You wanna know why 343 doesn't come on here?

Look at these forums and then at the Halo 4 forums and tell me which community is more decent.

WoW forums General Discussion

Black Ops 2 forum

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer forums

Battlefield 3 forums

I already know what my answer is…

You tell me which Game Dev isn’t more attacked and degraded by it’s community.

They actually do come on here though.

They just won’t respond personally to threads and questions. Bungie did that and it lead to a long line of snowballing and problems.

They do listen/read though.

I know how much Bungie interacted.

Not many replies…looks like I’ve made my point…

Well, I do agree with you.

Responding individually to all of these threads, would not be a good use of time for 343i.

Haters gonna Hate.

What problems exactly?

lulz you used Bioware forums. The MP is great but the Campaign is soo debatable

343i wouldn’t be as attacked as much if they stepped up to the plate, clearly explained what they’re doing, what they did stuff, etc. They’d gain some respect.

The community at bungie.net was a thousand times worse than this. Stop being such an over-sensitive wuss. 343 are rolling in dosh, they can take a bit of criticism (wholly deserved) for all the errors and flaws. Don’t worry your pretty widdle head, they’ll be okay

Bungie employees would be debating/trying to explain to members why they made the decisions that they did.

But as you know how the internet works, people weren’t really ever going to be convinced. They’d debate to debate, never getting anything constructive. No matter what Bungie did, they’d get hated on / have people go on with pages with them.

It was better for Bungie to not answer threads in the beginning. Read them and learn, but to start reasoning with the unreasonable at times…doesn’t work.

Internet culture was essentially the problem.

A good number of the posts I see here are completely constructive and rational. Not all of them are so blindly hateful as you claim them to be.

And B.Net, Oh, good times, gooood times…

Seems like a rather poor excuse to not interact with your fanbase…especially over problems they have with your product. I mean if they really don’t want to interact with the fans because we are too mean, shut down the forums and be done with it.

What? Where did I say that?

They do use the forums though. They read it. You just aren’t going to probably get a personal reply.

You haven’t been on these forums this whole time waiting for them, have you?

No, you’ve been on here because its fun to talk about Halo 4.

I have to disagree with you then. What you’re saying is basically it’s a bad idea because people will disagree with it. The thing is, at the very least they’re offering us reasoning and insight. Acknowledgement.

In fact, it just makes me respect Bungie even more because of it. They aren’t acting as if they’re high and mighty developers, whose word is written in stone. Too good to have a nice little chat with their consumer base.

Bungie had the guts to say what they did, why they did it. Directly. Not beating around the bush like 343 has, with this Custom Games fiasco.

Agreed.

I get more enjoyment talking about why I don’t care for Halo 4 to be honest. And the point still stands that their relationship with the fanbase is terrible. They spend too much time on sites like NeoGaf and Twitter instead of interacting with the fans here. They don’t have to respond to every thread, but they should make their presence known every now and then.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer forum =)

I visit that forum every day and yes indeed bioware devs do visit their own site. All those threads that say ‘bioware’ under them means a dev replied to it =)

Bioware isn’t afraid to answer critical questions the community has.

I don’t give a crap that 343 uses some elitist forum like neogaf. The fact they aren’t here talking with fans shows the cold separation they have with Halo players. They don’t like how mean this forum is? Well maybe they should try and fix the damn game lol

Well, I don’t know about your incentive to be here, but some of us are here to discuss things with community members, and to give 343 suggestions and whatnot. Doesn’t seem to be working too well though, considering 343 hasn’t offered us the blessing of communication.

To make sure the next Halo games aren’t bad?

Among other things.
I was actually responding to the person you quoted however. In hindsight, I probably should’ve excluded your post.

They respond more to personal concerns etc. on twitter. If you’d check the podcasts they made, and bulletins and that post BS angel made her a week ago you would know that they actually do acknowledge the problems being pointed out on the game. Heck BS Angel even said in the bulletins to keep reporting problems and leaving feedback in the forums so they know what to look out for.
