What I mean is do we really have to get this much into Halo 4? I mean, do you really
have to look at every scrap of information, watch every video and look at every screenshot
and carefully analyze everything?
I know that Halo 4 is exciting and let me tell you I can’t wait for it. But we shouldn’t
spend every waking moment before it releases searching for every scrap of information
we possibly can about it.
What I mean this is, when you get your expectations up and the game does come out you might
be disappointed. If your keep you expectations low and you don’t really think about it
much, when it comes out it will be awesome, you won’t be disappointed unless you truly
don’t like it.
I know this because before I got on the internet as much as I do now, I usually didn’t
know every detail about the games. And when I got them I was super excited. Finding all
about the new features it had in my first gameplay experience.
And before Halo Reach came out I got on B.net everyday and looked at all the information
they had posted and watched the gameplay vids over and over. And when the game finally
came out I have to tell you I was a little disappointed, I expected it to be better than
it was. And of course I believe it’s a very fun game and I still play it.
Now I just watch the trailers that are released on this website and that’s pretty much
it. I don’t need to know every detail. Instead I’m going to find out when the game
releases. Think about the Prometheans. What if you actually played the game and saw
them in your first play through? I know it was scary when I saw the Flood for my
first time in CE.
And I’m not saying all of you do this, but think about it.
We still know bugger all in regards to things like the story.
In terms of multiplayer, I want to know every single detail. Multiplayer is where I will be spending months playing.
> I’m scared of surprises.
Face your fear Spartan.
> We still know bugger all in regards to things like the story.
Good thing too.
I don’t want to know much about the story (and by that I mean I REALLY DO SO BADLY.) because it’ll ruin it for me.
I wanna be surprised.
Bugger it. I saw the entire Prometheus Movie before it was released thanks to Fox, Youtube, and anything bloggy about the movie Alien… and I wasn’t even trying to. So far I know jack about that evil ball thing because I refuse to read the books or any post here that says It’s the Diactal or whatever.
We know almost nothing about Forge.
I’m just playing the worst game right now. The waiting game.
Still 2 and a half more months left. :’(
I like to know what I am buying before I shell out almost £70. Plus where most people think spoilers ruin something I find it makes that thing more interesting.

You could look at a review or play it at a friends house.
And would you buy it anyway if they gave us no other information other than the trailers
they have?
I like new info, its what keeps me going until the game actualy comes out. You have to fuel the fire.

Can’t you just play other games? Like Halo Reach or something else. That’s what I do.
Think about it, we get about 2 years to between each game’s release. Every day I spend
waiting to get Halo 4 is another day I get to play Reach.
Are you just going to play Halo 4 for a year and then get all hyped up over Halo 5 and
then do the same thing for 6?
Just enjoy the time that you have with the newest title. There will be a day when you
won’t care about Halo 4 as much and instead you will be kissing Halo 5’s butt.

I’ve been playing Halo Reach since the day it came out nearly 2 years ago, and I still do. I even play Halo 3 on occation. I just like to be well informed I guess. Not knowing anything about Halo 4 when I got it would be like running into a battle without any intell on the situation, and I don’t want to be that guy sitting in the corner accidentaly blowing himself up with the sticky detonator.
lol i find the title ironic because sadly i wont be getting my copy until christmas :(. no time to get it before…
I also find it very odd that the community by in large wants 343i to release every single detail about the game way beyond a general understanding. On the other hand, when you have, what appears to be a cult like following, it’s par for the course for the community to be fully engaged, especially after such a long void between releases.
The only reason I am an information scavenger when it comes to Halo 4 is because that will be my first introduction to playing Halo and to be honest, I’m extremely excited. :=)
It’s just what some people want to do. Some kids like to shake their Christmas presents. Some try to stay up and wait for Santa to appear. Others will open their presents then scream that they got the blue power ranger and not the red. How about we all just enjoy our Christmas the way we want to.

You haven’t played Halo before? Isn’t that Illeagal?

halo 4 is gonna be your first halo game?
It’s entirely a personal choice if people want to dig for info or not. You shouldn’t expect every one to stop getting hyped, it’s honestly not going to happen. If people do get over hyped by seeking out info on their own, and they end up disappointed, it’s no ones fault but their own. Some of us will or have ‘shaken our presents’ a little harder then others, getting to play the game before hand (finally got my hands on it at FanExpo this morning) and it’s worth it to us.
