introduction of re-usable armor abilities in standard load-outs.

Master Chief does not define a Halo game. The Flood does not define a Halo game. The universe has grown far too large by now for Bungie/343 to focus on those aspects alone. It’ll be nice to have another game with Master Chief, but I’m glad there’s Reach and ODST, too.

I have never cared about the campaign in halo more than the multiplayer.

Only offline players would play more campaign.

If you think not having Chief made the game suffer, then I honestly have to worry about your intelligence level. And hell, Chief had no more to offer than ODST and Reach’s characters, except the characters in those games had faces to speak of. And actual character.

yea… no.

the problem is simplyfying the game so the newer and bad players can have an easier time.
